The vocal range keeps it accessible to the average singer, with the soprano staying with the melody line with only a few minor changes. Vibraphone & Cello, it can be accompanied by Piano, although the original instrumentational type does (in my opinion) give the best overall effect. Bach is a well know German Baroque composer and harmonizer. Count von Zinzendorf was a German bishop, missionary, and hymnist of the early 18th Century. Bach had influence on many musicians to come while von Zinzendorf had influence on the Moravians and John Wesley. The count may have barrowed this 1698 Drese tune, aka Seelenbräutigam. A modulation to a new key occurs at the end of B section with the aid of a French augmented sixth chord. Section C introduces a descant by yours truly.

Remember the 80's? One of my favorite memories was President Ronald Reagan, a well-loved man that made America a better place. This song is a tribute to our former president. Written in C minor, this late intermediate piano solo is a fun jazz/blues piece played in a swing rhythm complete with fingering, triplets (quarter, eighth, and 16th note), grace notes, and left hand broken octaves that walk up and down the bass section of the piano. The bridge changed to the relative Major of Eb and is an old-time (Happy Days style) rock-n-roll. I think you'll have a lot of fun playing this piece as well as getting some toes tapping.
