All twelve movements have now been transcribed and arranged by Regis Bookshar to be played by Trumpet Quintets or Brass Quintets. Some of them have also been arranged for Sextets, Septets, Octets, Nonets and Brass Choirs. Some also include a Timpani. Finally, I have re-voiced a few areas where hands collide in the original to make it easier to negotiate.It is advanced Intermediate is level although a competent Intermediate pianist may be ok with it. Best to look at the youtube to judge which has the whole score.  It is 5 pages and roughly 3 mins 15 in length.It really is a wonderful piece- especially used for concert's weddings, recitals, encore, incidental, recitals etc.

In addition to the piccolo solo, the arrangement includes four C flutes, two alto flutes, and one bass flute, with optional contrabass part. Piccolo and bass parts are mildly challenging; the C flute and alto parts are relatively easy, so this might be a good feature for a group with players of varying experience.

Bach Cantata No. 156 Ich Steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe. Originally, Bach composed it in F major with the oboe being the solo instrument, accompanied by strings. In the early 20th century, it was arranged for cello and piano in G major. This is a beautiful arrangement but is much too difficult for many students who desire to play great music earlier in their journey of cello learning. There is a distinct lack of great music specifically arranged for cello students who are just getting their bearings in the lower positions (up to fourth). After playing this Arioso in C major, transposing directly from the printed G major cello arrangement, I made the decision right then and there to make my own arrangement for this wonderfully sublime piece of music. Transposing it down to C major takes away all the higher positions and reduces the number of accidentals that need to be attended to, thus giving the student a slight advantage in reading the music and eventually performing it, at a higher level of competence.  I have opted, in this version, to leave in all of the ornamentation and intricate rhythms found in the orignal.  This version has already been tested out on several of my own students who found it compelling and exciting to be able to participate in music making of the great music composed by the master of all Western Tonal music, Johann Sebestian Bach.

Four days later Kotek wrote to Tchaikovsky: Thank you in advance for the waltz; it will surely be wonderful, as is everything that you compose... this shall be a piece to impress everybody. In another letter from mid/late February, we read: Incidentally, about the waltz. Why force yourself if you are tired? Of course, I would be delighted and infinitely glad if you were to write the waltz, especially since it is for me. I am still very glad that you have even started to think about this.In the period from March to August, we find no further references to work on the Valse. But, given that in March and April, Tchaikovsky wrote his Fourth Symphony, and that in May he was completely absorbed in composing the opera Yevgeny Onegin, it is likely that by this time the Valse had already been completed.It seems that the waltz was partly or wholly orchestrated by Kotek after Tchaikovsky completed the version for violin with piano. This is suggested by two letters from Kotek to Tchaikovsky: in October 1878, the violinist reported to Tchaikovsky on an unsuccessful performance of the piece: Could my instrumentation be the reason that the waltz did not please?, and early in 1879 he wrote: I think that I badly orchestrated the Waltz ... what extraordinarily empty sounds!. None of Tchaikovsky's letters refer to the orchestration of the piece.Here for the very first time in aversion for flute and piano - I tried to not transcribe the violin part, but re-write the solo part as it was made for flute.
