The musical production of Guiga reaches its apex in the early decades of the twentieth century. There were countless invitations for him to present his songs, especially in evenings, dances and parties. That was a season that earned fame to the artist. He accessed means of great social prestige in the region. He was even honored by the President, Mr. Arthur Bernardes in 1934. At this time, Guiga got the second most important gift from his musical life. In recognition of the talent of the musician, the illustrious politician (that was born in Viçosa, MG) presents him with a 12-string viola (country guitar). The instrument was specially ordered from the manufacturer Tranquillo Giannini. Guiga wielded and used that viola until 1961, the year he died.
