Aicuma tiene 3 movimientos de los cuales: El primero es una marinera norteña, aunque la estructura de la misma no sea como la danza originalmente, sino que se utiliza recursos de cambios de compás, así como una sección de solo trompeta. El segundo movimiento está construido en dos partes que, aunque melódicamente son casi iguales en su totalidad, la rearmonización en la segunda parte hace que no parezca ser la misma línea; este segundo movimiento está basado en los sonidos de los cuernos (trompetas andinas a veces les llaman) cuando en sus ceremonias llaman al toro. Por último el tercer movimiento está realizado en tres partes, donde la primera y la tercera están muy relacionadas por su material rítmico, melódico y armónico; en cambio, la segunda parte es la más festiva porque está basada en el ritmo del huayno...
