Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F major, BWV 1047 was originally scored for a Concertino of natural trumpet in F, recorder, oboe, violin, with a Ripieno of two violins, viola, violone, and basso continuo (including harpsichord). This challenging arrangement has been adapted for a Saxophone Quintet: Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone and Bass. An alternate Baritone part is included that is more saxophone friendly, and a 2nd Baritone part is included as a substitute for the Bass. This is the first in a new collection where I will be writing compositions in all of the modes except for Ionian (Major).
