Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bass Clarinet,E-Flat Clarinet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1099603 Composed by Antonin Dvořák (1841-1904). Arranged by James Pybus. 20th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival. 26 pages. James Pybus #703475. Published by James Pybus (A0.1099603). Largo (Going Home) is the second movement from Dvořák’s Symphony No.9. This arrangement for clarinets is in the original key and is playable by SSAB or SSSB quartet. Would Dvořák have approved of this adaptation of his music? It is pure speculation of course, but I would like to believe that as a composer who incorporated folk influences into his nationalistic style, he would have embraced this reimagining of one of his most popular melodies. Duration is ca. 9:00. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.573391 Composed by Frederic Chopin. Arranged by edition by James Michael Stevens. Contemporary,Romantic Period,Sacred,Wedding,World. Score. 3 pages. James M Stevens Music ASCAP #5376947. Published by James M Stevens Music ASCAP (A0.573391). This is a new edition of Chopin's Prelude in E Minor, Opus 28, No. 4 that is not based on Chopin's original autograph copy, but based on certain performance practices of this great masterpiece. While maintaining the exact notes, there are differences in slurring, dynamics, and articulations. The lyrical melody is notated to represent the natural nuances of the singing voice. The recording was recorded by Stevens in April, 2020. James Michael Stevens is a prolific composer residing in Nashville, TN and serves as the Music Department Chairman of Welch College.

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.764692 Composed by Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924). Arranged by James Pybus. Contest,Festival,Opera,Romantic Period. 9 pages. James Pybus #4355739. Published by James Pybus (A0.764692). E lucevan le stelle (When the stars were brightly shining) is the romanza of Mario Cavaradossi, the tenor, a painter in love with Tosca, in the third act of Puccini's opera Tosca, composed in 1899 to an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. It is sung by Cavaradossi while he waits for his execution on the roof of Castel Sant’Angelo.  The aria is introduced by a somber clarinet solo. The incipit of the melody (heard in outline earlier in the act, as the sky lightens and the gaoler prepares for the execution) is repeated on the lines O dolci baci, o languide carezze (With sweetest kisses, tenderest caresses), and also restated in forte in the closing bars of the opera, as Tosca jumps from the ramparts. This arrangement for SATB Saxophone Quartet will allow your audience to enjoy one of the most well-known arias in all of Opera while at the same time giving your quartet a chance to demonstrate your versatility. Performance time is ca. 2:11. Please contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.
