Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1326661 By Rina Sawayama. By Lauren Amber Aquilina, Paul Epworth, Rina Sawayama, and Vic Jamieson. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 21st Century,Country,Disco,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. 43 pages. John Ivor Holland #914803. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1326661). This Hell is a song by Japanese-British singer-songwriter Rina Sawayama. It was released in May 2022 as the first single from her second album 'Hold the Girl' and contains references to numerous country and western motifs such as cowboys and horseriding; Sawayama has noted Dolly Parton and Kacey Musgraves as inspirations, as well as Shania Twain, whom Sawayama has described as The queen of country pop. This Hell was written by Sawayama while reflecting about attacks against LGBT people, often motivated by religious beliefs, stating: When the world tells us we don't deserve love and protection, we have no choice but to give love and protection to each other; I wanted to write a western pop song that celebrated COMMUNITY and LOVE in a time where the world seemed hellish. Arranged as part of an ongoing project to bring more music by women into the worldwide concert band repertoire.
