Published by MyMusicScores.com (A0.736797). Johann Anton Filtz (1733 - 1760) was just 26 years old when he died! In his short time on earth, he studied law and theology at the University of Ingolstadt, was a cellist in the Mannheimer Hofkapelle and a composer of at least thirty-four symphonies, thirty concertos and several chamber works. Being a member of the Mannheimer Hofkapelle puts Filtz's compositions clear in the Mannheim school along with fellow composers Franz Xaver Richter, Carl Stamitz, Franz Ignaz Beck, Ignaz Fränzl, and Christian Cannabich. His 6 Symphonies Op. 1 are all scored for strings and continuo and consist of three movements - fast - slow- fast. I can't find a recording of Filtz's Symphony Op.1 No.5 in F major or a modern edition of this work. I do hope that you will find this work interesting enough to play and perform. Piano and Double Reeds - Digital Download SKU: IZ.CMW211 Composed by Daniel Baldwin. Score and Parts. 86 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #CMW211. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.CMW211). 9 x 12 inches. My wife and I love to travel together. We are always looking for places to go together, as well as excuses to include each other in our own individual travels. One of my personal favorite travel opportunities is the International Double Reed Society conference. It is an opportunity to catch up with friends, make new friends and contacts, and make beautiful music. A number of years ago, I started the All Star Double Reed Band that has now premiered over a dozen new pieces for large double reed ensemble, and has recorded an album of those works. As a combined labor of love, I wrote Impressions of Yellowstone for my wife, a concert pianist, to perform with this group. The first movement, “Little Grand Canyon opens with a chorale in the piano illustrating the simple majesty of the great and wondrous park that my wife and I visit annually with her parents. From there, the music exemplifies my impression of this wondrous landscape; beautiful, powerful. A deep valley with a waterfall on one end, it is one of the more beautiful sites to see in Yellowstone. The second movement, Grand Prismatic, is a musical impression of the different perspectives of this very famous Yellowstone landmark. From the overlook, you see a stunning pond with steam emanating from it and surrounded by color. However, if you are to go down and stand next to the hotspot, your perspective changes greatly. Sulfur smells, danger from the soft crust (with boiling sulfuric liquid just below the surface), and a hot, steamy fog of mist permeate the area.In the finale, Old Faithful, tone painting is brought out in full force as the opening piano solo material brings about the image of the geyser bubbling and building below the surface. Then, at the point of explosion, you hear the water falling and the delight of all of the dozens of onlookers who visit this most famous site at Yellowstone every day.The original version, for double reeds, is dedicated the All Star Double Reed Band and my wife, Tammy Miller, who recorded it on the Co-Op Press label. The version for piano and string orchestra is dedicated to Tammy and the National Composers Orchestra who recorded it on the Baldwin Records label.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1032581 Composed by Dominic M Wright. Christian,Christmas. Octavo. 10 pages. Dominic M Wright #5009059. Published by Dominic M Wright (A0.1032581). An original setting of the lyrics to the well-known carol 'What Child is This?’ For SABT choir and piano accompaniment. Suitable for any Christmas service or concert. Composers Note This piece was originally composed during my recovery from CFS/ME. I was drawn to these particular words because, like me, William Dix suffered a serious illness which strengthened his faith and inspired him to write not just these lyrics, but many other well-known and beloved hymns and carols. The piece was premiered during the annual 'Carols by Candlelight' service at our local church of St Andrews, Kirk Ella in December 2017. The choir worked extremely hard to prepare for the performance and the piece was very well received by both choir and audience. I am sure that your choir and audience will enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed working on it. Duration approximately 4 minutes. Words: William Chatterton Dix - Public DomainMusic: Original composition by Dominic M Wright - Copyright 2017 Dominic M Wright is an award winning composer based in East Yorkshire, England. He is an experienced singer having sung with the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, Manchester Cathedral Voluntary Choir and the Hull Choral Union in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Sage Gates-head, Durham Cathedral, Manchester Cathedral, Hull Minster and many more. His compositions have been performed across the region, always to audience acclaim.

SATB choir and organ, with optional congregation, treble choir, 2 trumpets, and timpani - Moderately Easy - Digital Download SKU: MQ.60-7040-E Composed by Jeremy J. Bankson. Christ the King, Reformation. Score & instrument parts. 10 pages. MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music #60-7040-E. Published by MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music (MQ.60-7040-E). English. This concertato could also be used as a festive anthem for SATB and optional treble choir, since congregational participation is not essential. The tune WESTMINSTER ABBEY is scored for two trumpets, timpani, and organ. There is a short introduction made of melodic material not in the hymn tune (which is also used in between the phrases of stanza two and for interludes between verses). Stanza one begins in unison and finishes in four parts. Stanza two is unison treble (which can be children's choir or just soprano and alto voices). The introduction is heard again with trumpet fanfares as an interlude before the third stanza. Stanza three gives the melody to the first trumpet while the choir creatively harmonizes around it. A final interlude leads into the fourth stanza for unison with descant and trumpet fanfares.Instrumental Parts include: Trumpets I and II in C and B-flat, Timpani.

Trumpet Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.829062 Composed by Eric Bolvin. Arranged by Eric Bolvin. Contemporary. Individual part. 56 pages. ERIC V BOLVIN #3578765. Published by ERIC V BOLVIN (A0.829062). Most brass players are familiar with the ubiquitous Clarke’s Technical Studies. Here are some creative variations on Studies I, II, III, V and VII. All the variations are progressive so I guarantee they get harder and will be useful to players at all levels and styles. There are two essential books that just about every trumpet player has studied; Arban’s Conservatory Method and Clarke’s Technical Studies. The Arban is fondly referred to as the trumpet player’s bible. If that is the case, then the Clarke should be the new testament. I consider Herbert L. Clarke to be the George Washington of trumpet, as he was the one of the first Americans to achieve greatness as a performer on the cornet. He was also one of the first notable pedagogues and taught such greats as Rafael Mendez and Claude Gordon, who was my teacher. I am fond of telling my students that they are the great-grandchildren of H. L. Clarke, one of our country’s first great virtuosos. The impetus for this set of variations is based on the idea of an Expanding Scale or Expanding Range. Each set will start with a small range of notes covering an interval such as a 5th and will expand over the course of the study to the whole range of the trumpet. The idea is to imagine you are holding one note and let your fingers do the rest. This concept is, of course, metaphorical but if employed will greatly enhance your technique and efficiency. This is a progressive course, so it is recommended that you practice the studies in the order they are presented. Make note of the intervals in each study. Study 1 is all chromatic, so it is easier to transition from one note to another. The second group is based on Clarke Study 5 and is all diatonic. The third group is based on Clarke Study 2 which is diatonic with some thirds. The fourth group is based on Clarke Study 3 which is arpeggios. So with each group the intervals get a little more challenging. I’ve also included more chromatic work based on Studies 7 & 8.

Premiered May 2, 2013. Notes about the Music: In the spring of 2012, I was in Minnesota attending some performances, and had the fortunate opportunity of catching up with Matthew George, conductor of the Grand Symphonic Winds. Matt had given the world premiere performance of my Concerto for Brass Quintet (Dodecafecta), and has always had a major presence in the formation of new works for winds, so I was very delighted when he brought up the idea of a new work for his group. The Grand Symphonic Winds, in honor of their 25th anniversary, were looking to celebrate the influx of many international cultures which had become a significant part of the landscape in Minnesota. This immediately called out to me in musical terms, namely in the forms of rhythms and spirituality (hence the title!) The piece opens and closes with heroic and beautiful music, signifying (to me) what most cultures seem to all be saying, but in different languages: we all just want peace, harmony and love. The entire middle section is very rhythmic, using many percussion instruments found in different cultures, also represented in Minnesota: Latin America (claves, bongos), Africa (Djembe) and if possible, Southeast Asia (Dholak). And just for fun, I even spelled out Minnesota in Morse code, but this was merely for my own enjoyment! I wish to thank Matt George, for all he has done for the field of music in Wind Ensembles, and specifically to him and the Grand Symphonic Winds for entrusting to me the responsibility of composing this new work, which I truly hope finds its home in the literature. Jim Stephenson March, 2013 Instrumentation: Wind Ensemble – one per part, except: 2 tubas recommended, French Horns doubled Recommended: Rhythm percussion sit in the middle of the ensemble, or immediately in front of the conductor, where visible to audience. Percussion instruments needed: Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Cymb. a2 Claves, Djembe, Marimba, Triangle, Vibes, Bongos (or Dholak) Xylophone, Glock., Tambourine, Sus. Cymb. Ocarina - Digital Download SKU: A0.1025645 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Rebecca Lutz. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score. 19 pages. Rebecca Lutz #4991889. Published by Rebecca Lutz (A0.1025645). Ocarinas come in many shapes, sizes, and tonal ranges, which can make it a challenge to find sheet music. This collection of twenty-five well-known Christmas tunes is written in a variety of keys, all suitable for a transverse 12-hole ocarina in C. Because ocarinas come in such a wide variety of pitch ranges, it includes both standard notation and a tablature system so that the player can adjust each piece to fit their instrument, regardless of the key. Additionally, each piece also includes an indication of the overall pitch range, and most tunes fall in the 8-9 note range, which can be played on a 4- or 5- hole ocarina. This also means that the tunes will work for any melody instrument with about an octave range (and the occasional accidental).Song ListAngels We Have Heard On HighAway in a Manger: Melody 1Away in a Manger: Melody 2Bring a Torch, Jeanette IsabellaCoventry CarolDance of the Sugar Plum FairyGod Rest Ye Merry, GentlemenGood King WenceslasHark!
