String Ensemble,String Trio Cello,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1079813 Composed by Anon. Arranged by Alan Edgar. Folk,Traditional. Score and parts. 22 pages. Alan Edgar Ted Moon #684009. Published by Alan Edgar Ted Moon (A0.1079813). Rondo featuring Ukrainian folk tunes. One cannot often find the origin of a folk tune or a definitive form, and bewares of modern arrangements( mine too!) The REFRAIN is Kolomeike, кoлoмийкa, a very quick duple-time dance tune, with a variable scale, popular in Ukraine for weddings and other festive occasions, often led by the violin with many smears. EPISODES are mostly sad love-songs: A. Чом ти не прийшов: a girl (Viola) sings Why did you not come and meet me in the moonlight? Wouldn't your mother let you? Dorian mode. B. Slow Waltz: I have seen this with G major accompaniment, but I have used G mixolydian: a popular mode in Ukraine. The Cello has the melody. C. O, in the cherry orchard Ой, у Вишневому Саду. A girl (Viola) sings that she begged her boyfriend to take her home from the orchard, as it was late, but he took a different girl. Mother (Violin) knows what has been going on, but is sympathetic. G minor. And D Tanietz: a very fast dance tune led by the Violin: I do not know its name. Then E a reprise of the Cherry Orchard. F.Ти ж мене підманула You tricked me and let me down. The Violin has the melody. I have seen and heard this sung cheerfully and very fast, but its lyrics are really sad. Players will choose. The basic melody was attributed to Semen Klimovski. DURATION: 11 minutes. INSTRUMENTATION: Violin,Viola, Cello.

Published by Meng-Hsuan Gloria Lin (A0.925403). I created the idea about this song which about my mental journey at the supposed final year (I hope so) of my PhD career. But, while I was writing this music, the situation of the HongKong protest became more and more terrible. So this song also dedicated to HongKong. Number of the price 20.191112 represents the date HK police attacked the campuses of three universities in HK. At last, as a Taiwanese, wish Taiwan wouldn't allow that kind of government take our island.

Piano,Voice - Digital Download SKU: A0.1059517 Composed by Lorin Nelson, David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Children,Contemporary. Full Performance. Duration 117. David Warin Solomons #3397197. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1059517). Three little pigs one sunny day Saw a wolf and they ran away They ran to the home of the chimpanzee But he wouldn't let them have the key They ran to the home of the friendly cow But she couldn't let them in just now They ran to the home of the great wild boar By now their trotters were getting sore The wild boar told them to run and hide So they ran and ran and they squealed and sighed And they ran to the horse and they begged some straw But the horse shooed them off so they ran some more Then the pigs they reached the farmer's house And were welcomed in by the tenant mouse The mouse she said to the pigs all three I'll help you if you'll help me You've got a wolf and I've got a cat We need to collaborate on that So they hatched a plot to rid themselves Of all the cats and all the wolves But as they sat and hatched their plan They forgot to post a lookout man So mouse and pigs I regret to say Were no more seen. 'Cos they ran away!
3 little pigs (mp3)
now their trotters were getting sore

The wild boar told them to run and hide

So they ran and ran and they squealed and sighed

And they ran to the horse and they begged some straw

But the horse shooed them off so they ran some more

Then the pigs they reached the farmer's house

And were welcomed in by the tenant mouse

The mouse she said to the pigs all three

I'll help you if you'll help me

You've got a wolf and I've got a cat

We need to collaborate on that

So they hatched a plot to rid themselves

Of all the cats and all the wolves

But as they sat and hatched their plan

They forgot to post a lookout man

So mouse and pigs I regret to say

Were no more seen
'Cos they ran away!

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869398 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 38 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #432015. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869398). Instrumentation: Violins 1a. Violins 1b. Violins 2a. Violins 2b. Viola. Cello. Double bass. Program note. I go to Rome every year during my winter break from teaching. My favorite statue in the Galleria Borghese is Bernini's Apollo and Daphne. It is amazingly alive and beautiful. When the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston asked me to write a work for string orchestra, I immediately thought of the fabulous Apollon Musagète by Stravinsky. Wouldn't it be fun to write a companion piece to the Stravinsky and call it Daphne? And since the Stravinsky Apollo is a ballet, my Daphne would be one as well, although an imaginary one. Daphne is in three sections. 1. Moderato ... Apollo struts around at a party, flirting with the nymphs and then suddenly he notices Daphne. He falls in love immediately. 2. Fuga ... Unnerved by Apollo's attention, Daphne flees. Apollo chases after her. 3. Largo ... Apollo catches up to Daphne and declares his love for her. She struggled to free herself from him and calls for help. To save Daphne from Apollo, her father Ladon, the river god, transforms Daphne into a laurel tree. Euphonium,Flute,Percussion - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1141962 Composed by Sy Brandon. 20th Century,Chamber,Children,Classical. 63 pages. Sy Brandon #742339. Published by Sy Brandon (A0.1141962). “Allegories” is a five-movement composition based upon Aesop’s Fables. It was commissioned by and dedicated to Frank Meredith. The first movement “The Trumpeter Taken Captive” is a fable about how one’s actions affect the outcome. The trumpeter, who incites others to do battle, is as guilty as those who slay the enemy. The euphonium represents the trumpeter by playing battle tunes. Then the ensemble plays capture music, begging music, fatal music representing the slaying of the trumpeter (euphonium), and finally music representing the moral of the story. “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” is the basis for the second movement. The allegory is that nobody believes a liar. The flute plays a shepherd’s tune to represent the bored shepherd boy. The ensemble plays excited music three times as the boy cries wolf, the first two times just to amuse himself. After the third time when nobody responds to his cries, the flute plays a lament to end the movement. The third movement reflects the story of “The Goose That Laid The Golden Egg.” A golden euphonium melody accompanied by rich harmony represents the golden eggs laid by the goose. The ensemble then plays greedy music that is followed by a minor key lament as the farmer has killed his rich source of income because of his greed. A sweet dancing flute solo begins movement four appropriately named “The Fisherman and His Flute.” This short fable has the allegory of “timing is everything.” The poor fisherman expected the fish to jump out of the sea in response to his flute playing to no avail. When the ensemble plays a similar tune, it represents his success when he uses his net. The fisherman says “you bloody fish, when I played the flute you wouldn’t dance, but as soon I stopped, you started up.” The race between the “Tortoise and the Hare” is the subject of the last movement. The plodding euphonium represents the tortoise and the fast and agile flute represents the hare. The flute takes a nap in the middle of the movement and by the time the flute wakes up, it is too late to catch up with the slow and steady tortoise. The race is not always to the swift.

Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.927181 Composed by George Willson. Blues,Jazz. Score and parts. 46 pages. George Willson #6359467. Published by George Willson (A0.927181). Written for the T-Town Jazz Band and named for a Tulsa landmark, this is a big band swing tune in F minor blues with solos and exposure aplenty most notably in the third trombone part. The piece follows a chap who is happily walking (or jaunting) down Cherry Street. Three other guys come in and pick up his melody as a unison trio. This moves into a quick verse in the ensemble before the four players each take a solo turn almost like a combo. The party then takes off with the full band before it moves back to the trio wandering off while crowd bids them farewell and the original soloist takes a final turn. The reason there is such a focus on the third trombone is because this piece is dedicated to Dale Turner who was the third trombone player in the T-Town Jazz Band and a founding member of the band. We tried to get him to improv a solo here and there, but he wouldn't do it. We figured if we wrote it into his part, he would play it, and so the next piece I was writing was Cherry Street Jaunt, so the 3rd trombone got a lot of love. Unfortunately, the band had to shut down for a time due to COVID-19, and during that time, Dale passed due to complications from it. As a result, he never saw the part I wrote to trick him into a solo. The MP3 is generated from the composition program, but the video link is a live performance.

Contest,Festival,Historic,Multicultural,World. Brass Band. 189 pages. Danetre Music #1052989. Published by Danetre Music (A0.1475437). A Suite for British Style Brass Band. Each movement is based on a famous French Impressionist painting as follows:1. Boulevard Montmarte (Pissarro 1897)The Boulevard Montmartre is one of the four grand boulevards of Paris. This painting gave me the idea of writing a piece to portray a journey in a pony and trap through this busy street scene, starting out serenely in the suburbs, travelling through all the hustle and bustle, before trailing off into the distance. An all pervasive Poulenc mouvement perpetual accompaniment style is present throughout this movement.2. Lac d'Annecy (Czanne - 1896)Although marked Waltz triste (sad waltz), the mood of the music is rather reflective in nature. This movement is the longest of the five and I would not recommend it being played too slow. Stylistically, it is a characteristic accordion piece, so touches of rubato here and there wouldnt be out of keeping.3. La Cathdrale de Rouen (Monet - 1894)This is the most difficult movement to play in respect of intonation, with lots of unisons, octaves and parallel intervals. The opening should be a true piano in order to allow the piece grow. The plainsong statements should be played smoothly and with plenty of air.4. Les Parapluies (Renoir - 1884)A jaunty, playful theme leading in to a little fugue. A little low in places for the euphoniums and baritones. The music should skip along comfortably without rushing to allow the finer detail to come through.5. Au Moulin Rouge (Toulouse-Lautrec - 1895)A lively tempo, always chasing forward without slackening. As in the previous movement, good dynamic contrast, swells and tight precise articulation. Lots of work for everyone, especially the baritones and euphoniums. Take care that the mf dynamic of the 'bass solo' is not overdone. If needs must, the siren whistle could be substituted with a referee's whistle, but I would like my duck call! The champagne cork 'pops' are really more visual than audible, however, it would be advisable for more of the band to join in, as required. A super work to add to your repertoire as a concert or contest item. This title has already been played by a number of bands in various competitions, and was chosen as the 4th Section Test Piece for the Butlins Mineworkers Brass Band Championships 2015 in Skegness, UK.

Published by Adam Walter Carlsen (A0.1246984). I wrote this left hand piano piece based on a short narrative I made that has a question/observation followed by the answer. The Heart's Deep AppetitesWe Hunger for more than food. There is also hunger for love and self-worth. We need food to sustain us, and love and self-worth to carry us. Therefore, wouldn't it be wise to do what it takes to satisfy our hunger?Hunger also exists for that which gives us only temporal pleasure. One cannot exist focusing on satisfying this hunger. Our potential should only be used to fulfill our purpose of showing love and self-worth, and sharing it with others. The support of loved ones will see you through adversity and failure, allowing you to chase your dream and achieve your potential. However, one must be careful not to pursue an identity that is cunsuming, as it may overshadow your dream. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/adam.carlsen.35Twitter: https://twitter.com/AdamCarlsen2Website: AdamCarlsenMusic.com.
