This piece was intended to be the student's first introduction to the world of jazz and the idea was to give them a piece requiring the 'swing' style along with some jazz improvisation using pitches found in one of the pentatonic scales. A flatted fifth is also included in the melodic line. I have included versions for both C (soprano) & F (alto) recorders. Although I imagine players would choose one or the other of the versions, it could also be fun to play the two versions together for a different kind of harmonic sound.
