Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.553214 Composed by Maurice Ravel. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Children,Holiday,Wedding. 8 pages. RayThompsonMusic #14671. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553214). Ravel originally wrote Ma mère l'Oye as a piano duet for the Godebski children, Mimi and Jean, ages 6 and 7. Ravel dedicated this work for four hands to the children (just as he had dedicated an earlier work, Sonatine, to their parents). Jeanne Leleu and Geneviève Durony. It bears the subtitle cinq pièces enfantines (five children's pieces). Ravel later orchestrated the piece. This is the second movement. I have arranged it for wind quintet. Looks easy to play, but requires accurate methodical playing by all 5 musicians.Other movements are available
Ravel: Ma Mère L'Oye (Mother Goose Suite) II Petite Poucet (Tom Thumb) - wind quintet

Instrumental Duet Cello,Instrumental Duet,Viola - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1184237 Composed by Patrick Prejean. Classical,Contemporary. Score and parts. 23 pages. Patrick Prejean #783953. Published by Patrick Prejean (A0.1184237). There are no titles for this piece. I - Reminiscent of Ravel's Sonata for Violin and Cello, the eerie colors provide no warmth. Instead it is ice cold as one stands over a polar plateau alone.II - A parody of Palladio. This movement isn't playful. It has a crass and strident force that drives it forward throughout. There is no melody to be found here.III - This movement is about pain and agony. There is only grey and all other colors have gone away and disappeared. What sense of progress is lost, and we find ourselves looking for anything to latch onto to. Do we truly find it though?

Instrumental Duet Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1172250 Composed by Patrick Prejean. Classical,Contemporary. Score and parts. 30 pages. Patrick Prejean #772433. Published by Patrick Prejean (A0.1172250). Written for City Six Strings. This duet is for the founders of City Six Strings. I chose the title due to place I live and how I've been acclimated to each season. I - With boisterous character and despite all the rain, when spring comes it brings with it all the flowers and butterflies that can be seen.II - There is a reason why most good events happen during the summer with warm weather and no academia to worry about it is often the most productive time of the year.III - Depending on where you fall on the fall vs autumn label, this season brings sweater weather and all of the holidays people most enjoy. Whether it's loads of candy or a massive feast, fall/autumn always has something to provideIV - By far the worst season and especially after this year, I can say nothing good about it. I didn't title it simply winter but rather for the biting cold that grips my bones.

Viola Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1138960 Composed by Patrick Prejean. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 11 pages. Patrick Prejean #739248. Published by Patrick Prejean (A0.1138960). I - La Violence (Violence) With some elements from Prokofiev's Sonata for 2 violins, this movement is about violence and it's many forms hence the title La violence. There is nothing nice about this movement. II - This movement is untitled as I did not wish impose a mental image upon the listener and performer. You'll hear the first fragment of Dies Irae that emerges from the shadows. This is the only happy movement. III - Angoisse (Agony) This is a harkening back to all the bad theory homework over the years in college. From the bad counterpoint to the solemn melody that appears later, this is a of a person who hides their pain away lest it spill out and cause horrendous repercussions. IV - La valse/devenir fou (Waltz/Going crazy) With elements of Ravel's La Valse and Weinberg's Cello Concerto, this movement represents a quick escalation of a deteriorating mental state hence the going crazy title. For a time things seem to dissipate only to come back even worse than before it crashes. For John Grigsby.
