Bach is a well know German Baroque composer and harmonizer. Count von Zinzendorf was a German bishop, missionary, and hymnist of the early 18th Century. Bach had influence on many musicians to come while von Zinzendorf had influence on the Moravians and John Wesley. The count may have barrowed this 1698 Drese tune, aka Seelenbräutigam. A modulation to a new key occurs at the end of B section with the aid of a French augmented sixth chord. Section C introduces a descant by yours truly.
