This concerto was composed to give value as an artistic literature to such a familiar theme. In this concerto “Arirang�, I want both the performers and the audience to feel “musical sympathy�. It was commissioned to commemorate the 60th anniversary of I Musici's founding and was dedicated to them. Following the short and fast introduction in 3/4 time, it is connected in the form of 5 variations in 6/8 time. Each variation expresses a different musical atmosphere, performance speed, or change in composition. In general, the main melody is mainly played by the first violin, but as far as the main melody is concerned, in this music, high-pitched instruments and low-pitched instruments intersect and cycle in equal positions, not in a melodicline relationship. After the fourth variation, a virtuosic solo of the movement alone is connected, and after the finale with a broad and majestic atmosphere, it ends with a short and lively coda with the same character as the beginning.  Shown Bowing sign and Fingering(Vn,Va part) will be very helpful to player. A quiet and lyrical theme gradually escalates and repeats itself. Subsequently, the theme is played alternately for each part with the tonal change of the circle of perfect fifths descending for each part. At the end of the cadenza, the theme is played with harmonics that give an oriental feel. I wanted to give a second meaning to what I left behind. I want both the performer and the audience to feel “musical sympathyâ€� with this “Arirang,â€� which is an effort to give value as an artistic document to a folk song that is familiar to everyone. This traditional song was sung to reflect the sorrow of the people who had difficult lives, in keeping with Korean sentiment. This music is arranged for Violin and Piano. The 4th movement is in the form of a variation in which the theme of “Ong Hea�, the nickname of the sonata seen in 4/4/time, is cited. An exciting conversation continues. The colorful arpeggio and colorful bariolage are used to heighten the musical atmosphere. This theme originated in Kungsangdo province, south Korea. The meanning of “Ong Hye Ya� is the sound of peoples harvesting barleys. Excited reaction word of on old Korean mostly used in traditional folk songs to uplift the hard work of harvesting. The grandeur and vastness felt in the Rocky Mountains naturally evokes a sense of greatness and awe for nature. In late July 2024, when I was composing this music, smoke from the Jasper wildfires was carried by the wind to Calgary, more than 300 km away, and it seemed as if the entire city was covered in fog. It seems that even the huge wildfires are an irresistible force of nature that cannot be controlled by human power. I am delighted to leave a “Serenade for Strings” titled “Rocky” in history. The first movement is composed in the traditional sonata form with the theme of “Brilliant Rocky,” and progresses with two contrasting themes: a lively first theme and a beautiful one. The second movement is composed with the title of “Magnificent Rocky,” and expresses the beautiful and majestic scenery of the Rockies. The third movement is developed under the theme of “Memories and Reminiscences of Rocky,” and overall, it expresses the process of climbing and descending to the top of Rocky and the excitement of the heart. The short episodes that unfold between the themes express various scenes of Rocky, and the technique of expanding and contracting notes is used to express tension, vitality, and an atmosphere of passion. The rising and falling musical figures visually and symbolically express the shapes of high mountains and the foothills.
