The Romance Op.5 is pure Tchaikovsky at his most Romantic - Lyrical, Passionate & very Dramatic! It is a beautiful work and lends itself very successfully to Flute, Viola and Piano as the interaction of the instruments really heightens the emotions.

This arrangement of the classic carol 'I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day' (WALTHAM) is a great addition to a holiday themed school program, church service, and Christmas contests and recitals. As with any song, the lyrics are very important, even when performed instrumentally as in this case. The emotions of the poem are imitated in the music. This is an amazing arrangement of Monti's Csardas (or Czardas, depending on your spelling preference). It is a virtuoso showpiece that can be performed by either 2 violas, 2 cellos, or 1 viola and 1 cello.   This is not your typical solo with lame accompaniment; the two parts are completely equal in importance. The melody bounces back and forth between the two instruments, and the second line is often as interesting as the melody. This is a huge crowd-pleaser!

Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809-1847) composed 12 string symphonies when he was between 12 and 14 years old. Among them, No.8 is one of the most popular symphony, which was arranged for full orchestra by himself. Movement II, Adagio, is very special. It is played by only four instruments, three violas and bass. Very beautiful and attractive piece.
