Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1260428 By Les Baxter. By Jack Lawrence, Marguerite Monnot, and Rene Gustave Rouzaud. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Broadway,Film/TV,Multicultural,Musical/Show,Singer/Songwriter,Standards,World. Score. 4 pages. Timothy Stapay #853593. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1260428). The Poor People Of Paris is arranged as played by piano artist, Liberace.  It was often used by Liberace as part of medley of songs about Paris; and in concerts around the world.   The Poor People of Paris is a US pop song that became a number-one instrumental hit in 1956. It is based on the French language song La goualante du pauvre Jean (The Ballad of Poor John), with music by Marguerite Monnot and words by René Rouzaud.  Edith Piaf had one of her biggest hits with the original French version; and she sang it on the Ed Sullivan Show. The song was adapted in 1954 by American songwriter Jack Lawrence, who wrote English lyrics that are considerably different from the original French ones. The English language title arises in part from a misinterpretation of the French title, as pauvre Jean was taken for the same-sounding pauvres gens, which translates as poor people..Lawrence's lyrics, which pronounce Paris as PaREE in the French style, are seldom heard, as most of the popular recordings of the song in the English-speaking world have been instrumentals.

Acoustic Guitar,Electric Bass Guitar,Xylophone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1394296 Composed by Jean-Baptiste Loeillet. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Baroque,Instructional,Standards. 12 pages. Phil Beaman #977773. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1394296). This Baroque piece was originally written by Jean Loeillet as part of a Harpsichord Suite.  It is written in the Italian Corant style in the characteristic Fast(Allegro) 3/4 with rapid running passages of eighth notes (quavers) which alternate scalar steps with large leaps.  Traditionally the piece would have been performed very cleanly, not legato. My arrangement takes the melody and passes it between the three instrument parts.  I wrote a highly ornamented continuo for each part when not playing melody.  In true Baroque style I have created a tight interplay between the parts.  Each part also has a rather wide range of about 2 octaves.  Although in a Minor Key, this piece is very bright and uplifting.  It is very accessible and thus a concert crowd pleaser.   Great for the student recitals too to learn and show mastery of Baroque techniques of clean ensemble playing and ornamentation.  Most of all, this piece is just Pure Fun!  And who would expect a 17th century style piece on Xylophone, Acoustic Guitar, and Electric Bass Guitar!6 pages score, 2 pages @ partRanges -Xylophone -   bottom space F# to E above staffAcoustic Guitar - middle C to A above staffElecBass  Guitar - low B below staff to high E above staff.

Cello Duet Cello - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1508659 By Aaron Sinnett. By Jean-Baptiste Bréval. Arranged by Aaron Sinnett. 19th Century,Baroque,Chamber,Classical. Score. 89 pages. Aaron Sinnett #1083923. Published by Aaron Sinnett (A0.1508659). Jean-Baptiste Bréval, Six Sonatas, Op. 40Score and parts included. (Minimal markings, no additional edits, i.e. no fingerings or bowing added)As per the tradition of the era, Bréval composed the Cello solo and the bass line, leaving the chord making up to the performer. This means that there is originally no piano accompaniment part by Bréval. (If you are familiar with any sonata by said composer, it is likley No. 1 in C major, as it appears in volume 4 of a popular method, which is supplied with a piano accompoaniment.) Even so, as many can attest, most sonatas of the Baroque/early Classical periods are beautiful performed with two cellos, or cello duet.In this edition, I have made the notation modern, the layout clean and clear, as well as providing the score of the two original parts and individual parts, labeled Cello 1 and Cello 2. (For those wishing for historical accuracy in part naming Cello 2 should more appropriately be labelled Basso.) I have elevated it to Cello 2 simply to encourage the performance of this excellent set of sonatas with two cellos. I believe they sound very good this way in spite of being traditionally expected to be performed with a chord making instrument like a keyboard in addition to the solo cello and bass instrument. Thus, making it a trio. The Table of contents is the following without being overly detailed (one of the preview pages will have incipits from all six sonatas as is the custom when printing a complete set of pieces in a single volume).  Sonata No. 1 in C major Sonata No. 2 in F major Sonata No. 3 in G major Sonata No. 4 in Bb major Sonata No. 5 in A major Sonata No. 6 in D major Each sonata is two movements long. They all have first movements with the customary Sonata Allegro form. The seconds movements vary from RONDOs to Minuets to a set of variations. It is my sincere hope that more of these sonatas be learned and performed as they are not only great learning material, Bréval has crafted each one masterfully.
