Bach's second wife. It was originally thought to be composed by J. S. Bach, but is now known to have been composed by Christian Petzold. The melody is well know, having been used in many movies, theme parks, cartoons, etc.  This arrangement is for string trio, with the melody played by each of the three instruments at different times. The three movements of this composition are based on the Christmas carol tune Mueller, also known as Away in a Manger.  While each movement can be performed separately, my intention is that all the movements be played as a unit.  This composition was conceived with a 3-manual organ in  mind.  While the Prelude and Canon are relatively easy, the Fugue is more challenging, as it requires numerous changes of stop combinations via preset pistons.  I have provided a full-length recording to aid the prospective buyer in the decision-making process.  This piece is one among several arrangements in my Christmas Carol Series, which includes a number of settings for piano.  I encourage you to search the Sheet Music Plus or the Sheet Music Direct website for still other hymn arrangements of mine, some for organ and some for piano.
