Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.790122 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Diamond S Music. Baroque,Concert,Instructional. Score. 3 pages. Diamond S Music #3664605. Published by Diamond S Music (A0.790122). 2-Part Invention No. 1 in C major by J.S. BACH, BWV 772 for Solo Piano. This is the original version of the beloved 15 2-Part Inventions by Johann Sebastian Bach. The Inventions is a collection of short pieces Bach wrote for the musical education of his young pupils. These are among the finest examples of artistic gems ever written for this purpose, and probably because of this, they became very popular among Bach's pupils and others ever since they were written. The work comprises fifteen two-part, each named 'inventio', and fifteen three-part pieces, named 'sinfonia'. These two groups of pieces are arranged in an identical fashion-in ascending order by key-so that there is little doubt that Bach's intention was to bring them together as a single work. This is also confirmed by the way they are carefully written in his autograph fair copy penned in 1723. On every facing page of an open volume each piece demonstrates the contrapuntal technique, while, at the same time, explores a wide range of musical expressions using various styles and developing the motives in a logical fashion.  Other similar arrangements and selections from DIAMOND S MUSIC available at: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/diamond-s-music/6940

Bach for Violin Solo, strings and alto solo was now arranged for C instruments and Piano accompaniment. You will be delighted to play this beautiful and satisfying piece of music by J. S. Bach that lifts the spirit and soul. The St Matthew Passion (German: Matthäus-Passion), BWV 244, is a Passion, a sacred oratorio written by Johann Sebastian Bach in 1727 for solo voices, double choir and double orchestra, with libretto by Picander. It sets chapters 26 and 27 of the Gospel of Matthew (in the Luther Bible) to music, with interspersed chorales and arias. It is widely regarded as one of the masterpieces of classical sacred music. The original Latin title Passio Domini nostri J.C. secundum Evangelistam Matthæum translates to The Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ according to the Evangelist Matthew Originally for alto voice, violin solo and string orchestra. The arias are in da capo format (ternary form). Erbarme dich, for alto, and Mache dich, mein Herze, rein, for bass, are examples of such arias in Part Two of the oratorio. In these movements the singers are accompanied by one or a few solo instruments and continuo, occasionally completed by other instrument groups of the orchestra. Flavio Regis Cunha is a pianist, conductor and composer from São Paulo - Brasil. He is currently finishing his doctorate at Mackenzie Presbyterian University where he works as conductor of the Mackenzie University Orchestra and resident composer.
