This tune has such a romantic feel that it naturally lends itself very well to strings. This solo violin rendition provides ample opportunity for rubato (if you are so inclined), with luscious fills between musical phrases. This is just one of my many special arrangements. One thing that sets my arrangements apart from others is that I fit all of my parts on 2 sheets of music. This makes it so the songs can fit into a binder, without the need for flipping pages! Another great thing (for multi-instrumental arrangements) is that I include cue lines on each part, so that every player in the ensemble can see one other person’s music at the same time. This is so amazingly useful and has saved countless performances in the past. If someone skips a beat or misses a measure, you can now see where they are and reconnect! This also helps with sight-reading and keeping the group together in general.

Published by Martin Woodward (A0.887250). Leap Frog This is called Leap Frog because it leaps around a fair bit and should be played in a sort of ‘leapy froggy’ sort of way. Although in mainly 3/4 timing, this is far from a waltz as it’s fairly upbeat and there are many accents across the beats which are marked throughout. And there’s also a couple of 4/4 bars, so watch for them. This composition is a good example of the use of ‘diatonic chords’ (all the chords found naturally within the scale of C major). And also a great finger exercise although perhaps a little tricky especially towards the end where the theme is played in thirds. This is probably the most difficult piece in the collection. Although I’ve included the chord symbols, you will not find a suitable auto accompaniment due to the 4/4 bars and the accents. But these four bars could easily be omitted if you want to. Eventually (as I get time), I will be adding suitable mp3 accompaniment files to my website for this and some of the other tunes, so watch out for these if you are interested. This piece can be played on a 49 note C - C (4 octaves) keyboard. I would rate this as MODERATELY DIFFICULT.

Dangerous Waters The Great Adventurer has travelled for many years. He has fought in great battles and discovered beautiful treasures. It is for the immense joy he quests. The adventures continue to become more challenging, yet the Great Adventurer always succeeds.  II. The Tormented Heart Contrary to his fun from quests, the Adventurer now has a family back home, and he worries what would happen to them if he didn't return. His constant absence caused by his desire for adventure is straining the relationship with his family. He loves them but is always away from them. All the while, death looms above and threatens to end the adventures.  III.The Madman The stress and torment of his quests are finally getting to the Adventurer. His emotions are becoming out of control and his mind, irrational. The Adventurer realizes he must return to his family to save his sanity, if not his life. He sets out on one final quest to return home. The trials more mounting than ever before. The once, Great Adventurer is going insane. Until, finally, he crests the hill, and reunites with his family.
