Given the tensions between the US and Cuba, there have been accusations of cultural appropriation and Cubans dislike the word Salsa, but there is no denying the music’s worldwide appeal. Rhythms should be lightly articulated, the melody should always flow, and following the articulation in the score will help convey the style.
