Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.752408 By ABBA. By Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus, and Stig Anderson. Arranged by Rob Bushnell. Broadway,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Musical/Show,Pop. Score and parts. 2 pages. RBMusic #5795229. Published by RBMusic (A0.752408). On 6 April 1974, the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest took place in Brighton, UK. It should have been held in Luxembourg but, after having won in both 1972 and 1973, they declined to stage the contest in 1974 on the grounds of the expense to host it for a second consecutive year; the BBC agreed to stage it. Drawn 8th, the conductor for the Swedish, Sven-Olof Walldoff, comes on stage dressed as Napoleon. The music starts, and less than 3 minutes later, history was made. This was the year that ABBA won with Waterloo and the victory began their path to worldwide fame. Waterloo is the first single from ABBA's second album, Waterloo, and is the first to be credited to the group performing under the name ABBA. It became a No.1 hit in several countries, including the UK, and went on to sell nearly six million copies, making it one of the best-selling singles in history. At the 50th anniversary celebration of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005, it was chosen as the best song in the competition's history. It has been recorded in English, Swedish, French, German and Finnish – it was the first winning entry to Eurovision in a language other than that of their home country (with rules concerning language having been relaxed in 1973). Waterloo was released on 1 June 2018 as the second single from the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again soundtrack, performed by Hugh Skinner and Lily James. Arranged to mark the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, due to be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on 16 May 2020, but cancelled due to the 2019/2020 Coronavirus Pandemic. It is designed for two treble-clef instruments (part 1 in Bb and part 2 in Eb). This version is in C major (concert pitch) – part 1 has a written range from B3 to D5 and part 2 has a written range from C#4 to E5. (For other parts/versions, see my other Waterloo titles.) Cello - Digital Download SKU: A0.1103915 By Ölveti Mátyás and Mády-Szabó Eszter. By David Warin Solomons. Chamber,Contemporary. Full Performance. Duration 195. David Warin Solomons #707199. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1103915). Composed originally as a vocal duo as I walked one day from Denning Point in the East End of London to sing at a service at St Michael's Cornhill around 1986, this version can be played on various instruments but preferably duos of the same instrument or at least instruments of the same range. The words of the original vocal duo are: I heard a happy song on a lonely city street; but it was a song of the past. It was a song from the days when the street was a meadow path; it was a song when the flowers on the window boxes had grass for company. It was a song when the Cathedral could be seen above the rooftops. I heard a happy song on a lonely city street; but it was a song from the future: song from the days when the street will dance with children It was a song when the flowers in the window boxes will learn to sing. It was a song when the rooftops won't be seen above the clouds. I heard a happy song on a lonely city street; and it is a song of now But it is a song I will sing from the rooftops to entrance the clouds. Performed by Ölveti Mátyás and Mády-Szabó Eszter of Budapest Scoring Cellos.

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1414403 Composed by Leslie Bricusse and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Classical,Film/TV,Multicultural,World. 50 pages. John Ivor Holland #996173. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1414403). The Last Emperor is a 1987 epic biographical drama film about the life of Puyi, the final Emperor of China. It is directed by Bernardo Bertolucci and depicts Puyi's life from his ascent to the throne as a small boy to his imprisonment and political rehabilitation by the Chinese Communist Party. It premiered at the 1987 Tokyo International Film Festival, earning widespread positive reviews from critics and was also a commercial success. At the 60th Academy Awards, it won all nine Oscars it was nominated for, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. It also won several other accolades, including three BAFTA Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, nine David di Donatello Awards, and a Grammy Award for its musical score, which features nine pieces composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto, five by David Byrne, one from Cong Su, and a few incidental pieces of source music. 'Open The Door' occurs quite early in the film and can be considered to be one of the main themes, often performed instrumentally in concert by Ryuichi Sakamoto - as a song, with lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, it is not often heard, so this piece would work on many levels in a concert of film music.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1510819 Composed by James Pierpont. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. 19th Century,Chamber,Christmas,Historic,Traditional. 10 pages. Jmsgu3 #1086025. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1510819). Jingle Bells is a song with a rich and somewhat controversial history, making it an essential piece of American musical culture. Here are some key points about its significance: Origins and EvolutionInitial Composition: Written by James Lord Pierpont in 1857, the song was initially titled One Horse Open Sleigh. It was conceived as a lively tune celebrating sleigh rides, inspired by the famous sleigh races of the time, particularly in Medford, Massachusetts.Thanksgiving RootsInterestingly, Jingle Bells was initially intended as a Thanksgiving song and did not mention Christmas in its original lyrics. Its association with Christmas developed later when it was performed during holiday celebrations.Cultural ImpactGlobal Popularity: Over the years, Jingle Bells has become one of the most recognized and performed secular holiday songs worldwide. It is frequently sung during Christmas festivities and has been recorded by numerous artists, including Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and even The Beatles.First Song in Space: The song gained an unusual distinction as the first tune broadcast from space when astronauts played it on harmonica aboard Gemini 6 in December 1965, adding to its cultural lore.Controversial AspectsMinstrel Show Roots: The song's first public performance was at a minstrel show, which has led to discussions about its origins and the implications of its performance context. This aspect has sparked debate about whether the song should continue to be part of children's repertoires in schools today.Pierpont's Life: Pierpont himself had a complicated life; he was a widower who moved to Georgia after abandoning his children in Boston and later became involved with the Confederacy during the Civil War. His life experiences have colored interpretations of his work and its legacy.ConclusionDespite its controversial past, Jingle Bells remains a beloved holiday classic. Its catchy melody and festive spirit resonate with audiences worldwide, making it an enduring symbol of holiday cheer.

Mixed Percussion B-Flat Tuba,B-Flat trombone,Baritone Horn TC/Euphonium,Bass Trombone,E-Flat Cornet,E-Flat Tenor Horn,E-Flat Tuba TC,Flugelhorn,Percussion 1,Percussion 2,Tenor Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1122389 Composed by Jimmie Thomas. Arranged by David Holt. Christmas,Contemporary,Holiday,Pop,Rock. Brass Band. 51 pages. David Holt #723547. Published by David Holt (A0.1122389). The American pop and rock composer Leon Rene wrote “Rockin' Robin†under the pseudonym Jimmie Thomas. It was recorded by Bobby Day in 1958 and became his most popular song, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one in R&B sales. It was later recorded by Michael Jackson in 1972, and was the best-selling hit on his debut solo album “Got To Be Thereâ€. This arrangement is written for a soprano cornet soloist, and is a rousing crowd-pleaser, designed to get the audience clapping along. It was written for, and first performed by, Charlie Welch of Horbury Victoria Band. Whether it is a Christmas piece is up to the concert planner to decide - but it definitely works in a festive programme! The solo part is a guide, which the soloist is welcome to diverge from if desired! In particular, the section between H and K has a free “jazz solo†feel and can be simplified or embellished to suit the player. A soprano duet version is included for use as an unconventional novelty feature. Whilst a Bb version of the 2nd duet part has also been included, this is not the recommended instrumentation, and it will be a challenge to play! Alternate clef trombone parts are provided.

Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.947265 Composed by John Philips. Blues,Jazz. Score and parts. 17 pages. John Philips Music Service #3867627. Published by John Philips Music Service (A0.947265). Very easy chart for middle schools on up. Based on 12 bar blues it runs at about 140 and has simple themes that are done with unison sections. It’ funky 2 beat and make you want to clap your hands on 2 & 4. Fun to play, younger players can do it and learn. It usually works to have the horn players that are not playing in the first part of the chat clap their hands over their head on 2 and 4. This will get the people into it. This is a simple funky 2 beat and should be kept that way. Piano has dissonant afterbeats--should be soft.If you want a Maynard or Buddy chart, look elsewhere. This series of charts uses nothing more complicated than eighth notes, are not frantic or screamers, extreme ranges and are hemi-demi-semi-quaver free. They depend on intonation and the players being not intimidated by what he is asked to play. There is no contest to see how high you can go before you need oxygen , how many notes you can play in 9 seconds or before your bell overheats , or how long it takes the audience to cover their earsRelaxed and confident players always play more in tune. Good harmonies, lines and realistic rhythm patterns will produce a good result that will swing and be enjoyed by player and listener alike.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1173633 Composed by Pasquale Cafaro. Arranged by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo. Classical,Early Music,Opera. Score. 7 pages. Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #773780. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.1173633). Accessible Accompaniments is proud to present the first-ever modern-clef performing edition of Pasquale Cafaro’s once enormously popular aria, “Belle luci, che accendete,†from La disfatta di Dario (1756). As noted in Giorgio Sanguinetti’s The Art of Partimento and other sources, this aria was considered the ideal Galant-era (early Classical) example of aria writing in its day, and its theme was even painted onto pottery to be sold to tourists in Naples. While the aria was written for a castrato role, Alessandro, it is ideal for today’s young lyric coloratura sopranos who want to prepare for Mozart roles but wish to wait until they’ve found their mature vocal technique before tackling those roles. Additionally, because this La disfatta di Dario setting is a rarity and singers are unlikely to be hired for this role, it could be sung in transposition by young mezzos and other fachs without causing logistical issues like the need to produce orchestral parts in new keys.Other aspects of this aria that make it a welcome addition to the voice teacher’s library are its widespread orchestral doubling of the vocal line (something that will help students who are still working on intonation and support), its relatively short, Italian-language text for easy memorization and diction acquisition, and its straightforward textual content—it’s a love song. In audition situations, this aria will be enjoyable for panels to hear, and because they will be very unlikely to know the aria, they won’t be able to critique it as closely as they would critique an aria they know well. It should also be sight-readable by an audition pianist of middling skill, another important consideration in choosing audition repertoire. This new edition was engraved using Bernardo Mengozzi’s piano-vocal reduction from 1804, which preserves the soprano clef voice part and is not widely usable today, and I made some corrections to missing accidentals and articulations by cross-checking with the manuscript full score. Both are available at imslp.org. I also write out the appoggiatura executions and one potentially confusing polyrhythm on ossia staves to assist young singers/collaborative pianists who haven’t done much of this repertoire.Range: Eb4-Bb5 without ornamentationTessitura: around Bb4-F5/G5   Text:Belle luci, che accendeteIn quest' alma un dolce foco,Siete voi, e voi sareteLa mia calma, e il mio piacer.Sì, la calma, e il piacer mioTutto, e sempre in voi s'aggira,Per voi solo il cor respira,Nè più brama il mio pensier.About the Arranger behind Accessible Accompaniments Editions:Praised as a sensitive pianist and outstanding accompanist who delivers powerful interpretations, Nicole Elyse DiPaolo enjoys a multifaceted career as a sought-after collaborative pianist, educational composer, arranger, coach, private teacher, and adjunct music professor. Woodwind Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.996103 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Erik Cole. Classical. 108 pages. Erik Cole #4792771. Published by Erik Cole (A0.996103). When approaching how to arrange this piece, the biggest challenge was the motor rhythm of the repeated eighth notes constantly present in the string parts. It is also occasionally present in the original bassoon parts, however, and is playable if the piece is taken at a more conservative tempo. Double-tonguing certainly makes it possible at faster speeds, but having an entire ensemble that can do it is an unlikely scenario. Leaving it out completely made for a much less exciting arrangement. As such, I've tried to spread those passages among all the parts so that no one part had to do it for too long a stretch at a time. Also, the option to replace the eighth notes with quarter notes is present in all the parts - that can be done uniformly throughout the ensemble, only for players that need it, or even would be fine if players who can mostly keep up with the tonguing need just a measure or two break. As typical in my large transcriptions, all of the oboe and bassoon parts are divisi in two parts. I did my best to keep up with the tonguing in the layered recording attached, and, as always, keep in mind that I'm an oboist, and please forgive my inelegant attempt at what is a very standard and challenging bassoon excerpt.

Violin Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1022489 Composed by Jacob Litoff. World. 2 pages. Jacob Litoff #2013711. Published by Jacob Litoff (A0.1022489). I wrote this piece as I was trying to figure out all the harmonics on the violin on a hot day in June 1999. The first section represents all the cars that I heard in the morning rush hour on their way to work on that hot summer day driving up route 1, route 1A, and route 95. Section A represents all those people busy at work in the morning trying to turn the world upside down. First the melody is right side up, then it is upside down. They're in air conditioned buildings of course! Then the opening section gets played once again, this time representing everyone going out in the hot weather for lunch and to do a few errands as fast as possible. Next comes section B. If one wants to leave out the bottom harmonic at the beginning of the measures 1, 2, & 3, in lines 1, 3 and 4, that makes it a little easier, but it is nice when both notes can be played. This section is work after lunch. It is supposed to go a little slower, for everyone is getting bogged down with to many assignments and they're starting to get exhausted. Then comes the opening section one last time. This time it is rush hour on the way home, and all the errands that must be done, like taking kids to soccer practice, ballet , tap dancing and violin lessons(or whatever) and trying to fix dinner or grab a pizza somewhere in there. Just before getting to the end of the section this time at the sign jump to the coda, and here it can slow down just a little for this is one collapsing at the end of the day when everything is over.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.749204 Composed by Des'ree Weekes and Tim Attack. Arranged by HELEN MARPLE-HORVAT. Contemporary. Score and parts. 14 pages. Helen Marple-Horvat #3548867. Published by Helen Marple-Horvat (A0.749204). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfUzzRnPptQ  ‘Kissing You’ was written for the 1996 film Romeo and Juliet by Des’ree Weekes and Tim Atack, with the gorgeous string arrangements by Craig Armstrong. It is a much loved song, very well received by the critics and public alike, and hugely popular at weddings. As well as this arrangement for string quartet, I also have an arrangement on Sheet Music Plus, for female singer and string quartet backing. The Quartet version can be found on my Skinny Black Dogs Youtube Channel, by typing in ‘Romeo and Juliet, Kissing You’. The parts are not difficult to play, and the key is easy for strings. As usual, the first violin has the hardest part in trying to sustain the slow melody with a good vibrato, but my bowing is just a guide, and less experienced players can easily change the bow more often. There is some double stopping, in order to get all the necessary notes into those beautiful chords which thickens the texture, but almost all of it has an open string as one of the notes. There is a tricky part for cello at Bar 28, but with a little help from a good teacher, I’m sure that it is not impossible. The cellist in my Youtube recording plays it very lightly, and it could also be done in thumb position, played an octave lower, or simplified. There is also a cello solo in fourth position at bar 14 including the high harmonic A. There needs to be room for some rubato in the song and the lead needs to be taken from whomever has the tune! Hope you enjoy playing this song! It was a lot of fun to arrange!

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1301445 By Barry Manilow. By Bruce Johnston. Arranged by Unimusic Academy. Contemporary,Pop,Rock,Singer/Songwriter. Score. 4 pages. Unimusic Academy (Academia Unimusica) #891073. Published by Unimusic Academy (Academia Unimusica) (A0.1301445). I Write the Songs is a popular song written by Bruce Johnston in 1975 and released on his album Going Public in 1977. Barry Manilow's version reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in January 1976[2] after spending two weeks atop the Billboard adult contemporary chart in December 1975.[3] It won a Grammy Award for Song of the Year and was nominated for Record of the Year in 1977.[3] Billboard ranked it as the No. 13 song of 1976.[4]The original version was recorded by Captain & Tennille, who worked with Johnston in the early 1970s with the Beach Boys. It appears on their 1975 album Love Will Keep Us Together. The first release of I Write the Songs as a single was by teen idol David Cassidy from his 1975 solo album The Higher They Climb, which was also produced by Johnston. Cassidy's version reached number 11 on the UK Singles Chart in August of that year.[5]Johnston has stated that, for him, the I in the song is God,[2] and that songs come from the spirit of creativity in everyone. He has said that the song is not about his Beach Boys bandmate Brian Wilson.[6]Manilow was initially reluctant to record the song, stating in his autobiography Sweet Life: The problem with the song was that if you didn't listen carefully to the lyric, you would think that the singer was singing about himself. It could be misinterpreted as a monumental ego trip.[3] After persuasion by Clive Davis, then president of Arista Records, Manilow recorded the song, and his version of I Write the Songs was the first single taken from the album Tryin' to Get the Feeling. It first charted on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 15, 1975, reaching the top of the chart nine weeks later, on January 17, 1976. Cash Box said of Manilow's version Good work Barry describing the song as melodic, ballad-like beginning grows into an operatic crescendo, all done in clear production that all age groups will appreciate.[7] Record World called it an uplifting production number and perhaps [Manilow's] strongest offering since 'Mandy.' Pre-heard for recorder consort is a post-minimalist work that is challenging but not unemployable to play and listen too. This was the last work I composed by hand (written in 1997), not using a scoring program as I've done since. Thus, it does sound different. The sections in it are more disconnected and I think you can hear the almost graphic-based experiments I am conducting as I'm writing it (these are not bad things - there is a real clarity to this work). I couldn't resist making some changes to it as I was digitizing it. I've ironed out some of the crazier rhythms (that looked good on paper but were meaningless in performance) and added a repeat to make the piece more coherent. It is about 5 minutes in duration (score and parts included).

As a composer, musical ideas pop into my head every day. Most of them are completely unrelated to any piece I am currently working on, and I manage to write some of them down for future reference. The theme to Morning Sunrise is one of those ideas. When I wrote it down, I had no idea that I was ever going to create a piece from it, so I just wrote it down for strings.Several months later, however, I had decided that I wanted to write a piece to thank those who have made my high school music life great. I spent weeks developing 4 or 5 themes and even had half of a piece done at one point, but none of theme worked. I then remembered this one from and realized that it was the perfect theme. The result of taking so long to complete this piece is that it is a very powerful piece where there are no extraneous notes, and no missing ones either. It is one where every detail matters.Includes:ScorePiccoloFluteOboeBassoon 1-2Clarinet in Bb 1-3Bass ClarinetAlto SaxophoneTenor SaxophoneBaritone SaxophoneTrumpet in Bb 1-3Horn in F 1-4Trombone 1-3EuphoniumTubaDouble BassTimpaniDuration: 4 MinutesFor more information about the piece, visit https://nickmazuk.com/Works/MorningSunrise Contact: https://nickmazuk.com/Contact/
