While there are some complex rhythms and silences to count through, the notation itself is relatively simple -- intended to reflect the sparse, lonely/hopeful nature of the original song, which was played on a solo pennywhistle.It is written in the key of G Major (one sharp), which means it can be played on Harpsicle models that are not fully levered (e.g. Sharpsicles, as well as Fullsicles), and there are no lever changes or accidentals. If the harmonics are omitted, and the dotted rhythms counted carefully, this piece could be accessible to a late-beginner, at least from a technique standpoint. When I wrote this piece - I actually decided to base it off a piece that I learnt when I doing piano exams when I was a lot younger. I used the structure of the piece to inspire my writing, copying things like the phrase lengths and the general style and feel of the piece. I find that’s a really good way to go about writing a piece when I’m not feeling too inspired. Taking a piece you enjoy listening to and copying some element that stands out to you like the structure, harmony, melody, rhythm, texture, tone colour, etc. I mean the options are endless.Once you have a part of the piece that you want to copy you can really go from there and just make the piece your own. As long as you don’t copy too many aspects of the piece then you will come up with something original because no one is you. I highly recommend trying this writing technique if you write music as it really helps you to just get started on your music.

It takes several elements from the orchestral piece and treats them as if they were part of a dream Constantin Cavafy might have had while writing his poem titled Ithaca. The work exists in four versions (original, 'A', 'B' & 'C'), all written for low pitched instruments. The duration is 3'50.

This piece uses the Hail Mary prayer in both Latin and English as lyrics. Unique and beautiful harmonic progressions are used to bring the words of this prayer to life. All breaths and dynamics/dynamic changes are evident and obvious which should make things easier for the choir. Although there is a tempo marking, much of the piece, especially the beginning, should be done freely and chant-like. This song is difficult in the fact that it contains a lot of dissonance between parts, but because of the voice part writing, it should be relatively easy for each part to find their note.
