Contralto voice and piano - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8769-5E Composed by Juliana Hall. 6 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8769-5E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8769-5E). English.Juliana Hall wrote her song cycle Of That So Sweet Imprisonment for mezzo soprano Stephanie Blythe, for whom Hall had expressed a desire to write a piece. Blythe accepted Hall's proposal, and her request was that Hall write a song cycle for contralto voice. In recounting her motivation for writing this piece, Hall - in a discussion with Blythe at the Fall Island Vocal Arts Seminar (where Hall was the Guest Composer in 2018) - said You know what I think is really so wonderful is how you [Blythe] communicate, from here to there, right to the audience...it just speaks, the words, the text, come right...right to the heart of each person...I was thinking, what a wonderful person, what a wonderful voice...to be able to communicate...I've just got the most perfect singer to take these songs, this wonderful subject of love, and present it to the worldThe seven poems Hall set in Of That So Sweet Imprisonment were chosen from James Joyce's early book of poems, Chamber Music (Elkin Mathews, London) published in 1907.  The poems are arranged in a narrative arc that takes the listener from the presence of love in nature (Strings in the Earth and Air), to the human feeling of emptiness when love is not present (Winds of May), to a description exulting in the joys of human love (Of That So Sweet Imprisonment), to expression of human love such as kissing (In the Dark Pine-Wood), to love's tranformation of a girl into a woman through love making (Bid Adieu), to the feelings of contentment in the early morning after making love (At That Hour When All Things Have Repose), and finally a call for the lovers to go to a special place where they may remain together in love (O Cool is the Valley).Of That So Sweet Imprisonment will be premiered on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in New York City, by Ms. Blythe and pianist Alan Smith, on the third concert of the Sparks & Wiry Cries' NYC songSLAM Festival, entitled Expressions of Love: Stephanie Blythe and Friends.Contents:I. Regis Bookshar #773785. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1173645). Heroic Music - No.   1. La Majeste - Georg Philipp Telemann - Brass Quintet, Timpani - Intermediate - Digital Download.Heroic Music (or Heldenmusik) is a suite of twelve short marches and processionals, written by Georg Philipp Telemann in 1728, and is associated with various attributes of Heroism such as Dignity, Bravery and Alertness. All twelve movements have now been transcribed and arranged by Regis Bookshar to be played by Trumpet Quintets or Brass Quintets. Some of them have also been arranged for Sextets, Septets, Octets, Nonets and Brass Choirs. Some also include a Timpani. They can be purchased individually, or, if you prefer, as a complete set of all twelve at a huge saving.Any of these selections whould be a wonderful addition to any music library. They are perfectly suited to recitals and public performances, can stand alone as short interludes and are generally well received by audiences. They are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these arrangements. These selections are some of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. In the past, these compositions have often been performed by a soloist playing on a Piccolo Trumpet, but these new arrangements are Bb Trumpet friendly as one player stated after playing through them, making them much easier for most high school students. This selection, Heroic Music - No.   1. La Majeste, is arranged for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 2 Bb Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 1 Trombone, 1 Tuba and a Timpani, and is associated with the heroic quality of Dignity. This version is written in the Key of Concert C but a version written in Concert Bb is also available, if you would prefer. There is also a version without Timpani. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (16 pages). These selections are readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I am certain that these wonderful arrangements of Georg Philipp Telemann's Heroic Music will continue to enterain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Published by Deborah Johnson (A0.1068170). This is the MP3 accompaniment track for In the Garden, one of our top sellers because it is such a beloved song for so many. There is no piano or vocals included in the accompaniment track, but a easy-to-follow accompaniment guide to where you can just play along with one or two pianos and add the beautiful vocal oohs and ahs with your small ensemble or choir. NOTE: the track picks up at measure 27. The beginning of the piece is performed acoustically and the instrumental track adds a wonderful build to the arrangement. Our family performed In the Garden for both my grandparent’s memorial services as they loved the song. This arrangement is for piano I and II, octave unison and vocal chorus. In the Garden is arranged as a flowing ballad with piano as the focus. Simple ooh and ah vocals are added for color on a countermelody in this reflective arrangement. Piano II adds an octave melody in a higher register to add more color and can be played by even a beginner pianist. The whole arrangement is easy Intermediate level.Up for a GRAMMY Award, My Father’s Favorite Hymns album is available  here: https://DJWorksMusic.com/products  by Deborah Johnson. Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.785746 Composed by M Ravel. Arranged by Grant Horsley. 20th Century,Contemporary,Romantic Period,Wedding. Score. 6 pages. Grant Horsley #6066877. Published by Grant Horsley (A0.785746). This minuet from the fabulous sonatine by Ravel, has been carefully arranged for pianist who would like a slightly easier version to play.It has been arranged in D major from the original D flat for ease of reading. Some large chords have been compromised but all essential harmony is present. Finally, I have re-voiced a few areas where hands collide in the original to make it easier to negotiate. It is advanced Intermediate is level although a competent Intermediate pianist may be ok with it. Best to look at the youtube to judge which has the whole score.  It is 5 pages and roughly 3 mins 15 in length. It really is a wonderful piece- especially used for concert's weddings, recitals, encore, incidental, recitals etc.

Cello Suite No 1 in G major with an accompaniment for a second cello including bowings and fingerings after comparing the 4 surviving manuscripts and early prints in detail.Special attention is given to the 2 early scripts, which copied from Bach's original, the difficult to read copy by Kellner and Anna Magdalena's copy.A continue part has been added, developed by accompanying students for the pure joy of playing together. The accompaniment is dedicated to Robert Schumann, who added for the same reason an accompaniment to Cello Suite No 1, but unfortunately only some sketches have survived. The more elaborate parts to the whole Suite have unfortunately been lost.I thank Schumann for his idea to dare the step, just to add an accompaniment for the pure joy of playing these wonderful movements with friends together.

Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute,Piccolo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1421157 Composed by Anthony George Banks, Mike Rutherford, and Phil Collins. Arranged by D Telgen. Pop,Rock. 56 pages. Neglet Music #1002547. Published by Neglet Music (A0.1421157). A flute choir arrangement of the 1977 Genesis release Pigeons, written by Tony Banks, Phil Collins, & Mike Rutherford. This quirky little pop tune purportedly came about when the songwriters wondered whether you could write a whole song around a repeated note. I loved how the chords changed around that repeated note, and thought it would be fun as a piccolo feature. (Don't worry, that repeated note is shared among the C flutes, not relegated to a single part!)Arranged by D Telgen for piccolo soloist with flute choir accompaniment. In addition to the piccolo solo, the arrangement includes four C flutes, two alto flutes, and one bass flute, with optional contrabass part. Piccolo and bass parts are mildly challenging; the C flute and alto parts are relatively easy, so this might be a good feature for a group with players of varying experience.

Moreland Publishing Company #1015165. Published by Moreland Publishing Company (A0.1435064). This wonderfully patriotic song about the Statue of Liberty will have your audiences on their feet. It embraces the contributions immigrants have made to this country. It’s perfect for Americana/Fourth of July-themed concerts. It features a major solo. The lyrics tell the story.SOLO: Set sail across these waters over a wide and open seaWith my wife and my son and daughters to this land of OpportunityDisembarking at Ellis Island feelings of pride came over meAs the veil of the mist that shrouded her lifted up I could clearly seeStanding tall she lifted my heart, revealing all I’d come to beShe holds the light for my rights, for my life, for my child, for my landCHORUS: She stands for me. Lady Liberty lifted me up. She stands for me SOLO: Two hundred years we now flash forward at the dawn of this brave new worldAs I stand with my eyes gazing upward she still stands with the light in her handIt still shines as bright as it can be for those still longing to breathe freeThough by the waves we are tossed as we weather the storms she still shows us who we can beStanding tall she lifted my heart, showing all we’d come to beStands for the lonely and lost and those tempest tossed she still standsCHORUS: She stands for me. Lady Liberty lifted me up. She stands for me VARIOUS SOLOS: I am the farmer standing by my plowThe small business owner makes a go of it nowI am the dreamer through no fault of mineBut still wanting a life and a future that’s bright/ We are the couple blessed by eyes aboveBut stripped of our rights because of who we love We are the tired, the oppressed and the poorThe huddled masses at the golden doorCHORUS: We are a people of all colors and creedsTogether we’re strong in our diversityLady Liberty lifted me up. Cello,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1434238 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Aaron Sinnett. Baroque,Chamber,Classical,Religious. Score and part. 9 pages. Aaron Sinnett #1013961. Published by Aaron Sinnett (A0.1434238). Arioso is a movement from J.S. Bach Cantata No. 156 Ich Steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe. Originally, Bach composed it in F major with the oboe being the solo instrument, accompanied by strings. In the early 20th century, it was arranged for cello and piano in G major. This is a beautiful arrangement but is much too difficult for many students who desire to play great music earlier in their journey of cello learning. There is a distinct lack of great music specifically arranged for cello students who are just getting their bearings in the lower positions (up to fourth). After playing this Arioso in C major, transposing directly from the printed G major cello arrangement, I made the decision right then and there to make my own arrangement for this wonderfully sublime piece of music. Transposing it down to C major takes away all the higher positions and reduces the number of accidentals that need to be attended to, thus giving the student a slight advantage in reading the music and eventually performing it, at a higher level of competence.  I have opted, in this version, to leave in all of the ornamentation and intricate rhythms found in the orignal.  This version has already been tested out on several of my own students who found it compelling and exciting to be able to participate in music making of the great music composed by the master of all Western Tonal music, Johann Sebestian Bach.

Flute,Piano - Digital Download SKU: A0.1035219 Composed by Piotr Tchaikovski. Arranged by James Strauss. Halloween,Hanukkah,Romantic Period,World. Score and part. 16 pages. James Strauss #5297983. Published by James Strauss (A0.1035219). Writing to his brother Modest on 18/30 January 1877, Tchaikovsky mentioned that the violinist Iosif Kotek had ordered a piece from him for a forthcoming concert. Four days later Kotek wrote to Tchaikovsky: Thank you in advance for the waltz; it will surely be wonderful, as is everything that you compose... this shall be a piece to impress everybody. In another letter from mid/late February, we read: Incidentally, about the waltz. Why force yourself if you are tired? Of course, I would be delighted and infinitely glad if you were to write the waltz, especially since it is for me. I am still very glad that you have even started to think about this.In the period from March to August, we find no further references to work on the Valse. But, given that in March and April, Tchaikovsky wrote his Fourth Symphony, and that in May he was completely absorbed in composing the opera Yevgeny Onegin, it is likely that by this time the Valse had already been completed. It seems that the waltz was partly or wholly orchestrated by Kotek after Tchaikovsky completed the version for violin with piano. This is suggested by two letters from Kotek to Tchaikovsky: in October 1878, the violinist reported to Tchaikovsky on an unsuccessful performance of the piece: Could my instrumentation be the reason that the waltz did not please?, and early in 1879 he wrote: I think that I badly orchestrated the Waltz ... what extraordinarily empty sounds!. None of Tchaikovsky's letters refer to the orchestration of the piece. Here for the very first time in aversion for flute and piano - I tried to not transcribe the violin part, but re-write the solo part as it was made for flute.
