Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.928570 Composed by Beethoven's Wig, Richard Perlmutter. Arranged by Clifton J. Noble Jr. Children,Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score. 52 pages. Beethoven's Wig, Inc. #6383983. Published by Beethoven's Wig, Inc. (A0.928570). Inspired and wildly imaginative, Beethoven's Wig Sing Along Symphonies are zany, stick-in-your-head lyrics set to masterpieces by great composers. The lyrics are filled with fact and fancy about the composers and their music opening a door to serious music that's fun. Each piece is carefully arranged for piano so that it’s fun to play and sing along!GREAT FOR PIANO STUDENTS AND TEACHERSPiano teachers often tell their students they should sing the instrumental pieces they play to improve their performance. This helps students to interpret pieces lyrically. The witty and delightful lyrics in this collection are an entertaining means to that end. They are great to sing along with when playing, and are educational and fun!PRAISE FOR BEETHOVEN'S WIGClassical music was never supposed to be this much fun. Was it?- Baltimore Sun Instrumental music tends not to charm children...and a classical piece like Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. Not a good bet. But what if that work had words?  - New York TimesThe songs are funny... The lyrics are hummable mnemonics, each imparting information about the work or the composer.- Washington PostAn irreverent, witty approach to music appreciation... a laugh out loud that pretty much guarantees listeners will forevermore recognize the classics.-Los Angeles TimesABOUT BEETHOVEN'S WIGBeethoven's Wig is the creation of Richard Perlmutter, who is the lyricist, lead singer and producer of the group's five albums. String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.1092791 Composed by Chevalier de Saint-Georges. Arranged by Artaria Editions. Classical. Score and parts. 117 pages. Artaria Editions #696898. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1092791). For string quartet Artaria Editions AE619 Edited by Allan Badley 117 pages This is a scholarly edition of a public domain work. The string quartet as a genre was still relatively new in Paris by the time these works were composed. During the 1760s quartets by a number of foreign composers – Haydn, foremost among them – had been issued by Parisian publishers, but these works had not exercised a great deal of influence on local composers. Only Gossec, Nicholas Capron and Pierre Vachon published quartets before the appearance of Saint-Georges’s Op.1 and their works – and, in a broader sense, French instrumental music in general – seem to have provided his model rather than the quartets of Haydn. The most obvious point of difference is their two-movement structure as opposed to the four-movement cycle that was typically adopted by Viennese composers. While this might be thought to mark the works out as being rather primitive, two-movement pairings were also common in that quintessentially French genre, the symphonie concertante of which Saint-Georges was to be an important early exponent.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1376149 Composed by Phil Beaman. Christian,Classical,Sacred,Standards. 11 pages. Phil Beaman #960700. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1376149). The Heavens Are Telling is a very accessible classic SATB anthem for choir and organ.  I took two lines of music and lyrics from Haydn's 1797 oratorio The Creation and made that my chorus.  I then wrote verses using lyrics from other parts of The Creation and then wrote new music for the verses to sound like a continuation of Haydn's work.  The structure is through composed but with Ch/Vs/Ch/Vs/Ch/Ch with the final chorus having the lines reversed.  The piece makes a stately declaration of the wonders of God's creation of the heavens.  11 pages; 1:50 minutesThe range for each part is only 1 octave.Be the first choir to record this anthem and send me the link and I will post it.    plbeaman@gmail.com      Temporarily I have attached a recording of the vocal solo version, which is in another key, so you can get the text and main melody; which is then followed by a MIDI version of organ and 'aahs', to give you an idea of the SATB version.

Flute,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549636 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 16 pages. Jmsgu3 #3516309. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549636). Duration: ca 5:20, Score: 8 pages, solo part: 3 pages, piano part: 4 pages. One of Beethoven's finest and most famous works. Program for a recital, church meditation or school program. Sonata Pathétique Op. 13 First of all, this is an arrangement of the second movement of Beethoven’s Sonata Pathétique. It seems like Beethoven wrote this piece before becoming troubled by deafness. Published in 1799, it consequently remains one of the most celebrated pieces Beethoven ever wrote. As a result of its popularity, the movement was therefore performed by Karl Haas. Hass recorded it for a popular radio show called: Adventures in Good Music. Beethoven Background Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 –1827) was certainly a German pianist. Above all, he was probably one of the greatest composers in history. As a result, he is a pivotal character in the progress between the Classical and Romantic periods. He is certainly one of the most famous and hence important of all composers. Seems like his most familiar and noteworthy works include symphonies 1-9; piano concertos 1-5; and furthermore, the violin concerto. Also, certainly of extreme importance are the noteworthy 32 sonatas for the piano; the string quartets 1-16; the Missa solemnis; and likewise, his only opera, Fidelio. Beethoven Overview First of all, Beethoven was born and consequently raised in Bonn. Upon turning 21 he moved to Vienna probably to study composition with Haydn. That’s when he consequently grew a reputation as a brilliant pianist. Furthermore, he probably stayed in Vienna for the rest of his life. In his late 20s, it seems like his hearing certainly began to decline. It slowly declined until consequently, he was nearly totally deaf probably by the last decade of his life. As a result, he stopped conducting and performing. Nevertheless, he continued to compose. As a result, some of his greatest works probably come from this period. First Period Seems like we often divide Beethoven’s life into three periods. Period 1 begins with Beethoven’s arrival in Vienna. Hence, during this period, he mastered the Viennese style of Haydn & Mozart. He consequently began increasing the size and scale of his works. Furthermore, he experimented with extreme dynamics, and likewise extreme tempi. He worked similarly with chromatic harmony. His First and Second Symphonies, therefore, belong to this period. Other important works also belong here: the first six string quartets and the Sonata Pathétique, Op. 13. Second Period His second period probably began as soon as he realized that he was going deaf. During this period, it seems like he became obsessed with the idea of heroism. His works consequently become even larger and more massive. The most noteworthy of these include the symphonies 3 – 8, piano concertos 5& 6, 5 string quartets, several important piano sonatas (Waldstein and Appassionata), the Kreutzer violin sonata, the violin concerto and his only opera: Fidelio. Third Period In contrast, Beethoven's third period is branded above all by works of incredible intellectual depth, formal innovation, and penetrating expression. It seems like he continued to expand his works. Consequently, the string quartet Op. 131 spills over into seven connected movements. Likewise, in the Ninth Symphony, he adds choral forces to his orchestra probably for the first time in history. Even more, other works from this period include his Missa solemnis, the final 5 string quartets (including the enormous Große Fuge) and the final five sonatas for piano.
