The verse with the lyric Won't you come along with me / To the Mississippi... was later added by Glenn Miller and Jack Teagarden. The Basin Street of the title refers to the main street of Storyville, the red-light district of early 20th-century New Orleans, north of the French Quarter. It became a red light district in 1897.

Voice (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1087716 By Charlie Parker. By Charlie Parker. Arranged by Jennifer Barnes. Jazz. Vocal Jazz Ensemble. 35 pages. Jennifer Barnes Music #691930. Published by Jennifer Barnes Music (A0.1087716). This is a fun and special arrangement was written to pay tribute to jazz trumpet icon Roy Hargrove and legendary alto saxophonist Charlie Parker, and it swings hard with minimal and highly accessible ensemble parts in addition to lots of solos. I have indicated that this chart could be either Level III or Level IV because there is an optional chorus of the chart (letters “E†through “Hâ€) that features a combination of the transcribed Roy Hargrove trumpet solo and Charlie Parker alto sax solo sung by solo vocalists. If you prefer to leave it out, you can skip to the improvisation section at letter “I†and you’ll have a Level III arrangement. If you tackle the Hargrove/Parker solos, you’ll have a Level IV — your call. There’s also a layered improvisation section that builds to the end. If you want to feature soloists both in melodic and improvising roles, this chart has what you’re looking for! Full-length demo available at JenniferBarnesMusic.com.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1156277 Composed by E.Sati. Arranged by Han-Ki Kim. 20th Century,Chamber,Instructional. 6 pages. Han-Ki Kim #756593. Published by Han-Ki Kim (A0.1156277). Gymnopedi is one of the annual events of ancient Sparta, a dance festival in memory of the soldiers who died in the Battle of Troy. The word gymnopedi was used by Sati as a quotation from Gymnopaedia, the word for a festival mentioned above. It was composed in 1888, at the age of 22 by Erik Satie (1866-1925/ France), a heretical composer in the 20th century music world. He originally composed three gymnopedies, of which I arranged the second one for String Quartet. The song is stated to be slow and sad. Overall, it represents a bizarre and melancholic atmosphere. In , a pure and honest piece of music with a simple composition and melody, you can feel Sati's lonely life.

Con Spirito Music #857095. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1264232). All Things Bright and Beautiful is a beloved hymn written by Cecil Frances Alexander (1818-1895), an Anglo-Irish poet known for her hymns There is a Green Hill Far Away and Once in Royal David's City as well as her metrical paraphrase of St. Patrick's Breastplate (a prayer attributed to Patrick, patron saint of Ireland), known by its opening words, I bind unto myself today the strong name of the Trinity. An exposition of the clause of the Apostles' Creed that describes God as maker of heaven and earth, All Things Bright and Beautiful was published in Alexander's Hymns for Little Children in 1848. It was later included in The English Hymnal (1906) with a tune composed by W.H. Monk in 1887.All Things Bright and Beautiful is also frequently sung to the hymn tune ROYAL OAK, adapted from a 17th-century English folk tune, The Twenty-Ninth of May and published in the collection of English country dances, The Dancing Master, in 1686. This tune was first associated with Alexander's poem in a 1916 arrangement published by English composer Martin Shaw (1875-1978) and earned wide popularity after its inclusion in the 1925 English hymnal, Songs of Praise. This accompaniment to unison voices for organ and brass quintet is based on the ROYAL OAK tune. Includes full score, parts for organ, Bb trumpets 1-2, F horn, trombone, tuba, and reproducible bulletin insert.©Copyright 2023 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music (ASCAP). Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1309638 Composed by Thomas Shacklady. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Multicultural,Patriotic,Praise & Worship,Traditional,World. 42 pages. Keith Terrett #898806. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1309638). An arrangement made especially for the Band of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary of ''O Arise, All You Sons''., one og PNG's two professional military bands, the other belongs to the PNG Defence Force both based in Port Morsebly the nations captital.O Arise, All You Sons is the national anthem of Papua New Guinea. Adopted in 1975, it was written and composed by Thomas Shacklady, a former Royal Marine who took over the band from Inspector David Crawley. I took over the band from 1994-99, after taking the band on two overseas tours to Adelaide in 1996 & Kobe in 1999.The National Identity Act of Papua New Guinea was formulated in 1971, motivating the country to create a national flag, a national emblem, a national pledge and a national anthem. A national flag and emblem were adopted in 1971. However, the national anthem remained undecided until independence from Australia in 1975, four years later. Although many songs were submitted to be the anthem, the National Executive Council decided a week before the country's Independence Day (10 September 1975), to adopt as the national anthem a composition that was composed by Chief Inspector Thomas Shacklady (1917–2006), a bandmaster of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary Band.During the 2015 Pacific Games opening ceremony, the anthem was sung with the first line altered from O arise all you sons of this land to O arise sons and daughters of this land. An official later stated that this was illegal and a violation of the National Identity Act.

Alto Saxophone,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533347 Composed by Ali Ben Sou Alle, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Paul Wehage. Concert,Opera,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 22 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #2348197. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533347). One of the most enigmatic figures in the history of the Saxophone, Ali Ben Sou Alle (Charles-Valentin Soualle) was born in 1820 in Arras, France. After receiving his first prize in Clarinet at the Paris Conservatory in 1844. he served as the director ofmusic of The French Marine Band in Senegal, and then was named first clarinet solo at the Opéra-Comique in Paris. However, after the Revolution of 1848, Soualle was forced to flee France to England where he settled in London, playing in the Orchestra of the Queen's Theatre. His songs and piano pieces were published in London. While in London, Soualle met another exiled French musician, Louis Antoine Jullien, who conducted a light music series in London. Jullien encouraged Soualle to take up the saxophone, and after modifying the instrument by adding a single octave mechanism (the modern system used today) and keys for the lower register, Soualle became known as a virtuoso and began touring performing solo recitals (or mono-concerts, as they were called at the time) calling his modified saxophone the «turcophone ». He performed in all the European capitals and then traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Manilla, Java, through China and then to India where he finally settled in Mysore, becoming the director of the Royal Music for the Maharadjah. It was during this period that he converted to Islam and changed his nmae to Ali ben Sou Alle (or Ali, son of Soualle). He subsequently travaled to Ile Maurice, to French Polynesia, the Cap of Natal and the Cap of Good Hope. All of these voyages were subjects of musical works which Soualle entitled Souvenirs de... and may perhaps have been part of a collection known as The Royal Album which was presented to the Prince of Wales after a royal concert. Soualle returned to Mysore in 1858 and was almost killed in the Indian Revolution. Around 1860, Soualle returned to France for health reasons and began publishing his own music. On March 27 1865, he performed a command performance for the Emperor Napoleon III at the Tuileries Palace in the presence of the entire Imperial Family. After 1865, nothing more is known about him. Soualle not only performed on the clarinet, saxophone and piano, but also frequently sang during his concerts. He also wrote songs while he was in London. His opera fantasies are usually written for the Alto saxophone and are generally in the form of an introductory aria with cadenza, a theme with one or more variations and then a final waltz movement in rondo form with a final brillant variation. This specific work opens with motives from the Opera‘s overture, leading to Donna Anna’s 1st act aria Or sai, chi l'onore. The duet Là ci darem la mano is the subject of two variations followed by a brief interlude using Zerlina’s aria Batti, batti, o bel Masetto and then the final section is the duo Andiam’ Andiam ‘ Mio Bene between Don Giovanni and Zerlina which ends the Act I duet. The work ends with a brillant coda
