This version is for a strings trio and piano. On this version, you can play it in different ways. As written, I have a trio with refrain and 3 verses. I then have a final refrain that has an echo part and a little different ending. You could do this as a quartet by a third person playing on the echo part earlier in the refrain. I will leave that open for you to decide how you want to do it. Roger Peterson, who preached on the text of the music, and he was so impressed he had us sing it to First Presbyterian Church the next Sunday. Moses and Miriam was based on Numbers 12: 1-16 in a sermon preached by our Fort Myers Florida senior pastor Dr. Paul de Jong on June 4, 2023. It is a ballad for one or two voices with piano, or organ or guitar accompaniment. Its six verses tell the tale of what happened to Miriam, Moses' sister when she put up a great fuss when her famous brother married a black woman. It is a lesson from Bible times, that racism is unacceptable.
