Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bass Clarinet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1342598 Composed by Robert Myers. 21st Century,Contemporary. 32 pages. WheatMyer Music #928098. Published by WheatMyer Music (A0.1342598). 8 Ball is an exploration of the emotional swings of grief — shock and sorrow, emptiness and isolation, pain and finality — mixed with wistful, treasured memories recognizing the blessing of sharing life with a loved one, and added to this the hope of eternal reunion. It’s written in memory of my brother, Tex, who we lost to COVID in 2020. In homage to his passion, dirt track racing, there is a contrasting section of paint-swapping, fender-bending frenzy, which comes to an all too sudden end as did his life. The title has nothing to do with billiards but refers to his long-tenured racing number and logo. The music uses unconventional scales which are actually six-tone pitch sets treated as different key centers. They produce a lush mixture of consonance and dissonance that at turns feel comforting and unsettling.Writing 8 Ball was a cathartic experience to explore my own emotions, cement my brother’s proper place in my memories, and produce a tangible expression of my love for my brother. It was written as an assignment in the 2023 summer composition workshop at Tarrant County College. I’m grateful to my instructor, Dr. Aaron Kline, the music department at TCC, and the musicians of our performing quartet for their part in bringing this music to life.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1125812 By Michael Swedberg. By 13th Century Finnish Carol. Arranged by Terrence Niska. Christmas,Contemporary,Holiday. Score. 8 pages. Niska Music Publishing #726552. Published by Niska Music Publishing (A0.1125812). This carol holds a special memory for me. I was living in Green Bay following my graduate studies and I was teaching private voice lessons at Appleton West High School with my brother and his wife at the request of the choral director, Kevin Meidl. Kevin was also the director of the Appleton Boychoir and one year he asked me to sing the solo part of this carol for a recording they were making. My arrangement of this carol is rather straightforward with very little altering of the basic rhythms found in the original tune. However, the melody in the first verse is found among triplet figures and therefore one must be sure to bring out the important notes. There is a dance-like quality to the music, reminiscent of a gigue from the Baroque period. Following a brief reprise of the opening material the melody shifts to the left hand, starting out as a single note and soon joined in harmony. To me, it represents the page and the king from the story as they walk through the cold, winter night to bring food and fuel to the peasant living near the mountain. The melody then moves back to the right hand, but is now played in half notes indicating the difficult terrain and the snow they must traverse causing them to move more slowly. The left hand rumbles below as a reminder of the wind blowing and the snow swirling about them. The page, fears he cannot go on, but the king tells him to walk in his footsteps and all will be well. Soon, monarch and servant are moving swiftly to their destination. The music slowly fades as they pass into the mountain’s shadow only to grow once again as they arrive at the poor man’s home. The final chords ring out as the door is thrown open and they step inside to share what they have brought.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1370002 Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Kathryn W. Hales. Children,Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Score. 6 pages. Kevin G. Pace #954376. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1370002). A children's song, telling the story of the sons of Mosiah from the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Christ.  Music by Kevin G. Pace.  Text by Kathryn W. Hales.Text:The Lord told King Mosiah to let his sons go away, To the land of Nephi where for many years they'd stay. They wanted to preach the gospel in the Lord's ministry, To the sinful, wicked Lamanites who were their enemies. Now one of the sons was Ammon who had been a rebellious youth, But after Alma's change of heart, he wanted to know the truth. He became Lamoni's servant, watching over the king's sheep, He beat some robbers who came to steal, leaving a pile of arms at his feet. Then he taught King Lamoni the true source of his strength and might, That the king should change his ways, repent and do what's right. Lamoni believed what Ammon taught and all his people too, They became so very righteous because God's promises are true.Aaron was another son of Nephite King Mosiah, He taught of the Creation, of the Fall and God's Son who would die To save all men from death and sin, yea, Jesus, the Holy One, Who would come to earth at some future day to save each and ev'ry one.Omni and his brother Himnor were also Mosiah's sons, But not much is recorded about their missions. But they were faithful servants during all their trial filled days, They taught many people how to walk in God's own chosen way.Chorus:I want to be like Mosiah's sons and share God's holy word. I can be a missionary, a servant of the Lord. I can be so very courageous, I can the gospel teach, That all may know God's holy grace is within their loving reach.

Small Ensemble Drum Set,Euphonium,Horn,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.802648 By Bee Gees. By Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, and Robin Gibb. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Dance,Disco. Score and parts. 17 pages. Peet du Toit #6198223. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802648). Lonely Days is a ballad written and performed by the Bee Gees. It appeared on their album 2 Years On, and was released as a single, becoming their first Top Five hit in the US, peaking at number three in the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching number one in the Cashbox and Record World charts. Barry Gibb later re-recorded the song with country quartet Little Big Town for his 2021 album Greenfields. On Friday, 21 August 1970, the three Gibb brothers announced they would reunite and start recording together, nearly 16 months after Robin quit the group. They said later that they wrote Lonely Days and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart at their first reunion session, but the exact day when they recorded the song is unknown. However, a tape of stereo mixes received at Atlantic in October bears the tantalizing notation August 20, 1970 which, if true, means the brothers announced the reunion the day after it happened. According to Robin Gibb in a 2001 Billboard interview with the Bee Gees, That was written on Addison Road in Holland Park in London, in the basement of Barry's place. This song was sung by all three together to Maurice's piano and bass and Bill Shepherd's string and horn arrangement, the slow verses contrasting with the pounding chorus. 'Lonely Days' was written in ten minutes. It was that quick. I was at the piano ten minutes. Barry revealed later in 1998, A manager we had about five years back heard 'Lonely Days' in a restaurant and he said to a friend, 'That's one of my favorite Beatles songs' And he was managing us!Well, beyond the Covid-19 pandemic, brass quintets would want to re-unite. What better way than to play a shortened version (for the fragile chops) of Lonely Days... Enjoy!

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.928974 By The Beach Boys. By Brian Wilson and Gary Usher. Arranged by Donald A. Mills, 2019. A Cappella,Pop,Rock. Octavo. 3 pages. Donald A Mills #4351149. Published by Donald A Mills (A0.928974). In My Room, by The Beach Boys.  This gentle song may be sung as a prayer, with tenderness. Your audiences will love the melody and harmonies. This arrangement by Donald A. Mills is for barbershop as a quartet or chorus. It is TTBB (TLBB) a cappella, sung softly, sweetly, legato, singing the four dotted quarter notes as a 3/4 time. The Beach Boys have mentioned that they wrote In My Room in 12/8 time because they had tired of the 3/4 time many songs of the day were written in. From Wikipedia, Gary Usher explained that 'In My Room found us taking our craft a little more seriously. Brian and I came back to the house one night after playing 'over-the-line' (a baseball game). I played bass and Brian was on organ. The song was written in an hour... Brian's melody all the way. The sensitivity... the concept meant a lot to him. When we finished, it was late, after our midnight curfew. In fact, Murry [the Wilson brothers' father] came in a couple of times and wanted me to leave. Anyway, we got Audree [the Wilson brothers' mother], who was putting her hair up before bed, and we played it for her. She said, 'That's the most beautiful song you've ever written.' Murry said, 'Not bad, Usher, not bad,' which was the nicest thing he ever said to me. Gary Usher (who co-wrote the lyrics with Brian Wilson) further describes that Brian was always saying that his room was his whole world. Brian seconds this opinion: I had a room, and I thought of it as my kingdom. And I wrote that song, very definitely, that you're not afraid when you're in your room. It's absolutely true. In 1990, Brian wrote, I also enjoyed producing 'In My Room'. There is a story behind this song. When Dennis, Carl and I lived in Hawthorne as kids, we all slept in the same room. One night I sang the song 'Ivory Tower' to them and they liked it. Then a couple of weeks later, I proceeded to teach them both how to sing the harmony parts to it. It took them a little while, but they finally learned it. We then sang this song night after night. It brought peace to us. When we recorded 'In My Room', there was just Dennis, Carl and me on the first verse...and we sounded just like we did in our bedroom all those nights. This story has more meaning than ever since Dennis' death.

Saxophone Quintet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813602 Composed by Henry Purcell. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Instructional,Multicultural,Standards,World. 8 pages. Regis Bookshar #6431425. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813602). Saxophone Quintet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This arrangement of the Allegro movement from Henry Purcell's Sonata for Trumpet would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services. It is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. This selection is one of the arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library, many of which are being made available for the first time. They have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The original composition was written in D Major but Regis Bookshar has transposed it to Bb Major, making it a little easier for many modern musicians. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (8 pages). The 17th century composer, Henry Purcell, is generally considered to be one of the greatest English composers of his generation. His Sonata for Trumpet and Strings in D Major, composed in 1694, was probably written for the London Theatre, where a fine tradition of trumpet playing had developed. Purcell almost certainly had in mind either John Shore or his brother, William, the most renowned trumpet players in England at the time. The trumpets of the time were normally tuned in D and there were no valves on the Baroque trumpets, so they were limited in the number of notes that they could play. The term Sonata here probably means no more than a piece of incidental music and looks forward to the style that would become the solo concerto where soloist and strings are pitted against each other but also looks back to an older type of instrumental music which emphasized equality between members of the ensemble. The music is in three movements and looks forward to the fast-slow-fast plan popularized by Vivaldi's concertos. Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists, besides trumpet players, could also have the opportunity to play the Allegro movement from Purcell's Sonata for Trumpet, so he has created other arrangements of this selection. This particular arrangement is for a Saxophone Quintet, consisting of 2 Altos, 2 Tenors and 1 Baritone, and features the Baritone Saxophone on the melody, but there are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this piece. You may find something else that may suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a wide variety of styles also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check back periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this exciting arrangement of Purcell's Allegro from his Sonata for Trumpet will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

This particular arrangement is for an Oboe Quintet, consisting of 5 Oboes, but there are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles.
