Instrumental Solo,Tin Whistle - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1163044 By John Denver and Placido Domingo. By John Denver. Arranged by Cindy Blevins. Pop. Individual part. 12 pages. Cindy Blevins #763398. Published by Cindy Blevins (A0.1163044). Note: You can see an excerpt of both the solo without fingerings and the solo with fingerings. The blank pages you may see in the samples are there on purpose to avoid showing more than the music sample. This arrangement is for solo (unaccompanied) Tin Whistle. You receive the tin whistle part without fingering diagrams, the same part but WITH fingering diagrams and a comprehensive fingering chart for your tin whistle. So if you enjoy playing the notes on the staff, there is a part for you! And if you need the diagrams for learning, or for using every time, there's a part for you! Tin whistle isn't just for Irish music, it is extremely versatile and fun to play! Please note, my Tin Whistle is a high D. I write for D whistle because it is a very common key that many people have. The fingering chart I put together shows the D scale, with chromatic fingerings you may need some day! But if you're playing a different key of whistle, you can also play this piece. It is unaccompanied, and all keys of tin whistle are fingered the same. So follow the part with diagrams if you need to.If you have a pianist in your life, there is a piano and tin whistle arrangement of this piece listed separately (I am not allowed to bundle them for reasons of copyright).

Oboe Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.784326 Composed by Joshua Hauser. Instructional. Individual part. 38 pages. Slide Ride #5288643. Published by Slide Ride (A0.784326). 1 Octave Scale Studies in 15+ keys for 4-part ensembles of like or mixed instruments If this is your first exposure to these scale studies, you are in for a treat! Donuts, if you make a mistake! The initial incarnation of these studies were written for trombone quartet and we would play them in the Tennessee Tech Trombone Choir with the challenge that whomever made the first mistake had to buy donuts for the rest of the ensemble. Since then I have brought that version to several clinics and warm up sessions. One time before I got to explain the title, a fellow trombone professor said, Oh, I get it! Don’t step in the holes!I only wish I had thought of that myself... Since we have one of the best donut shops in TN here in Cookeville, treating the studio to sugar coated goodies was always my intent. As with those initial exercises, you can vary these as much as you’d like.·     Choose a tempo.·     Choose a dynamic.·     Choose an articulation/style.One way I like to play these is to have one person be the model, playing the entire scale over and over while everyone else plays the fragmented versions. That helps everyone to keep on track and stay in time. Double or triple up the parts for ensemble cohesion with a larger group.Practice one key, gradually speeding it up to improve fluidity, or choose a variation and take it through all keys, playing version A, B, C, or D then skipping to play the same set in a new key.If you want an additional challenge, play them in different octaves or change the key. Play the F Major set in f minor (all forms), different modes, etc. Players really have to be on their toes to remember if they are playing melodic minor in the ascending or descending form! For jazz players, try swinging them in dorian or mixolydian modes. The variations are endless! If you are using these with transposing instruments, 1) is F Major in Concert Pitch, 2) is Bb Major in Concert pitch, and so on. When you reach a scale that is enharmonic for another key (Db/C#, Gb/F#, or Cb/B), they are presented in both keys for each instrument so Trumpets can play in Eb while the Flutes are playing in C# with similar examples for all keys. All Donut Etudes with the same volume number are compatible so you can play them in mixed quartets or large ensembles with one or more instruments/people on part 1 and a different instrument on part 2, etc. Since the quartets are all identical, conductors/coaches can use any of the scores to tell which part should be playing at what time. Once you have played a scale with one set of parts, everyone can rotate to a different part and play the same scales again!Enjoy!

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.904849 Composed by Giorgia Todrani, Maurizio Fabrizio. Arranged by Marco Borsoi. Jazz,Pop,World. Octavo. 21 pages. Marco Borsoi #3512071. Published by Marco Borsoi (A0.904849). --------------- Strano il mio Destino is a piece of music by the Italian singer-songwriter Giorgia, 3rd at the Sanremo Festival 1996. The piece is on the album Strano il mio destino (Live & studio 95/96). Authors of the song are Giorgia and Maurizio Fabrizio. This original harmonization for mixed SATB choir and piano, enhances even more the melodic and harmonic characteristics of the piece, making it even more unique and magical. The song is about a woman who reflects on a past story. A story that she herself wanted or had to close, but certainly not without regrets; What a woman I will be, if you are not with me and if I will love you more and more.... And she thinks: Strange is my fate, that brings me here…; a fate that compels her, for some reason, to reflect on her past, bringing her back to the moment in which she decided to leave away in silence. A destiny that, even today, surprises her to rethink about that love but without indicating a new way to go, because, even if all that love, I have swept it away ..., it hurts not to think about you. In the refrain, a hope emerges (underlined by the opening of the melody): I will not lose you, beyond time and distance I will go ...; hope that is confirmed in the last stanza: It is clear my destiny ... I will reach you, when the girl also understands that not everything depends on her: I will try to shout and maybe you will hear, my voice calling you, if you want . And hope, become certainty, returns with the repetition, emphasized by the melodic impetus, of the concluding sentence ... not to leave you, anymore.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1145015 By Herbie Hancock. By Herbie Hancock. Arranged by Kyle Pudenz. Jazz,Standards. Score and parts. 31 pages. ViolinVagabond Music #745332. Published by ViolinVagabond Music (A0.1145015). Settle into the groove with this tasteful interpretation of a modal jazz staple for the modern string quartet!! I didn’t seek to re-invent the wheel with this arrangement, but rather to capture some of its signature jazz combo swagger while fitting the signature lines & licks into string-friendly voicings. I did add an original intro & outro, which will give a bit more pizazz to your live performance than the fade out from Herbie’s original album version. The full chart includes written-out solos for each member of the quartet. I highly encourage improvising your own solos if you are comfortable, or even vamping one or more of the solo sections to really stretch out as you watch your next cocktail hour gig fly by! For a shorter (and significantly more lame…) performance, you can instead cut one or more of the solo sections from letter C thru F to save time. This arrangement makes use of modern extended string techniques in order to create a rhythmic foundation without the need for additional rhythm instruments, including chopping and ghost notes. If you are unfamiliar with these concepts, various resources exist all over the internet to aid you in your quest towards having better time. I recommend this series, for example: https://strum-bowing-groove-academy.teachable.com?coupon_code=KYLE20&affcode=459429_z8y3atf That being said, if broadening your horizons to the world of percussive string playing just doesn't sound like your cup of tea, I have included a Rhythm Section Chart for performances with drums/percussion, guitar, bass, etc. It is highly recommended for you to use either the chopping parts or rhythm section musicians. If you use neither, you may feel as if something is missing in your life that you just can’t pinpoint. Don’t worry, I’ll pinpoint it for you: BACKBEATS. One way or another, you need them. And I’ve given you multiple options here so if you can’t make this chart groove that’s on you… Performance time - approximately 5:00 for the full chart as written. As mentioned above, solo sections can be repeated with improv or cut without requiring significant chart changes, to adjust to the needs of your specific performance. Each solo section is ~30 seconds if you want to do the math on that. Questions? Feel free to contact me via my website, www.kylepudenz.com/ or on the 'Insta @theviolinvagabond. Would love to hear your performances if you play this chart out live, so please send videos along and tag me!

Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.947280 Composed by John Philips. Jazz. Score and parts. 36 pages. John Philips Music Service #3867733. Published by John Philips Music Service (A0.947280). This is a funky 2 beat built on double (24 bar) blues. It has an optional vocal,( cued in for alto sax) that should be sung thru a megaphone like the old Winchester Cathedral. The title comes from a pattern of speech found only in Chicago where people still say over by here and over by there. It swings well and invites a couple tambourines playing on 2 and 4. This is a fun chart but is very correct musically even if you expect the Blues Brothers to show up when it’s played. It can be opened for solos if needed. Don’t get too serious about the vocal, it’s best with your worst singer, maybe with a clothes-pin on his nose.   Enjoy it with your audience. If you want a Maynard or Buddy chart, look elsewhere. This series of charts uses nothing more complicated than eighth notes, are not frantic or screamers, extreme ranges and are hemi-demi-semi-quaver free. They depend on intonation and the players being not intimidated by what he is asked to play. There is no contest to see how high you can go before you need oxygen , how many notes you can play in 9 seconds or before your bell overheats , or how long it takes the audience to cover their earsRelaxed and confident players always play more in tune. Good harmonies, lines and realistic rhythm patterns will produce a good result that will swing and be enjoyed by player and listener alike.

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841250 Composed by Chris Gordon. Contemporary. Octavo. 18 pages. Cool Wind Music Digital #3029087. Published by Cool Wind Music Digital (A0.841250). A setting of a very powerful poem by English poet, Ted Hughes, about the onset of autumn in an English (Yorkshire) garden and the surrounding countryside.  It is full of pathos and passion, harmony and dissonance, chaos and peace - just like English weather! This is a very individual and innovative choral setting of Hughes' poem which is, itself, rich in 'meaty' metaphor and colour - and the composer is a vegetarian! It evokes a savage Nature within a savage landscape where humans and animals compete for space and for food. It is October, the fields and woods and gardens of rural Yorkshire are readying themselves for the cold and desolation (and despair) of winter which isn't far away in time. 'A glass, half-filled with wine, left out(side) To the dark heaven all night, by dawn Has dreamed a premonition of ice across its eye as if the ice-age had begun its heave.'   That is only two and a half stanzas but you see from these lines that there are veiled threats of (Nature's) violence in the heavy tread of the poet's slowly-building angst over what is happening in the surrounding countryside - and his fear grows, and his awe grows, with every line. There is even fear underlining the very last line: 'And now it is about to start.' Winter is creeping closer and closer towards the house and it will not be pleasant to experience!I have tried to instil a little of this in the music which keeps skidding from consonance to dissonance and back to consonance. Sometimes the dissonance piles up, like snow driven by the wind piles up into deep banks; sometimes the music relaxes into stillness and calm (painted in tonal music) like a crisp, mild late autumn or early winter's day when the sun warms the landscape and life appears bearable, tolerable. I hope this adds to the song's 'charm'. It wasn't easy to write: sometimes the right music was elusive. The music ends with the word 'October' repeated three times, with voices overlapping in a little canon. This conjures up the wistful feelings of the poet as he looks out onto a peaceful scene, soon to be filled with all manner of 'natural violence', while his inner peace will soon be shattered by the mayhem about to be unleashed around him.Setting Ted Hughes is no easy task. It is for choirs and choirmasters to judge if I have succeeded in conveying the 'sense and sensibility' of a classic 20th century English poem. The price is for one copy: please purchase a sufficient number of scores if you intend to perform this work. One might think this would be sad, violent music, but each earthly creature is shown in its musical habitat where it happily does what it does best....bees buzzing around flowers, cuckoos gently calling in the forest, Walruses jumping not so gracefully onto sea ice, Jaguars quietly stalking their prey. The habitat changes are depicted by gradual use of unstable scales, and the sometimes hidden ancient tune of the Dies Irae, the Day of Wrath. The point I wish to make is how humans must be watchful of wildlife habitats because we are all in this limited world together. Where wild creatures go, so do we. It was best said by Jane Goodall: Only if we understand can we care. Only if we care will we help. Only if we help shall they be saved. Walruses are huge aquatic animals who are powerful and swift in the water, but when they jump onto sea ice to rest, they are anything but graceful. They are a bit comical, really. Subsistence hunters in the Bering Strait of Alaska are having trouble with their Spring hunts due to gradual warming of the arctic waters. Sea ice is getting thinner and the Walruses they rely upon to live are getting too far away. This Walrus Jump music is a pretty happy sounding boogie woogie that shows signs of musical distress as it goes on.

Here is a timeless country classic arranged for piano solo.  A song the whole family will love to sing.Little Green Apples is a classic country song that was recorded by Glen Campbell in 1968.  It was written by Bobby Russell and became a major hit, reaching the top 40 charts in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The song’s popularity has endured over the years, and it remains a beloved classic in the country music genre. Bobby Gentry sang this song in a wonderful duet with Glenn on his T.V. show.[Verse 1]Well, I wake up in the mornin' with my hair down in my eyesAnd she says, HiAnd I hurry to the breakfast table while the kids are goin' off to school, GoodbyeAnd she reaches out and takes my handAnd squeezes it and says, How you feelin', Hon?And I look across at smilin' lips that warms my heartAnd I see my mornin' sun[Pre-Chorus]And if that's not lovin' meThen all I've got to say[Chorus]God didn't make the little green applesAnd it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summertimeThere's no such thing as Dr. SuessDisneyland and Mother Goose, no nursery rhymeGod didn't make the little green applesAnd it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summertimeAnd when my self is feelin' lowI think about your face aglow and ease my mind[Verse 2]Sometimes I call him up knowin' he's busyAnd ask if he could get away and meet meMaybe grab a bite to eatAnd he drops what he's doin' and hurries down to meet meAnd I'm always lateHe sits waitin' patiently and smiles when he first sees me'Cause he's made that way [Pre-Chorus]And if that's not lovin' meThen all I've got to say[Chorus]God didn't make the little green applesAnd it don't snow in Indianapolis when the winter comeThere's no such thing as make-believePuppy dogs and autumn leaves, no BB gunGod didn't make the little green applesAnd it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summertimeAnd when my self is feelin' lowI think about your face aglow and ease my mind

1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1127872 Composed by Philip Le Bas. Chamber,Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,World. Score. 12 pages. Philip Le Bas #728481. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1127872). Incidental music composed for piano duet (4-hands) in four parts by Philip Le Bas to accompany the Japanese folk tale (ghost story) Yuki-Onna (Snow Woman). This piano duet developed out of a cross-cultural project initiated at Morley College, London, in early 2019, aiming to create a melodrama for piano solo and spoken voice to be performed in northern Japan later in the year by young students of the piano. It is based on the ghost-story above, which is widely known in Japan. The tale was transcribed and published by Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo) in 1904 as part of his book “Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Thingsâ€, a collection that has been highly influential in expressing popular Japanese culture over the past century. Synopsis of the tale of Yuki-Onna: Two wood-cutters, Mosaku and his apprentice Minokichi, encounter a terrible snow-storm and take shelter in an empty hut by a river. The storm gets worse and worse, but they both finally fall asleep. When Minokichi wakes, he sees a woman all in white bending over Mosaku breathing bright white smoke onto his face. She then approaches Minokichi. She is very beautiful, but her eyes make him afraid. After a while she says, “I intended to do the same to you as I did to the old man, but I feel pity for you because you are a pretty young man. If you ever tell anybody what you have seen, however, I will kill you too.†And she vanishes into the snow storm. It is then that Minokichi discovers Mosaku dead on the floor of the hut. Years later Minokichi meets a beautiful girl, who calls herself O-Yuki. He falls in love with her and they live together in his house, along with his mother, who fortunately takes a liking to her new “honourable daughter-in-law.†Over the years O-Yuki gives birth to ten children and the villagers all agree that she is a wonderful person. But she is somehow different from them, as she continues to look young and fresh, despite the passing years. Minokichi often thinks of telling O-Yuki about the events of years ago, and eventually, as he is gazing at her beauty one night, he can resist it no more. He begins to tell her about the snow storm and the terrifying snow-woman. To his horror O-Yuki becomes more and more angry, and she finally says: “It was me, it was me,… and I said I would kill you if you ever told anyone! But for these children asleep here, I would do so this very moment! You had better take very good care of them; for if ever they have reason to complain of you, I will treat you as you deserve!†As she screams at him her voice becomes thin, like the crying of the wind, and she melts into a bright white mist spiraling into the roof-beams. At that moment it starts to snow, but O-Yuki is never seen again.

Extinction Events by John Gibson Written for the woodwind choir of a concert band, it is a three movement work lasting about 8 minutes and is for advanced players. The movements are: Buzzy Delights (Honey Bees), It Isn't Easy Being a Cuckoo, and Jaguar Surprise. Each movement imagines a different animal or insect living in its habitat as it gradually deteriorates. One might think this would be sad, violent music, but each earthly creature is shown in its musical habitat where it happily does what it does best....bees buzzing around flowers, cuckoos gently calling in the forest, Jaguars quietly stalking their prey. The parts included are: Flute 1-2, Oboe 1-2, Bb Clarinet 1-3, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon 1-2, Alto Sax 1-2, Tenor Sax, and Baritone Sax.
