Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1293329 Composed by Dorothy Heyward, Du Bose Heyward, George Gershwin, and Ira Gershwin. Arranged by Christopher J. Malin. 20th Century,Blues,Jazz,Standards. Individual part. 1 pages. Christopher J. Malin #883900. Published by Christopher J. Malin (A0.1293329). Solo jazz guitar chord/melody arrangement with tablature. Seldom heard standard in this style. Beautiful, instantly recognizable melody. One of Gershwin's finer songs. This arrangement is different than the 500+ out there. I did it in the upper regitster (soprano) of the guitar. Works well if you play through the changes in lower voicings to establish your rhythm, then play my arrangement. It will raise a few eyebrows and put smiles on the faces of your listeners. I do this with a number of my arrangements. It will also help to have accurate intonation on your instrument. This piece makes you stand out as a solo jazz guitarist of all idioms. Sounds great on acoustic and electric guitars.

Published by Alex Rodrigues (A0.1494265). The Last Rose of Summer is a work deeply rooted in Irish culture, originally penned as a poem by the renowned poet and composer Thomas Moore in 1805. Moore, regarded as Ireland’s national poet, was inspired by an 'Old Blush' rose while staying at Jenkinstown Castle in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The poem was published as part of his Irish Melodies collection between 1807 and 1834 and later set to music by fellow Irishman John Stevenson. The song gained widespread popularity and was incorporated into the opera Martha by the German composer Friedrich von Flotow, which premiered in 1847 in Vienna. This sheet music has been adapted for solo instrument, preserving the original melody by Moore and Stevenson in its essence. The simplicity of the arrangement allows the musician to highlight the purity of the melody, making it easier to perform while maintaining the piece's emotional character.
