Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.940425 Composed by Samuel Cho. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 8 pages. Samuel Cho #3446141. Published by Samuel Cho (A0.940425). Arbophillia is latin for the love of trees and was written for William Howard's love songs project in 2016 as a new conception of the idea of love in contemporary times. It is, in spirit, inspired by the wonder for trees as poet Philip Larkin wrote in his 'The Trees', naming them 'unresting castles' in their ability to seemingly die every winter and bloom in green every spring. The tree is taken as the ultimate symbol for nature, as it harbours micro-ecosystems of ants and funghi, of earth worms and cicadas. Its branches perpetuate in a manner that is strange and yet as natural as we have five fingers on our hands. Numerous proverbs and countless poems have been written about trees. This piece is another ode to them, attempting to encapsulate these aspects through the exploitation of the piano's registers and possibilities for colour.   William Howard gave the world premiere of Arbophillia on the 26th of April 2017 in Hoxton Hall, London.

Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.752401 Composed by Hughie Charles and Ross Parker. Arranged by Rob Bushnell. Opera. Score and parts. 1 pages. RBMusic #5741079. Published by RBMusic (A0.752401). We'll Meet Again was written in 1939 by Ross Parker and Hughie Charles, and made famous by singer Dame Vera Lynn. The song is one of the most famous of the Second World War era. It later gave its name to the 1943 musical film We'll Meet Again, where Vera Lynn played the lead role. During the Cold War, Lynn's recording of the song was included in the package of music and programmes held in 20 underground radio stations of the BBC's Wartime Broadcasting Service (WTBS), designed to provide public information and morale-boosting broadcasts for 100 days after a nuclear attack. In 2005, Vera Lynn sang the song in London on the 60th Anniversary of VE Day in 2005, and, in 2020, a duet with Katherine Jenkins reached number 72 on the UK Singles Chart. Arranged during the 2019/2020 Coronavirus Pandemic to commemorate/celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day, it is designed for two treble-clef instruments in the same key. This version is in C major (written pitch) – part 1 has a written range from F#4 to G5 and part 2 has a written range from C#4 to D5. (For other parts/versions, see my other We’ll Meet Again titles.) Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869856). I read a recent article in the New York Times about Isaac Newton's Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, published in London in 1687, saying that it had a reputation for unreadability. And that it was written in Latin immediately stoked my curiosity. I went to Amazon and bought a copy of the original facsimile text in Latin and an authoritative English translation by a Harvard Professor of the History of Science, I. Bernard Cohen. The third book in Principia really piqued my interest: the gravitational forces between the sun and planets!!! This work is in six movements.  1. Regula III  2. Propositio VI  3. Clarinet Trio,Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.553769 Composed by Domenico Gallo. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Baroque,Holiday,Wedding. 11 pages. RayThompsonMusic #4283761. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553769). This music was originally attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi, as they were in a Mr R. Bremner's original 1780 London publication and also arranged by Hugo Riemann, and again wrongly attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi. It is actually made up of 3 different pieces: Gallo's 2nd Trio Sonata in Bb. Mvts I and III, and Trio Sonata No 8 in Eb.All 3 Gallo mvts were used by Igor Stravinsky in the 3rd mvt. Scherzinoof his Neo Classical Pulcinella Suite. There is few bars joining the 3 mvts...one is Stravinsky's own, one is from a Pergolesi Opera. The Pulcinella Suite for small chamber orchestra and 3 vocalists which was derived from the ballet, was written in 1922 and has no vocal parts. But even though Stravinsky used Pergolesi's(which were in this case Gallo's) melodies and bass lines with little change, he managed to put his own unmistakable stamp on the music through his use of modern harmonies and occasional rhythmic modifications.I have used transcriptions of the original pieces, but have transposed them into the keys used by Stravinsky. I have included the original Pergolesi Aria as the first link, and a scale passage of my own for the second. My arrangement is in the same format as Stravinsky's so is a complete work.I have another upload with the 3 separate movts in their original keys. This arrangement is interesting to play and  do not sound too dissimilar to Stravinsky's final work.It is arranged for clarinet trio (2 Bb and bass)https://youtu.be/PMC-84MmuYw

Woodwind Ensemble Clarinet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.750994 Composed by Sir Edward Elgar (1899). Arranged by Brendan Elliget MAGA 537. Classical,Romantic Period. 16 pages. BJE Music #6021545. Published by BJE Music (A0.750994). Edward Elgar composed his Variations on an Original Theme, Op. 36, popularly known as the Enigma Variations, between October 1898 and February 1899. It is an orchestral work comprising fourteen variations on an original theme. Nimrod (Adagio) was the 9th variation The name of this variation refers to Augustus J. Jaeger, who was employed as a music editor by the London publisher Novello & Co. He was a close friend of Elgar's, giving him useful advice but also severe criticism, something Elgar greatly appreciated. Elgar later related how Jaeger had encouraged him as an artist and had stimulated him to continue composing despite setbacks. Nimrod is described in the Old Testament as a mighty hunter before the Lord, Jäger being German for hunter. It has been arranged here in the key of Eb for a Clarinet Choir (Septet) including parts for Eb Clarinet, Alto Clarinet in Eb, and Bb Bass ClarinetThe MP3 was recorded with NotePerformer.Grade = 3.5 Duration = 3:15 mins

Solo Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1392100 Composed by Mauro Giuliani (1781-1829). Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Classical. Individual part. 19 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #975591. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1392100). PREFACE AND BRIEF ANALYTICAL NOTESThe three sonatinas op.71 by Mauro Giuliani in C, G, and D were first published in 1816 in Vienna and were intended as student pieces of progressive difficulty. In parallel with this intention they are also fully developed three-movement works which reveal Giulianiâ??s technique as a composer with harmony, counterpoint, and structure. They certainly have the time length and the variety of full scale sonatas, but here Giuliani has chosen to use the supporting structures of sonatas met in movements other than the first, such as Menuetto and Trio, Rondo, Marcia and Trio, Scherzo and Trio, etc,  rather than sonata form itself. As it stands, this first sonatina in C has the following three movements:1 Maestoso (Moderato) which is a set of a theme and three variations, or better termed as a set of mathematical divisions reminiscent of an earlier era, as the accompaniment of the theme is given in crotchets, quavers, quaver triplets, and semi-quavers.2 Menuetto-Trio-Menuetto da capo written typically in the subdominant key of F and fully developed as per classical 19th century usage.3 Rondo. This movement is also written in a classical rondo style and form as an A-B-A-C-B-A-codetta  structure, with a typical tonal scheme of A in the tonic Key (C), B in the dominant key (G), and C in the relative minor key (Am).Therefore in this work we do not meet with structural innovations of any kind, but with strong affirmation of already existing and well established early 19th century structural norms, but the beautiful personal melodic and harmonic style of Giuliani and even his routine guitaristic nuances and formulas are present in all three movements and can be enjoyed as always.TECHNICALThis publication keeps each separate movement within the limit of two pages, thus avoiding page turns. It is published with two versions of the same pieces given in undecorated and decorated pages for the user to select which version he prefers to print out. Blank pages have been provided for insertion/deletion for the correct placement of left-right hand pages.Metronome marks are only editorial suggestions that need not be taken too literally.Sibelius Mp3 archive has been extracted for this publication using Note Performer playback engine.Socrates ArvanitakisLondon 2024.

Cornelius Edition (uk) #865615. Published by Cornelius Edition (uk) (A0.1273477). We'll Gather Lilacs, also called We'll Gather Lilacs In The Spring, is a song by Welsh composer Ivor Novello which he wrote for the hit musical romance Perchance to Dream. The stage musical opened at the Hippodrome Theatre in London's West End in 1945 and ran until 1948. The song was the most popular and enduring to emerge from the production.  It has since been performed by many artists, including notably Anne Zieglerand Webster Booth, Richard Tauber, Bing Crosby Frank Sinatra  and Julie Andrews.Written as World War II drew to its close, the song describes the yearning of parted couples to be reunited. It evokes the joy they would feel when together once again, and the pleasures of the English countryside in spring with its lilac blossom. This version is in the higher key of G and suitable for Soprano or Tenor voices.

Arranged by Konrad Harley (1986-), 2024.Words by Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822).I bring fresh showers for the thirsting flowers,From the seas and the streams;I bear light shade for the leaves when laidIn their noonday dreams. From my wings are shaken the dews that wakenThe sweet buds every one,When rocked to rest on their mother's breast,As she dances about the sun.I wield the flail of the lashing hail,And whiten the green plains under,And then again I dissolve it in rain,And laugh as I pass in thunder.I am the daughter of Earth and Water,And the nursling of the Sky;I pass through the pores of the ocean and shores;I change, but I cannot die.For after the rain when with never a stainThe pavilion of Heaven is bare,And the winds and sunbeams with their convex gleamsBuild up the blue dome of air,I silently laugh at my own cenotaph,And out of the caverns of rain,Like a child from the womb, like a ghost from the tomb,I arise and unbuild it again.
