If you can, I recommend keeping it in the octave that I wrote it in. However, I likely won't be there to hear it if you decide to take it down the octave, so be my guest if that is your preference :)In the second, happier-sounding section, I gave everyone a snippet of the melody. This arrangement is of the Main theme of the beloved cult cartoon classic that comes out every Fall.SCORE AND PARTS ARE INCLUDED!

Brass Quintet Baritone Horn TC,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1273084 By Keith Terrett. By Duke Ellington/Barney Bigard. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Jazz,Standards. 11 pages. Keith Terrett #865274. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1273084). An arrangement of C Jam Blues for Brass Quintet. The extra parts are not necessary, but are provided if you have extra players such as a Bb Piccolo Trumpet & Bb Trombone/Euphonium in TC.New Orleans-born clarinetist Barney Bigard is likely the originator of this tune, a simple blues riff in the key of C. Since Bigard was a veteran member of Duke Ellington’s Orchestra in 1941, Duke had a slice of the pie, too, and undoubtedly arranged the piece for the orchestra. Yet Duke referred to the number somewhat disparagingly as “one of our more or less trite things.â€The number was introduced in a Soundie short film. These three-minute features, produced to be shown on a jukebox-type player, illustrated the band miming to a pre-recorded performance. Entitled “Jam Session†the Soundie was filmed late in 1941 along with four other Ellington numbers. Duke introduces various band members, who then solo: Ray Nance (violin), Ben Webster (tenor sax), Rex Stewart (cornet), Joe “Tricky Sam†Nanton (trombone), and Sonny Greer (drums). The complete ensemble carries the tune to its finish with composer Bigard (clarinet) providing some improvised upper register piping.“C Jam Blues†was formally recorded under that title in January, 1942, for RCA Victor Records. It continued be a staple of the Ellington repertoire, generally featuring a handful of the soloists in the band.Co-composer Barney Bigard left Duke’s band in June 1942, and after a period of freelancing joined Louis Armstrong’s All-Stars in August, 1947. “C Jam Blues†was one of his nightly features with Satch’s ensemble along with “Tea for Two.†Despite playing the tune hundreds, or perhaps even thousands of times during his tenure with Ellington and Armstrong, he continued to perform it during his freelance years in the 1950s until shortly before his death in 1980.In the late-1950s very simple words were added (“Baby, let’s go down to ‘Duke’s Place’,†etc.) which strangely took a three-member team of writers to assemble: songwriters William Katz and Ruth Roberts and record producer Bob Thiele. Clarinetist Barney Bigard was not included in the composer credits of the song version, although he was a member of Louis Armstrong’s All-Stars when they recorded “Duke’s Place,†featuring Louis on the vocal, with Ellington in 1961.The piece typically features several improvised solos. The final solo continues in the upper register as the entire ensemble comes in and the music grows to a climax. The melody likely originated from the clarinetist Barney Bigard in 1941, but its origin is not perfectly clear. It was also known as Duke’s Place, with lyrics added by Bill Katts, Bob Thiele and Ruth Roberts Western Swing band leader Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys recorded the song sometime between mid-1945 through 1947 as part of the Tiffany Transcriptions. The 10-note occasional riff formed the basis of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band’s novelty song Intro Outro.Need an anthem fast? Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1261392 By Eric O'Reilly. By Eric O'Reilly. 21st Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Multicultural,New Age,World. Score and Parts. 97 pages. Eric O'Reilly #854458. Published by Eric O'Reilly (A0.1261392). Hectic, composed and performed by Eric O'Reilly, is an exciting and difficult song for concert bands. It is written for a full concert band with several percussionists available but includes cue notes in other parts to allow for playing with a smaller band. It is written as a keyless piece as it uses primarily the C double harmonic scale (1, b2, 3, 4, 5, b6, 7, 1) as it's key centre. This is also sometimes known as the egyptian scale, giving the song a dark and intense eqyptian feel. Best for an experienced high school concert band playing advanced songs or harder. Choral Choir (5-Part) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1217539 Composed by F. Key/J. Smith. Arranged by Bill ORANGE Lyons. A Cappella,Jazz,Patriotic,Traditional. Octavo. 8 pages. Bill ORANGE Lyons #813988. Published by Bill ORANGE Lyons (A0.1217539). This chart was arragned for the Sounds of Honda which was a community choir made of employees from the Honda HQ in Torrance, CA. Since written for a community choir it is an easier version than S-SB (III) and is more on par with S-SB (I). Having said that, you will still find some interesting chordal voicings that will eventually please. The larger the choir, the better this arrangement sounds. But even if done by a small chorus, you will be pleased. Once again it goes outside of the 'traditional' melodic and harmonic ideas but not by much. It's enough so you notice the differences but pleasing enough that you won't mind them. If at this point you are torn and can't quite decide if this is the National Anthem for you, then go to my website http://BillORANGELyonsMusic.com and listen to the track and after hearing it the only question might become do I buy The Star-Spangled Banner (I) (available only on UNCJazzPress.com), The Star-Spangled (III) or The Star-Spangled Banner (V).Enjoy the music. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.921644 Composed by Tom Dwight. A Cappella,Christian,Sacred. Octavo. 2 pages. Tom Dwight #3024455. Published by Tom Dwight (A0.921644). We Should Glory is a simple, beautiful Sacred Choral antiphon that is perfect for use as an entrance hymn for Holy Thursday (Maundy Thursday). It is also appropriate as a meditation hymn or for any liturgical celebration that glorifies the Cross of Christ. While it is written to be sung a capella, chords are included so that a simple piano, organ and/or guitar may accompany the singers.I am in the process of building my website. In the meantime, if you wish to contact me with any questions, please email me at tommy1take@gmail.com or by phone at 984.212.7890.If you have access to equipment and wish to provide a good quality recording of this or any of my other titles, I will be happy to compensate you or your organization in some equitable way. Please let me know if you're interested!A NOTE ABOUT THE RECORDING:While you are welcome to purchase the recording, it is merely meant to be a representation of the piece (without the harmonies, of course! Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.809117 Composed by Tony Benade. Arranged by Tony Benade. Jazz,Standards. Score and parts. 121 pages. Tony Benade #4268467. Published by Tony Benade (A0.809117). Odyssey in Space is a jazz ensemble that compares to the Buddy Rich type of arrangements played by his band in the 1960's. Very brite tempo, many featured solos by the horn section and of course, a large portion devoted to the drummer. If used in a jazz concert, it is advisable to use this piece as the closer. There are not too many pieces that will follow it if played as written. It is musically very flashy, extremely challenging to perform and totally entertaining if executed as intended. It does require better than average players to pull this off.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1317749 By Keith Terrett. By KÄrlis Baumanis. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Patriotic,Praise & Worship,Traditional. 26 pages. Keith Terrett #906430. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1317749). He national anthem of Latvia arranged for SymphonyOrchestra. The music and lyrics were written in 1873 by KÄrlis Baumanis, a teacher, who was part of the Young Latvian nationalist movement. It has been speculated that Baumanis may have borrowed part of the lyrics from a popular song which was sung to tune of God Save the Queen, modified them and set them to music of his own. Baumanis's lyrics were different from the modern ones: he used the term Baltics synonymously and interchangeably with Latvia and Latvians, so Latvia was actually mentioned only at the beginning of the first verse. Later the term Latvia was removed and replaced with Baltics to avoid a ban on the song. This has led to the misapprehension that the term Latvia was not part of the song until 1920, when it was chosen as national anthem and the word Baltics was replaced with Latvia.During the annexation of Latvia by the Soviet Union, the singing of Dievs, svÄ“tÄ« Latviju! was banned. The Soviet republic of Latvia had its own anthem. Dievs, svÄ“tÄ« Latviju! was restored as the state anthem of Latvia on 15 February 1990, a very short period before Latvian independence was restored. The anthem's tune was modernized with a new F major version that is used since 2014, formerly a G major version was used on LTV's sign-on and sign-offs daily from 2011 up to 2013.For more of my original music, great arrangements and all the national anthems of the world, check out my on-line stores:http://www.scoreexchange.com/profiles/keith_terrethttp://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=keith+terrettNeed an anthem fast? Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.970736 Composed by Mike Strand. Graduation,Jazz,Wedding. Score and parts. 22 pages. Michael M. Strand #4890111. Published by Michael M. Strand (A0.970736). By Mike Strand, ASCAPThis is the full score, plus scores for three groups of parts, for a full arrangement of a swing tune for piano, bass, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and two singers. After the cover, there are 21 pages of music: Ten pages for the full score; four pages for the group of blowing instruments (alto saxophone, B flat trumpet, and trombone); four pages for the piano and bass; and three pages for the two singers.   Grouping the parts in this manner is natural and advantageous for this particular swing composition. These part groupings will help players in a group coordinate with each other from their group score. This is an excellent compromise between everyone working from the full score, and each player having a score with just the player’s individual part. The audio sample plays the full score. This product solves a problem that any composer of new jazz music faces: Unlike the popular standards, there aren’t any well-known and often-heard arrangements for a band to emulate. As the composer with only a lead sheet, I would have to convince your band to develop an arrangement from scratch, starting from nothing but the lead sheet!  With so many attractive standard swing tunes to perform, a busy band may hesitate to put extra effort into an unknown tune. Problem solved! With this full arrangement of They Came Here to Dance, a band can better see and hear the tune’s full potential. It will be easier for a band to make any modifications to suit its particular mix of musicians and to better fit its style. With this arrangement, with written score, part group scores and audio sample, it will be as easy as working from the recording and score of a popular standard. All that’s missing from this arrangement is the percussion, because of the individuality of drummers. The band only needs a skilled jazz drummer to join in easily with this arrangement.  Here are the lyrics to They Came Here to Dance: 1.You may come here to eat and to drink.Lots of chins wag, and wine glasses clink. Well, that’s all good, but here’s what I think: They came here to dance! 2. We cats up front have to check our sound mix. Then they walk in, togged to the bricks. They have the moves to show off our licks. They came here to dance! Bridge – Instrumental section, followed by: Our band’s in the groove – here’s one reason why: The doghouse amps are turned up high. They get in there, and tear up the floor! And they don’t care if their feet get sore. 3. Bustin’ our conks, we cats are hot, She is a wren who rocks him a lot! And they don’t care if we light up or not. They came here to dance!4. Bridge again, then:Bustin’ our conks, we cats are hot, She is a wren who rocks him a lot! And they don’t care if we light up or not. They have the learning to, they have a yearning to,They came here to dance! Note Some words in these lyrics are taken from Cab Calloway Slang: Light up – smoke a stick (marijuana cigarette) Doghouse - bass Get in there - go to work, get busy, make it hot, give it all you got Bustin’ our conks – breaking our necks (applying ourselves diligently) Wren – a chick, a queen (beautiful girl) Cat – musician in swing band Togged to the bricks – dressed to kill, from head to toe Licks – hot musical phrases In the groove – perfect, down the alley  .

Small Ensemble Cello,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.749209 Composed by Traditional Carol. Arranged by HELEN MARPLE-HORVAT. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 15 pages. Helen Marple-Horvat #3557715. Published by Helen Marple-Horvat (A0.749209). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCM1oh2jWA0 I have always loved the gorgeous false relations in the harmony of this carol and enjoyed singing it in choirs down the years, as well as organising choral groups to sing it. I have included various harmonisations of the wonderful tune and a short contrapuntal development section in the middle to add some interest. The clip is from the development section. If you would like to watch a video of a professional quartet playing my arrangement on Youtube, look up my channel by typing Skinny Black Dogs, Capriccio Quartet, The Angel Gabriel. In this version there is a viola playing theViolin 3 part but the differences are very small. Mostly I had to put the Violin part up an octave when it went below the lowest string but otherwise the harmony is much the same. The quartet play with few open strings, lots of vibrato and slurred bows. That would be fine for Grade 5 players and above. However, open strings and one note per bow could still sound good, and the violin in the high positions could easily be played down an octave. All the double stopping includes an open string but could be divided between parts in a string orchestra. If teachers want to buy this for a young string orchestra or quartet, drop me a line on Facebook and I will upload an easier version to the site for you, with some small changes. The key is easy for strings and with a bit of rehearsal, the counting can be mastered. Have fun, and let me know if you have performed it!

Once in motion, the seeds travel with the wind until they come to a final resting place on the ground below. This piece flows along in that vein of a seedling's windblown journey.Dandelion Wind has a slight Celtic feel to it, and it comes in at just over 1:30 if played at the suggested tempo.  It's written as a flute duet with no piano accompaniment. If you would like to know more about me and what I do, you may locate me on LinkedIn at Frank Pugh Independent Composer / Arranger . String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1431642 By Keith Terrett. By Antonin Dvorak. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Classical,Contest,Festival,Historic,Instructional,Romantic Period. 9 pages. Keith Terrett #1012118. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1431642). Transcribed for String Orchestra the second movement of the New World Symphony is introduced by a harmonic progression of chords in the wind instruments. Beckerman interprets these chords as a musical rendition of the narrative formula Once upon a time. Then a solo cor anglais (English horn) plays the famous main theme in D-flat major accompanied by muted strings. Dvo?ák was said to have changed the theme from clarinet to cor anglais as it reminded him of the voice of Harry Burleigh. The movement's middle section contains a passage in C? minor evoking a nostalgic and desolate mood which eventually leads into a funeral march above pizzicato steps in the basses. It is followed by a quasi-scherzo that incorporates this movement's theme as well as the first movement's main and closing themes. The Largo is concluded with the soft return of the main theme and introductory chords. For more of my original music, great arrangements and all the national anthems of the world, check out my on-line stores: https://www.scoreexchange.com/profiles/keithterrett1 http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=keith+terrett Need an anthem fast? Good for Missionary or Youth Musical Numbers - Soprano/Tenor or Men/Women Choirs This medley was written upon request for a missionary's send-off! It's great for: - Church Services - Missionary Farewells and Homecomings - Firesides - Youth Choirs - Adult Choirs - Soprano and Tenor Duet Purpose/Message: The medley's purpose is to invigorate us and to encourage us to be brave in sharing truth. It emphasizes the concepts of pressing on, having courage, and not fearing. Difficulty: Medium (There are some independent singing sections, some notes at the top of the soprano and tenor range, and a couple spots with less typical harmonies. It is, however, not a difficult piece overall. Those who are accustomed to singing in choirs will have no trouble but will be challenged enough to enjoy the piece.) Range: The notes are within range for a somewhat experienced or serious singer. If using in a choir, you can have the higher notes sung one octave lower by those out of range, or add a harmonic note as needed. There are only a couple of instances where this might be needed. Solutions to Problems: If you have youth afraid to go on missions, this song will help them take courage and be brave. If you have adults who are faltering from fear (as all do on occasion), it is hoped this song will bolster their courage and resolve.   Duration of Work: This medley is approximately 4:12 minutes long. Electric Violin,Instrumental Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845965 By Bud Powell. By Vernon Duke. Arranged by Kyle Pudenz. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,Standards. Individual part. 6 pages. ViolinVagabond Music #4967185. Published by ViolinVagabond Music (A0.845965). An advanced-level jazz arrangement of Autumn in New York for unaccompanied 7-String Electric Violin. Although this was written on a 7-string, it also translates very well on a 6-string; there are only 2 passages that require the low Bb string, and these will sound fine taken up an octave. If you want to try this on a standard violin, well... good luck with the 5-note chords!I realize we extended-range violinists are few & far between, but if you (like me) appreciate the unique ability of this instrument to cover bass substitutions, chord melodies, and other roles that were previously thought exclusive to fretted/keyed instruments, this arrangement is an excellent demonstration of some of the really cool ways that you can bring a melody to life without the need for any effects or accompaniment. It is not for the faint of heart, and will definitely take some practicing, but if you can tackle the harmony this is a chart that is guaranteed to impress any jazz-nerd in the room... or your money back!*A challenging, yet elegant take on one of my favorite jazz ballads, this arrangement is great for showing off your jazz chops as a soloist, but can also work great as background music at one of those weddings or cocktail parties where someone decided it would be a hip idea to have an electric violinist... by themself...without any suggestions on repertoire (don't lie, we've all done at least one of these). Frets are optional, but not necessary ;-) I've been playing this for 6 years without... Performance time: 5 minutes, 30 secondsAlternatively you can skip one of the choruses to get it under 4 minutesQuestions? Suggestions? Requests?
