Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.911345 By Keith Terrett. By Various. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Jazz,Spiritual,Traditional. 43 pages. Keith Terrett #517391. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.911345). Four Early Jazz Classics from the USA for Brass Quintet includes: 1)Little Brown Jug:It was originally a drinking song. It remained well known as a folk song into the early 20th century. Like many songs which make reference to alcohol, it enjoyed new popularity during the Prohibition era. In 1939, bandleader Glenn Miller recorded and broadcast his swing instrumental arrangement of the tune with great success, and the number became one of the best known orchestrations of the American Big Band era. 2)Frankie & Johnny:Frankie and Johnny (sometimes spelled Frankie and Johnnie; also known as Frankie and Albert or just Frankie) is a traditional American popular song. It tells the story of a woman, Frankie, who finds that her man Johnny was making love to another woman and shoots him dead. Frankie is then arrested; in some versions of the song she is also executed. 3)Tin Roof Blues:Tin Roof Blues is a jazz composition by the New Orleans Rhythm Kings first recorded in 1923. It was written by band members Paul Mares, Ben Pollack, Mel Stitzel, George Brunies and Leon Roppolo. The tune has become a jazz standard and is one of the most recorded and often played New Orleans jazz compositions. 4)Battle Hymn of the Republic:The Battle Hymn of the Republic, also known as Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory outside of the United States, is a song by American writer Julia Ward Howe using the music from the song John Brown’s Body. Howe’s more famous lyrics were written in November 1861, and first published in The Atlantic Monthly in February 1862. The song links the judgment of the wicked at the end of time (Old Testament, Isaiah 63; New Testament, Rev. 19) with the American Civil War. Since that time, it has become an extremely popular and well-known American patriotic song. Arranged here for Brass Quintet, this arrangement is available for most ensembles of your choice, e-mail for other arrangements. An excellent selection for your next concert!

Small Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.889444 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Luis Anjos Teixeira. Baroque,Concert,Standards. Score and parts. 12 pages. Luis Anjos Teixeira #5297057. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889444). I Had Much Grief, Cantata BWV 21. „Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis, BWV 21. „Sinfonia This work marks a transition between motet style on biblical and hymn text to operatic recitatives and arias on contemporary poetry.  Bach catalogued the work as „e per ogni tempo „and for all times, indicating that due to its general theme, the cantata is suited for any occasion. With its distinctive gesture of descent and the plaintive lines of the oboe and violin, the Sinfonia, held in dark minor, sets a tone of pain that is characteristic of the cantata. With its emotional depth and formal wealth, the cantata I had much grief is almost a solitaire in Bach's church music. Performed in Weimar in 1714 and later rearranged several times, it is also suitable as a compositional business card due to its high standards and its shape, which is representative of various types of sentences, and could therefore be related to Bach's application. Bach performed the cantata on 17 June 1714, as his fourth work in a series of monthly cantatas for the Weimar court which came with his promotion to concert master. The Work was transposed to D minor during the Köthen years, and used in November 1720 for a performance in Hamburg to apply for the position as organist at St. Jacobi. As Thomaskantor in Leipzig, Bach performed the cantata again on his third Sunday in office on 13 June 1723. For this performance, he also changed the instrumentation, adding „for example four trombones to double the voices in the fifth stanza of the hymn. This version was used in several revivals during Bach's lifetime and is mostly performed today.  From the plaintive sinfonia to the arias and duets touching in their pain and charm to the speaking rhythmic psalm and chorus choirs, a development arc spans that transforms suffering and grief into consolation and trust and culminates in an apotheosis reminiscent of Handel of the victorious lamb, Hardly ever has Bach put the process of a relentless self-questioning and spiritual healing as convincingly as here. This arrangement of the sinfonia is intended for modern instruments.  The original score was translated into modern music literature standards thus simplifying the approach and helping to understand the legacy of baroque music in our modern times. A few embellishments and interpretation symbols where added thus mostly shortening the length of some notes. Some „fortes and „pianos are also included.  The arrangement is absolutely faithful to Bach`s versions, not adding or omitting any notes from the original sources.  P.S.-  The score was written on Finale. The sound file was produced with samplers from Garritan,  merely as an audio support for the presentation of the score. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file. I hope you enjoy the music. Musically Yours, „e per ogni tempo „and for all times Luis Anjos Teixeira Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the all the Love and cover design. Special Thanks to Johann Sebastian Bach, Stray Dog Nina, Stray Queen Mimi, Carlinhos, Maria Pontinha, Maria Joaninha, Schwarzeneggerschen, Maria Koboldinha.  For all Living beings on Earth, for all our Ancestors,  Thank You for all of You  All The Love and Compassion. Baritone Horn TC,Bass Trombone,Cornet,Euphonium,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.752458 By Various. By Hildur Gudnadottir. Arranged by Rob Bushnell. Contemporary,Film/TV,Folk,Religious,Sacred. 17 pages. RBMusic #6506025. Published by RBMusic (A0.752458). In 1982, the Vladimir Ilyich Lenin Nuclear Power Plant started a series of tests to simulate an electrical power outage to help create procedures for maintaining the circulation of the reactor coolant for the 60-75 seconds needed until the back-up generators got to full power. This was key to ensure that the coolant pumps did not stop working; otherwise, it could lead to the core overheating or, worse, the core melting down. The first test was unsuccessful, and, after some modifications, the test was repeated in 1984 and 1985. On 25 April 1986, a fourth test was scheduled to take place at 1415hrs during a controlled power-down of one of the reactors. However, at 1400hrs, another regional power station went offline, causing the test to be delayed by 10-hours. With the well-prepared day and evening crews’ shifts over, the test was left to the unprepared night crew. Unbeknownst to them, safety systems and protocols had been disabled or ignored earlier in the day, power-output issues had left the reactor in an unstable condition and there were basic design flaws with the reactor when it was constructed. All of this led to an uncontrolled chain reaction and, at some point around 01:23:45 in the morning of 26 April 1986, explosions and a fire destroyed a reactor building of reactor number 4 at Chernobyl. Radioactive contamination was released into the surrounding areas, 100,000s of people were evacuated, a 30-kilometre exclusion zone was put in place and whilst, officially, only 31 people died from this disaster, it has been estimated that between 4,000 and 16,000 fatalities are related to the events of that day. The area is likely to be unsafe for the next 20,000 years. The soundtrack to the TV mini-series Chernobyl is by the Icelandic composer, Hildur Guðnadóttir. The music is made, almost entirely, from sounds that she recorded at a decommissioned Nuclear power plant in Lithuania, giving it a very raw quality. She says the show itself portrays the disaster with respect and realism, and I was adamant the score reflects this. I wanted to show the viewer how it would feel to be there, and to tell this story of fear, loss and, ultimately, human error. Vichnaya Pamyat translated to Memory Eternal in Ukrainian, but a better English equivalent would be Rest in Peace. It is a hymn used during Ukrainian Orthodox Christian church funerals and memorial services.  Guðnadóttir’s arrangement is heard at the end of the final episode of the series. This arrangement is not in the original key and has been transposed to make it easier to play. A version in the original key is available, item number H0.1099667-SC004126925. The arrangement also includes alternative parts for tenor horn, treble-clef trombone/euphonium and tuba. A recording of the music from the original soundtrack can be found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Poc3MF8GFk.

Voice, recorder and percussion - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q2433 Minor: Bordun. Composed by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman. Arranged by Arnold Walter and Doreen Hall. This edition: score for voice and/or instruments. Orff-Schulwerk. Downloadable, Vocal and performing score. Op. 4. Schott Music - Digital #Q2433. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q2433). English.Carl Orff devoted much of his life to the development of a philosophy of Music for Children, based on his belief that music is the natural outcome of speech, rhythm and movement. His ideas and pioneering work have had a major influence on music and dance education throughout the world and today that work continues under the guidance of leading teachers and educators in many countries. The five basic German volumes of Music for Children by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman were published between 1950 and 1954. Edition have since been published in Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Ghana, Great Britain (including a special Welsh edition), Greece, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latin-America, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the USA. In 1952 the first edition in translation appeared, an English language adaptation by Doreen Hall and Arnold Walter for their Canadian and American students. A few years later, Margaret Murray independently developed a version (1957-1966), essentially to fulfil the needs of United Kingdom teachers. Inevitably the considerable growth of Orff-Schulwerk in the United States led to the publication of the American Edition (1977) to satisfy the requirements of a different educational system and national heritage. Orff-Schulwerk: Music for Children has proved itself to be a stimulating source of material for music teaching. Carl Orff's fundamental educational ideas have revitalized music education in nursery schools, at all levels of primary and secondary education and in special music schools, based on the concepts that: - music, dance and language are inter-related and animated through rhythm. - when children discover, invent, improvise and compose, their experience of music is intensified. These creative activities are complementary to those of interpreting and listening to music. - all who take part are encouraged to contribute, not only vocally but also instrumentally. - the Orff approach to music education is many sided; it is concerned with practical music-making, it provides fundamental experiences and it lays the foundation for a comprehensive musical training. - movement games and activities for body awareness in space, time and flow, lead to movement improvisation and dance forms. - music and dance have been notated in many different ways in history. Various ways of writing down sounds and music, as well as playing from and interpreting different kinds of sources are being explored. Today, countless teachers and institutions are using these ideas. More and more teachers look for ways of invovling their students in active music making. In particular, they seek to challenge their pupils' creativity by the use of music, dance and speech - as media of human expression - as a foundation of all education. A prerequisite for work in Orff-Schulwerk is the artistic and pedagogical training of teachers. The Orff Institute was founded in 1961 as a Department of the 'Mozarteum', in Salzburg, Austria. Training offered includes a four-year diploma course, a two-year post-graduate course, and a one-year-course in English. At the opening of the Orff Institute in Salzburg in 1963, Carl Orff ended his speech with a quotation from Schiller: 'I have done my part, now do yours.' That challenge has been taken up by teachers worldwide. Hall/Walter Edition Based on Volumes 1, 2 and 4 of the original German Edition musik für Kinder, english adaption with additional material by Doreen Hall and Arnold Walter.
