Three of these seven short pieces are worthy to open any brass quintet concert or recital.  Two fanfares are too short for a concert feature but work extremely well in a ceremony or celebratory setting.  The last two short pieces aptly serve contrasting special purposes, as explained below.“Fort Pierre Fanfare” is about 40 seconds in duration, and was composed to open the feature concert at the South Dakota Bandmasters Association convention in 2022.  Offutt Brass, from the US Air Force Heartland of America Band, was invited to perform that concert.  Before the final piece of the concert, when gifts were exchanged between the sponsor and performers, beautiful presentation copies of the sheet music were presented to the sponsor.  In performance, staging directions on the music can be extremely effective or cringy, depending on how they are conveyed.  If there is any inkling that there may be a cringe factor, ignore them, and play the fanfare already on stage.“Enduring Freedom Fanfare” is nearly a minute of music.  It was composed as a gift for the outgoing Commander of the US Air Force Heritage of America Band, Major Rafael Toro-Quiñones.  His leadership was strong and inspiring, and he held a place of high esteem among many of the fine military musicians that he led.  The Change of Command ceremony was toward the end of the Covid-19 shut-downs, so the work was not performed at the ceremony.  Chief Remley, from the command’s satellite location in Nebraska, hand-delivered some finely printed presentation copies to Major Toro-Quiñones.“Noble Eagle Fanfare” is slightly over a minute in length, and, like “Enduring Freedom Fanfare,” was composed as a gift for another outgoing Commander of the US Air Force Heritage of America Band, Captain David Neil Regner.“Pilgrims’ Fanfare” was composed on what many Americans acknowledge as “Pioneer Day,” 24 July 2023.  Not only honoring the thousands of pioneers that settled the western United States, but also the pilgrims that voyaged across the ocean to settle in the new continent.  It is about 15 seconds in duration and is effective for any occasion in need of a magnificent fanfare.“Flightline Fanfare,” as its title implies, was composed for the ribbon cutting ceremony of the dedication of the newly renovated flightline at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska.  Unfortunately, the ceremony itself was altered last-minute, and the 15-second fanfare was not used.  However, like “Pilgrims’ Fanfare,” it is very handy for any event demanding a splash of pomp.“American Interlude” is a soft 75-second underscore for an MC’s moving speech or dedication.  It was originally composed as a smooth segue between two moving patriotic pieces of different keys in a concert setting, but can be used in any similar appropriate situation.“Troop 184” is dedicated to my childhood BSA Scoutmaster, Gerry Nielson, who molded me in significant ways into the man I am decades later.  It is functional music, akin to a fight song, and can be easily marched to.  Words may be crafted as a customized hiking ditty, or it can be featured before or after ceremonies as prelude or processional music.  The duration can also be customized, as there is a written optional repeat, lengthening the tune from 45 seconds to a minute and a half.

The traditional notation for this piece is at the extreme of its ability to notate piano music - and it fails miserably! It is playable only by the gifted few who have the tenacity to race through reading this incredibly fast 6 flat Eb minor notation. with its additional double flats and accidentals, some of which must be played on white keys. Surely the piece must be some kind of joke - Chopin's way of thumbing his nose at those bold enough to try to play it. It surely is NOT the great music that Chopin usually crafted.The joke is that it is not really difficult to play. It is just incredibly difficult to READ! The music can be played, although without its breakneck speed, by students at the intermediate level if reading from a key map. This piece is an extreme example of how much easier playing from key maps can be.This piece is notated on a vertically oriented tablature called a key map. Key maps are intended to SHOW you (visually) which keys to play by matching (mapping) the locations of the keys on the keyboard. >>> The group of 12 keys from Middle C up to B form what we call the green Octave Group. (There are 7 of these identical groups on the piano distinguished by their colors and locations.)The key map staff is based on an Octave Group of the keyboard. For each key map octave group, the 5 vertical lines of the staff stand for the 5 matching black KEYS. >>> Staff lines ARE SPACED to match the horizontal spacing of the black keys on the keyboard The notes for black keys are placed ON these staff lines. The notes for the white keys are placed BETWEEN the lines. >>> The notes of a key map move to the left and right to indicate change in PITCH and down the page to indicate the passing of TIME (rhythm). The vertical length of each note is proportional to the time (in beats) that the sound requires.

I have arranged it for lever harp. l I have added all fingering and dynamics. The difficulty is around grade 2 to 4 level. It needs a lever change while playing and the lever needs to be changed back quickly. It also shows some sliding, so 1-1 fingering. But fingering is always optional so if you or your teacher don't like it, change it.  The key is G-major so you need to have an F sharp lever, and a C sharp lever for the lever change. You can use it for piano as well.(with different fingering).

Yes, I had the Bee Gees on LP when I was a kid.…and ABBA…but I left them out of this piece.Obviously, this is meant to be fun. In fact, the references to “I Will Survive� are in the slower pavane section, not the disco.The piece is basic A-B-A form (Disco-Pavane-Disco) with a fadeout ending…because in all my research I don’t remember finding a single disco piece that didn’t have a fadeout ending. It’ funky 2 beat and make you want to clap your hands on 2 & 4. Fun to play, younger players can do it and learn. It usually works to have the horn players that are not playing in the first part of the chat clap their hands over their head on 2 and 4. This will get the people into it. This is a simple funky 2 beat and should be kept that way. Piano has dissonant afterbeats--should be soft.If you want a Maynard or Buddy chart, look elsewhere. This series of charts uses nothing more complicated than eighth notes, are not frantic or screamers, extreme ranges and are hemi-demi-semi-quaver free. They depend on intonation and the players being not intimidated by what he is asked to play. There is no contest to see how high you can go before you need oxygen , how many notes you can play in 9 seconds or before your bell overheats , or how long it takes the audience to cover their earsRelaxed and confident players always play more in tune. Good harmonies, lines and realistic rhythm patterns will produce a good result that will swing and be enjoyed by player and listener alike.

(Sorry, sheetmusicplus don't have font for this) On the blank keys, you can write down the finger numbers.  This is good for the students learning songs at different positions.  Like G position, F position, etc. The paper key might have a slightly difference on the key size. It is because different manufacture have their own  different key sized width. This paper keys should fit most keyboards or piano. This paper keyboard can help piano beginners start lessons and helps make practice easier. However, it is NOT RECOMMENDED for long term use.  How to Print This pdf is designed for two sided (duplex) printers.  Both sides on the same paper supposed to be in up side down format. Make sure you enable the two sided print function. You should be able to have a paper scale for three octaves on both sides. If you used duplex printing and your printer didn’t line up the scales, please use hand feed. Because every printers have different settings. You just need to try it in a different ways a couple times. Materials: I used the card stock from Sam’s club. It is 110lb greeting card paper. It is the cheapest one on the market. It cost $7.98 for 275 sheets. All of the papers are laminated.

It reached number one in both British and USA charts, and the top ten in many countries across the world.I really loved arranging this for string quartet and hope that it will give you pleasure to play. I have placed this piece within the Advanced category. In rehearsal with Capriccio Quartet and we tried it various tempi between70 and 84 bpm. Provided the energy is present in the playing it sounds just as good at a slower speed!Younger players could also tackle this song, which is in an easy key for strings. Although some of the rhythmic patterns appear difficult on the page, the key is to listen to the song and to do them by ear. There is not a lot of syncopation, and the on-beat semi quavers sound wonderful on strings. If they are played vigorously, with all the staccato  and accents in the score, you can get away with a much slower speed altogether. As usual, the bowing is just a guide and the double stopping always includes an open string. On the rare occasion that the double stopping includes two notes without the open string, choose one of them that is not doubled in one of the other parts.Where there is a dynamic ‘p’ it is important to observe it. There are some very dissonant harmonies in this piece. Playing them loudly will sound a bit odd, but I tried leaving them out and the result was a drop in tension. I wrote this piece as I was trying to figure out all the harmonics on the violin on a hot day in June 1999. The first section represents all the cars that I heard in the morning rush hour on their way to work on that hot summer day driving up route 1, route 1A, and route 95. Section A represents all those people busy at work in the morning trying to turn the world upside down. First the melody is right side up, then it is upside down. They're in air conditioned buildings of course! Then the opening section gets played once again, this time representing everyone going out in the hot weather for lunch and to do a few errands as fast as possible. Next comes section B. If one wants to leave out the bottom harmonic at the beginning of the measures 1, 2, & 3, in lines 1, 3 and 4, that makes it a little easier, but it is nice when both notes can be played. This section is work after lunch. It is supposed to go a little slower, for everyone is getting bogged down with to many assignments and they're starting to get exhausted. Then comes the opening section one last time. This time it is rush hour on the way home, and all the errands that must be done, like taking kids to soccer practice, ballet , tap dancing and violin lessons(or whatever) and trying to fix dinner or grab a pizza somewhere in there. Just before getting to the end of the section this time at the sign jump to the coda, and here it can slow down just a little for this is one collapsing at the end of the day when everything is over.
