Brass Ensemble,Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1509045 By Samantha Hogan. By Samantha Hogan. Arranged by Samantha Hogan. 21st Century,Christmas,Medieval,Renaissance,Sacred. 54 pages. Coffee Seal Music #1084296. Published by Coffee Seal Music (A0.1509045). Timing: 6-8 MinutesDifficulty- later Intermediate -Advanced, due to the key signature.Suitable For: Any time of the year, but especially around Christmas time, or at a concert that needs a Medieval flair.Gaudete is perhaps the most famous Christmas melody from the Middle Ages, likely dating from the 1500s, and covered by many a modern band, including The King's Singers, Erasure, and Steeleye Span, to name a few.To write this piece, I took motifs from the tune and wrote my own melodies, avoiding a direct transcription of any part of the original melody.  Mvt 1, Fanfare, is a bright opening to the suite. After all, the word Gaudete translates to “rejoice”!Mvt 2 plays with the Pavane and Galliard feel. Both are distinct dances, and while this movement is more somber than danceable to the average listener, it utilizes some tricks that the medieval composers used, as well as draws inspiration from medieval compositional techniques for harmonies. Just like medieval dances, if you were to add a repeat sign at the end, you could play this movement ad nauseam and choose to never end it.Mvt 3, Scherzo, plays with your expectation of time but is a fun jaunt after the serious tone of Mvt 2 nonetheless. If you like Gordon Jacob (not a Renaissance composer), you’ll probably like this movement.I’ve included Mvt 0, Just Gaudete, as a bonus. You may begin or end the suite with this movement, play the opening statement to introduce the audience to the tune, or omit it entirely. You may even shuffle the order of movements if you’d like.

Flute Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.762910 By Panic! At the Disco. By Brendon Urie, Ilsey Juber, Jacob Sinclair, Jenny Owen Youngs, Jonas Jeberg, Lauren Pritchard, Samuel Hollander, Tayla Parx, Taylor Parks, and William Lobban Bean. Arranged by Lori Cummings. Contemporary,Instructional,Pop,Rock,Singer/Songwriter. Individual part. 2 pages. Lori Cummings #4625507. Published by Lori Cummings (A0.762910). This arrangement of a popular, high-energy song by Panic at the Disco is written for any treble instrument.  The lowest note is D beside Middle C, so would work for a wide range of instruments, including flute, violin, clarinet, saxophone (soprano or alto) or trumpet.  It begins with a strong beat with the introduction, then includes the chorus which is repeated throughout the song, one verse, ending with the chorus and then the fun beats of the introduction.  The notes cover a wide range, especially in the verse, so this song is more suitable for a skilled player (intermediate level).  However the introduction and chorus part would be suitable for elementary level students. This arrangement would also be fun to use in a group setting with older students with handbells, Orff instruments or Boomwhackers.   See also my Easy Piano version, which also would be suitable for handbells or Boomwhackers.
