Electric guitar, 2 violas and cello - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q47101 For electric guitar, 2 violas and cello. Composed by Gavin Bryars. This edition: score. Downloadable, score. Duration 16 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q47101. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q47101). I had written the Cadman Requiem in 1989 for the Hilliard Ensemble in memory of my friend and sound engineer Bill Cadman, who was killed in the Lockerbie air crash. His death affected me very deeply and, pending a recording of this piece, Manfred Eicher asked if I might like to develop an instrumental work from this, using the same instrumentation for accompaniment and retaining the same opening bars as part of a new ECM album. The piece is after the Requiem therefore in the musical sense of being based on it, in the chronological sense of following on from it, and in the spiritual sense of representing that state which remains after mourning is (technically) over. I wrote the piece in Venice in September 1990 and finished it in Oslo on the day of the recording, where I added the electric guitar of Bill Frisell. This, I felt, blended particularly well with low strings (2 violas and cello). Coincidentally, having used certain distortion effects on the guitar, we found that we were recording on the twentieth anniversary of the death of Jimi Hendrix. Within the music I use one or two modified extracts from the Cadman Requiem itself, and from its common source Invention of Tradition, for which Bill Cadman had done the sound design. The piece is dedicated to the two Bills (Cadman and Frisell).

Trumpet Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1027345 Composed by Mitchell Jon Strenk. Baroque,Classical,Instructional. Individual part. 3 pages. Mitchell Jon Strenk #19279. Published by Mitchell Jon Strenk (A0.1027345). A work for solo trumpet, I chose to write this pice in a way that somehow mimics the sound and style of a violin. all the notes are meant to be played connected, in a flowing style. Inspiration from this piece was found while I was just messing around doing classical improv on trumpet, when I decided that I could write more off of what I had done. Since parts of this piece was originally written from an improvisation, I decided to leave some things, such as dynamics and some tempo changes, up to the performer. This is written for late high school and early college level players.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Digital Download SKU: A0.1028870 Composed by Darrell Hansen. Arranged by Darrell Hansen. Holiday. Score. 10 pages. Darrell Hansen #4352773. Published by Darrell Hansen (A0.1028870). I wrote this song for my dad, as I reflected on my final visit with him on this earth. He had done some drinking, he had smoked like a chimney for many years. As a result of some bad choices, he had to undergo quadruple bypass heart surgery, from which he never really came back fully. I remember my last visit was on the porch swing at dad and mom's  place. He was really down on himself, very dissatisfied with his life, and basically considered himself a failure. I tried to assure him that I was proud of him. After all, he stayed with mom, ran a small business, left a paid off house, always kept us fed, and even took us on some wild journeys across the country. I thought about dad after he passed and the thought came to me that even though he was down on himself, in my eyes he was a king. The rest is history. .

I have memories of being on the front row of church as a little girl, singing as loud as I could. The album is a tribute to my parents who raised my sisters and I to love God, our country and our families. As many musicians do, I got my start in the church, playing the piano for the Children’s church at the age of 10. It didn’t take long before I started sitting at a 9’ Steinway opposite an incredible organist who changed keys as often as a woman changes her clothes. I fell in love with the simplicity of the hymns and with the many fun arrangements that were possible. The lyrics of some of these hymns have been ingrained in my soul and have brought me comfort, deepened my faith, and have taught me that when all is said and done, the Truth and Faithfulness of God are what will carry me through. If you’re searching for: Christian music, inspirational music or church hymns, consider My Father’s Favorite Hymns. Songs include: Tell Me the Old Old Story; Just a Closer Walk with Thee; Great is Thy Faithfulness; Immortal Invisible; Amazing Grace/It is Well; Your Truth it Stands; Glory to His Name; Stand Up for Jesus/Leaning on the Everlasting Arms; In the Garden; Were You There when they Crucified my Lord? Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.921036 Composed by Manuel de Falla. Arranged by Michael Drennan. 20th Century,Halloween. Score and parts. 50 pages. Drennan Music Publications #6332813. Published by Drennan Music Publications (A0.921036). I arranged this piece in 2010 for my senior recital at Ithaca College. It comes from the ballet El Amor Brujo by Manuel de Falla, and has been one of my favorite arrangements that I’ve ever done. The trumpets are split between C Trumpet and B-flat Trumpet, and there is a Bass Trombone part instead of a Tuba part that would normally occur when combining two Brass Quintets together. When it was originally performed (see the video below) I gave the percussionist the score and let her have at it since I had no idea how to write for percussion at the time. Since then I’ve learned that skill and added two percussion parts to the piece. The first one splits Snare Drum and Bass Drum between two people, and the other has Crash Cymbals and Castanets, which can be played by one person. I view these percussion parts as optional, but they are fun and add quite a bit to the piece.

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.887255 Composed by Charles-Louis Hanon. Arranged by Martin Woodward. Instructional. Score. 37 pages. Martin Woodward #6513221. Published by Martin Woodward (A0.887255). Hanon Piano / Keyboard Exercises 1 - 30Condensed and Simplified for Beginners Easy ReadingIn this short book you will find condensed and simplified versions of the Hanon piano finger exercises 1 - 30 as well as the major, harmonic minor and melodic minor scales in every key (two octaves). What is Hanon? The ‘Hanon Virtuoso Pianist’ is a collection of piano finger exercises designed to give equal strength, agility and flexibility to all five fingers of both hands. Written by Charles-Louis Hanon sometime in the 1800s, these exercises without doubt have become one of the most widely used techniques by today’s pianists. In my opinion these are the best finger exercises available. One really great thing about these exercises is that they are applicable to both absolute beginners and advanced players alike, particularly as the reading ability required is minimal. Whatever your ability, these exercises will help improve your technique and finger strength. Having been written well over 100 years ago, the original work is now in the public domain and therefore digital copies can be acquired free of charge on the internet. However, most of these are very poor quality and the instructions are mainly in French or Russian - neither of which work too well for me! For the full version I personally recommend the ‘Alfred’ Edition edited by Allan Small which is clear and has instructions in English. So why do I need this book? The whole point is to make it easy to read and to reduce page turns - less is more! In the full version the first 30 exercises take up fifty pages whereas here there are three exercises per page for the first 20, then two per page for the next 10, reducing the fifty pages to just twelve. I initially produced this for my own use only but figured that others may like to take advantage of what I’ve done. Does this mean that the print is just smaller? No, not at all. If you are familiar with these exercises you will know that they are repeated patterns which ascend and descend for two octaves diatonically. To condense and simplify them and consequently eliminate an enormous amount of page turns I have shown: the all-important fingering on the first pattern (as per the original)then the repeated second patternthen ‘changeover’ patterns between ascending and descending - which are sometimes slightly differentthen finally the last pattern of each exercise which again is often very slightly different. I have also written them two octaves apart (for easy reading) and only shown them for one octave instead of two. In practice they should be played one octave apart and ultimately be practiced for two octaves. You can print out any or all the pages as required (the link for the pdf printable version is given at the end of the book). Please see: https://learn-keyboard.co.uk/hanon.html

Choral Choir (SSAA) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1259757 By Pentatonix. Arranged by Karen Wilson. 21st Century,A Cappella,Contemporary,Pop. Octavo. 10 pages. Karen Wilson #853033. Published by Karen Wilson (A0.1259757). This is a fabulous song by Pentatonix which I have arranged for four-part (SSAA) a cappella voices, although sometimes the voice parts split.  It can be sung with or without the body percussion as I know it's sometimes difficult to do both at the same time!Whilst in the original Pentatonix song, Scott Hoying has most of the solos, I have arranged this so that all voices get the chance to sing the main melody.  The bass part is not the most interesting(!) as the whole song is built over a repeating two-bar phrase (four chords).  However, in this arrangement, I have managed to give them the main melody at bar 30 and at bar 61 they are the only voice-part to sing Mitch's parting tune - it's the basses' time to shine!I have two versions of this song available.  The other version (Product Number 1355563) is easier to sing.  If you want a challenge, this is the version you should try!  It's as close as I could get to the original.

Flute Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.486137 Composed by Matthew Nunes. Classical,Contemporary. Individual part. 6 pages. Matthew Nunes Music #104578. Published by Matthew Nunes Music (A0.486137). Listen to this piece hereRæswian is a piece especially composed for Danielle Giguere, a flute player and music educator I met at the University of Central Florida, as a personal thank you for her generous donation to my “Get Matt to Maryland†Rally via rally.org. Ræswian is an Anglo-Saxon word meaning to deeply ponder and analyze a subject through various viewpoints. I have known Danielle for a few years now and the dynamic of our relationship has altered over time. For the primary material of this work I used the first three notes of a melody I composed for her a few years earlier. I freely work through this material in an old folk-song like manner to explore how differently its intervallic patterns can be perceived. It is a work that I hope evokes one to analyze all possibilities before making an assumption. - Matthew Nunes Orlando, August 2013.

C Instrument - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.842476 By The Fray. By Isaac Slade and Joseph King. Arranged by Ben Clapton. Rock. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 3 pages. Ben Clapton #4597303. Published by Ben Clapton (A0.842476). You Found Me was released by American rock band The Fray in 2008. It was their third single to sell 2 million downloads in the US, and marked The Fray's first number one hit in Australia. This is a lead sheet for the song, which has the melody and lyrics, and guitar chords. The song is written in B, and it has capo chords at capo 4 to utilise open chords. From Wikipedia:In an interview, lead singer and pianist Isaac Slade expressed his meaning behind the lyrics of the song:'You Found Me' is such a great song you should really listen to it. I love it as if it were my own child. The heart ache, the let down that comes with life. Sometimes you're let down, sometimes you're the one who lets someone else down. It gets hard to know who you can trust, who you can count on. This song came out of a tough time, and I'm still right in the thick of it. There's some difficult circumstances my family and friends have been going through over the past year or so and it can be overwhelming. It wears on me. It demands so much of my faith to keep believing, keep hoping in the unseen. Sometimes the tunnel has a light at the end, but usually they just look black as night. This song is about that feeling, and the hope that I still have, buried deep in my chest. In another interview Isaac Slade declared that:I kept getting these phone calls from home – tragedy after tragedy... If there is some kind of Person in charge of this planet – are they sleeping? Smoking? Where are they? I just imagined running into God standing on a street corner like Bruce Springsteen, smoking a cigarette, and I'd have it out with Him.In a Reuters article about the album, Slade stated that the lyrics for You Found Me were written in 2007, and that the song asks about the problem of evil, why bad things happen to good people, after some of their friends and family went through very tough times. Many others say that the song represents the reason we cope with things and how abandonment plays a role in everyday life.

(6 · 6 · 4 · 4 · 2 minimum) cello and orchestra - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q3688 Farewell to philosophy. Composed by Gavin Bryars. This edition: study score. Music Of Our Time. Downloadable, Study score. Duration 35 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q3688. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q3688). I have a great fondness for the lower string instruments: I am a bass player, my mother is a cellist, as are both my daughters; my own ensemble includes two violas, a cello and a bass, and for the instrumentation of my opera Medea I omit the entire violin section from the orchestra. As I have written a number of works for solo instrument or voice with orchestra I welcomed the opportunity to write a concerto for cello and orchestra and especially one which focuses particularly on the instrument’s lyrical qualities. Although the piece is in one continuous movement, and the soloist is playing almost without a break, it nevertheless falls into distinct sections which are recognisable by a shift of tempo as well as by a change in the music’s character. One of the early ideas Julian Lloyd Webber and I discussed was that it might form a companion piece to one of the Haydn concertos. Given my friendship with some members of the English Chamber Orchestra and my awareness of their repertoire, this suggested a number of particular musical references. The subtitle to the work, for example, combines the subtitles of two idiosyncratic Haydn symphonies and I allude to them in different ways but chiefly through orchestration: for The Philosopher by including a section in the concerto where the orchestration resembles that of the symphony’s first movement (pairs of English and French horns, muted violins and unmuted lower strings); for The Farewell, by the progressive reduction in the orchestration towards the end. Indeed, apart from the orchestral tutti in the last few bars, the last pages of the score are virtually for string quartet. The subtitle also refers to my own background as a philosophy graduate... The piece was commissioned by Philips Classics for Julian Lloyd Webber and is dedicated to him. The first performance was given by Julian Lloyd Webber and the English Chamber Orchestra conducted by James Judd, 21 November 1995, Barbican Hall, London. Gavin Bryars.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1457335 Composed by Arthur Williams and Carl Sigman. Arranged by Dave Gingras and John E. Dosher. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 2 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #1036381. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1457335). Funny Thing is a song written by Carl Sigman and Arthut Williams in 1954. Some of Carl's writing credits include such songs as Where Do I Begin (the theme from Love Story), but I was unable to find any specific reference to this song - I stumbled across it in an old fakebook I have. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. We also added some pretty cool left-hand fills for your listening (playing?) pleasure - we hope you like what we've done to make this arrangement unique!

Piano,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1236635 Composed by Christian Morris. Contemporary. 32 pages. Hoopla Sheet Music #832155. Published by Hoopla Sheet Music (A0.1236635). An exciting concert piece inspired by U.S. WW2 pilot, John Gillespie Magee’s iconic poem ‘High Flight.’ In the opening he describes the the magnificent and exhilarating sensation of flying. In the more contemplative second section he seems to breach the veil between earth and heaven: Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirthof sun-split clouds,—and done a hundred thingsYou have not dreamed of—wheeled and soared and swungHigh in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,I've chased the shouting wind along, and flungMy eager craft through footless halls of air ....Up, up the long, delirious, burning blueI've topped the wind-swept heights with easy graceWhere never lark nor ever eagle flew—And, while with silent lifting mind I've trodThe high untrespassed sanctity of space,Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.High Flight is part of a collection of pieces by Christian Morris entitled ‘A History of Powered Flight’:1. Kitty Hawk2. Dogfight3. Afterburner4. Holding Pattern5. Queen of the Skies6. High Flight.
