Although a crazy quilt's appearance may seem haphazard, the finished product is the result of careful planning. Hours are spent cutting shapes and assorting pieces into various arrangements before the fragments are sewn together. This flamboyant piece utilizes the entire range of the piccolo and explores its unique tone colors while challenging the technical capabilitiesof the performer. The piccolo and piano move together through various melodic fabrics which are sewn together by referencing previously used material.Length: 4 minutes.
