Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.500724

By Hudson Taylor. By Alfred Hudson Taylor, Harry Hudson Taylor, and Michael Aaron Einziger. Arranged by G. M. Morley. A Cappella,Contemporary. Octavo. 10 pages. G. M. Morley #6450803. Published by G. M. Morley (A0.500724).

Taken from the 2015 album Singing for Strangers, Don't Tell Me has potential to be a loud and raucous anthem of defiance for any performance. While my arrangement was originally intended to be performed at a Pride event, due to restrictions across the UK regarding choral groups we were unable to perform it.
Although not officially part of the LGBTQ community, interviews indicate that Hudson Taylor are LGBTQ Allies.
This song can be performed as a rallying cry for any march or protest for equality.

By Stephen R Dalrymple. By George C Stebbins and Ellen L Goreh. Arranged by Stephen R Dalrymple. Sacred. Score. 9 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #3884109. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818267).

♫ piano solo arrangement of a public domain hymn
♫lyrics by Ellen L Goreh 1853-1937
♫ melody by George C Stebbins 1846-1945
♫ The author of the text was a native of India. She spent many years in mission work among the women of India, held in high esteem by missionaries of all denominations. Ira D Sankey writes “The hymn was first sung by [George Stebbins] as an offertory in one of the churches in Brooklyn, New York. It was often repeated as an offertory, and on occasions was sung in evangelistic services. But it had its larger introduction to the public during the All-Winter Mission conducted by Mr. Moody and myself in London in the winter of 1883–84, when I sang it frequently, as did Mr. Stebbins, who spent several months assisting in the mission.†The hymn spread all over the world. Hudson Taylor reported that it was a favorite of the missionaries in China.

SKU: MQ.8560-E

Composed by Libby Larsen. Instrument part. 28 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8560-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8560-E).

English.

This piece is a three-part collection based on poetry by American pioneers. The texts are full of a kind of raw energy, swashbuckling attitude, and profundity of heart and commitment characteristic of those settlers west of the Hudson. I had also looked at the more erudite essays of Coleridge-Taylor, Thoreau, and Emerson but chose the rougher stanzas because the primitive voices, the pioneers, were profound, simply in the way they expressed the nature of their experiences. The first piece, 'Comin’ to Town,' is about cowboys after a month on the range—bawdy, rowdy, and raucous. The second, 'Beneath These Alien Stars,' is about the bonding of the human spirit to the land. The third piece, 'A Hoopla,' depicts a barn dance and vocalists circle ‘round the instruments, stomp, clap, and generally perform with abandon, vigor, and boisterousness. The Settling Years was commissioned and premiered by The Singing Sergeants and the United States Air Force Band for the 150th anniversary of the Music Educators National Convention.-Libby Larsen

Instrumental Parts include: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon, and Piano.
