Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Piano,Viola - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.860351 Composed by Daniel Leo Simpson. Classical,Folk,Instructional,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 10 pages. ScorePerfect #2026723. Published by ScorePerfect (A0.860351). La Coza for Viola & Piano is the very first composition of the San Francisco, award winning composer Daniel Leo Simpson. The 18 year old composer wrote this piece for himself to be played in his Theory & Composition class at the University of Arizona and was performed by him there on the viola with a classmate playing the piano part. It's a great Beginner/Early Intermediate piece staying in first position except for one quick 'flight' into third position. A wonderful performance piece suitable for weddings, church, recitals or simply as an educational instructional piece. The modest piano part is also player friendly making this piece a favorite with teachers and students alike.

Largo (from Symphony No. 9 in E minor) (From the New World) (Db) (String Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of the Largo, based on the second movement of Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services, especially Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (18 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from the The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95 (subtitled From the New World and popularly know as the New World Symphony), was composed by Antonin Dvorak in 1893 while he was the director of the National Conservatory of Music of America from 1892 to 1895. It premiered at Carnegie Hall in New York City on December 16, 1893 and has been described as one of the most popular of all symphonies. The second movement of the symphony, upon which this arrangement is based, is marked Largo, and begins with a harmonic progression of chords which is then followed by a solo instrument playing the famous main theme.Dvorak was interested in Native American music and the African-American spirituals he heard in North America. While director of the National Conservatory he encountered an African-American student, Harry T. Burleigh, who sang traditional spirituals to him. Burleigh, later a composer himself, said that Dvorak had absorbed their spirit before writing his own melodies. Dvorak stated:    I am convinced that the future music of this country must be founded on what are called Negro melodies. These can be the foundation of a serious and original school of composition to be developed in the United States. These beautiful and varied themes are the product of the soil. They are folk songs of America and your composers must turn to them.He further explained how Native American music influenced his symphony:  I have not actually used any of these (Native American) melodies. I have simply written original themes embodying the peculiarities of the Indian music, and, using these themes as subjects, have developed them with all the resources of modern rhythms, counterpoint, and orchestral colour. In 1893, a newspaper interview quoted Dvorak as saying, I found that the music of the negroes and of the Indians was practically identical, and that the music of the two races bore a remarkable similarity to the music of Scotland. Most historians agree that Dvorak is referring to the pentatonic scale, which is typical of each of these musical traditions.Dvorak was influenced not only by music he heard, but also by what he had seen, in America. He wrote that he would not have composed his American pieces as he had if he had not seen America. It has been said that Dvorak was inspired by the wide open spaces of America, such as the prairies he may have seen on his trip to Iowa in the summer of 1893. Notices about several performances of the symphony include the phrase wide open spaces about what inspired the symphony and/or about the feelings it conveys to listeners. The theme from the Largo was adapted into the spiritual Goin' Home (often mistakenly considered a folk song or traditional spiritual) by Dvorak's pupil, William Arms Fisher, who wrote the lyrics in 1922. Regis Bookshar thought it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to this version for a String Quintet, consisting of 3 Violins, 1 Violoncello and 1 Double Bass, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection which a.

Piano - easy to intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q21934 Composed by Marko Tajcevic. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Op. 1. Schott Music - Digital #Q21934. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q21934). Among piano teachers, his music is an 'insider's tip': Born in Osiyek (now Croatia), the composer Marko Tajcevic (1900-1984) wrote many easy piano pieces for music lessons and, like Bartók, devoted himself to the folk music of his home country which was a source of inspiration to him. After studying in Prague and Vienna, he first lived in Zagreb from 1924-1940 where he worked as a music teacher and organized concert series with folk music from his home region. After the Second World War, he moved to Belgrade where he was a professor of music theory and composition at the local music academy. The present volume contains numerous easy-to-play and instructive piano cycles: For the Young - Six Miniatures (on South Slav folk melodies) - 2 Little Suites - For Children - Sonatina (1923) - Sonatina in F (1947), and - as first publication - Tabatiere a musque (A Music Box), a short piece in the high register notated in the treble clef which is reminiscent of a music box. Valuable teaching literature, easy but not simple, tonally interesting due to the use of modal scales, of great technical and formal variety – a real discovery for lessons and the competition 'Jugend musiziert'.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1459452 Composed by Randy Brooks. Arranged by Will Corbin. Christmas,Country,Pop. 10 pages. Will Corbin #1038405. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1459452). Randy Brooks says he was inspired to write this song by a tipsy relative. Important useless but interesting related fact: Brooks is the nephew of Foster Brooks, who made the rounds of '60s TV sitcoms, talkies and variety shows playing a stumbling drunk. Brooks' band talked him out of recording it himself, so he turned it over to Elmo Shropshire (I'm not making this up), who recorded it in 1979. (This is what most people would refer to as a very bad career move on Brooks' part, since he has not otherwise been heard of since.)This version, instrumental only, spares you the silly story ... but everybody reconizes the tune.If you need alternative instrumentation, I'm happy to accommodate. Published by Louise du Toit (A0.1138580). Isele the Frog is the tenth in a series of fifteen original contemporary compositions for piano, titled 15 Animal Compositions for Piano and created to musically describe the movement and habits of specific wildlife creatures. From music notes to words: Isele the frog is hopping along happily through the wet grass of the Okavango Delta, dreaming of juicy insects, fat flies and delicious bugs to fill up his tummy with. Always unpredictable, his sudden moves surprise a huge red-brown bug which he catches for breakfast in an instant. After devouring the delicacy, he continues with what he does best; bouncing from one destination to another. He comes across another frog; fat, grey and intimidating, it forces him to follow another path. Jumping along frantically, Isele becomes aware of a beautiful marabou stork standing like a statue in the swamp. With no intention of becoming a gourmet meal for the bird, he buries himself in the mud where he stays hidden until the marabou takes off. Creeping out from under, he investigates his surroundings to ensure that there is no danger lurking around; then he leaps off towards his next destination..

Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549330). Duration: ca. 3:00, score: 5 pages, solo part: 1 page, piano part: 2 pages.Very famous song suitable for church, recital or nightclub. I Write the Songs is a popular song written by Bruce Johnston in 1975 and made famous by Barry Manilow. Manilow's version reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in January 1976[2] after spending two weeks atop the Billboard adult contemporary chart in December 1975.[3] It won a Grammy Award for Song of the Year and was nominated for Record of the Year in 1977.[3] Billboard ranked it as the No. 13 song of 1976.[4]The original version was recorded by The Captain & Tennille, who worked with Johnston in the early 1970s with The Beach Boys. It appears on their 1975 album, Love Will Keep Us Together. The first release of I Write the Songs as a single was by then teen-idol David Cassidy from his 1975 solo album The Higher They Climb, which was also produced by Bruce Johnston. Cassidy's version reached #11 on the UK Singles Chart in August of that year.[5]Johnston has stated that, for him, the I in the song is God,[2] and that songs come from the spirit of creativity in all of us. He has said that the song is not about his Beach Boys bandmate Brian Wilson.[6]Manilow was initially reluctant to record the song, stating in his autobiography Sweet Life: The problem with the song was that if you didn't listen carefully to the lyric, you would think that the singer was singing about himself. It could be misinterpreted as a monumental ego trip.[3] After persuasion by Clive Davis, then president of Arista Records, Manilow recorded the song, and his version of I Write the Songs was the first single taken from the album Tryin' to Get the Feeling. It first charted on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 15, 1975, reaching the top of the chart nine weeks later, on January 17, 1976. Wikipedia

Initially, he established himself there as a naturalist-taxidermist. His preserved animals were joined by live ones: birds, foxes, reptiles, rodents... In 1955, the filmmaker Marco de Gastyne made a short film about Bouillault and his zoological park entitled Homme, Notre Ami (Man, Our Friend), with music by Germaine Tailleferre, who was particularly drawn to animals. The « Singes » (Monkeys) sequence is intended to illustrate the capers and other playful activities of these primates in a rather humorous manner.

Viola and piano - intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q6397 From the Old Viennese dance tunes. Composed by Fritz Kreisler. Arranged by Wolfgang Birtel. This edition: Sheet music. Edition Schott - Single Edition. Downloadable. Schott Music - Digital #Q6397. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6397). Apart from the collection of 'Classical Manuscripts' composed by Fritz Kreisler (1875-1962) and passed off by him as transcriptions of movements by old masters, the violonist published original works very early. Kreisler himself liked to play them as encore pieces, sweetening many a concert with such pieces of 'musical confectionary'. The most famous miniatures are undoubtedly 'Love's Joy' and 'Love's Sorrow', two 'old Viennese dance-tunes' in which Kreisler evoked the coffee-house atmosphere of his home town with wonderful melodies and beguiling harmonies. The miniatures are endearing, lively and catchy, yet with an elegiac air - but full of charm and elegance. These magnificent salon pieces are now available in an arrangement for viola and piano by Wolfgang Birtel.
