Flute and piano - intermediate to advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q53377 Op. 34. Composed by Eugene Walckiers. Edited by Edmund Wachter and Elisabeth Weinzierl. This edition: Sheet music. (c) 2020 Schott Music GmbH & Co. KG, Mainz. Classical. Downloadable. Op. 34. 27 pages. Schott Music - Digital #Q53377. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q53377). English • German. As a pupil of Antonin Reicha at the Paris Conservatoire Eugène Walckiers, originally from the French part of Flanders, joined the ranks of illustrious French composers such as Hector Berlioz, Charles Gounod and César Franck. He studied the flute with Jean-Louis Tulou and was one of the few celebrated flute virtuosos of the time whose reputation has survived to this day, thanks to their compositions for and including the flute. He himself played regularly in a legendary quartet with the best flautists of his day: Jean Firmin Brossa, Johannes Donjon and Paul Taffanel. This Fantaisie sur des Motifs de l’Opera “Guillaume Tell†was published in the year following the first performance of the opera both by Schott in Mainz and, with insignificant discrepancies, by Troupenas in Paris (Plate number 374), the original publisher of Rossini’s last four operas. Plate no. 3289 / published in 1830.

Cello,Clarinet,Flute - Digital Download SKU: A0.1393780 Composed by Jean-Baptiste Loeillet. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Baroque,Instructional,Standards. 12 pages. Phil Beaman #977252. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1393780). This Baroque piece was originally written by Jean Loeillet as part of a Harpsichord Suite.  It is written in the Italian Corant style in the characteristic Fast(Allegro) 3/4 with rapid running passages of eighth notes (quavers) which alternate scalar steps with large leaps.  Traditionally the piece would have been performed very cleanly, not legato. My arrangement takes the melody and passes it between the three instrument parts.  I wrote a highly ornamented continuo for each part when not playing melody.  In true Baroque style I have created a tight interplay between the parts.  Each part also has a rather wide range of about 2 octaves.  Although in a Minor Key, this piece is very bright and uplifting.  It is very accessible and thus a concert crowd pleaser.   Great for the student recitals too to learn and show mastery of Baroque techniques of clean ensemble playing and ornamentation.  Most of all, this piece is just Pure Fun!6 pages score, 2 pages @ partRanges -Flute - second space Ab to high F above staffClarinet - bottom space F# to high C above staffCello - low C below staff to high E above staffrecording is of Flute-Oboe-Cello version, with Clarinet subbing for the Oboe part.

Piano,Voice Duet Piano,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534403 Composed by Jacques Leguerney. 20th Century,Christian,Concert,Sacred,Standards. 15 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3457407. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534403). This is one of two duets that Leguerney wrote for Geneviève Touraine and her brother, the famous French baritone Gérard Souzay. It was completed on 21 January 1950. The first performance, with Souzay and Touraine, was 21 June 1950 in the Parisian Salle Gaveau with Jacqueline Robin (Bonneau) at the piano.  Previously unpublished, De l’abîme profond, was first recorded by soprano Danielle Borst and baritone Philippe Huttenlocher with Mary Dibbern at the piano. This was for the CD 50-9618, 28 Mélodies issued by Claves Records-Radio Suisse Romande: Espace 2 in 1996. The recording was recognized with the Grand Prix du Disque de l’Académie Charles Cros. The US premiere performance was by soprano Jill Pearon and baritone David Pittman-Jennings, accompanied by Mary Dibbern, during a recital at the Crane School of Music, SUNY-Potsdam, New York, 23 October 2007. The vocal range for the soprano line is C1-G#2 and for the baritone line is B-F1. The text’s poet, Jean de La Céppède (1550-1622), was born in Marseille and spent most of his life working as a lawyer and magistrate in Aix–en–Provence. His principal work, Théorèmes, consists of 515 sonnets dealing with the life of Jesus Christ and the “sacred mysteries of our redemption.†La Céppède’s poem is a translation of a psalm by David from the Old Testament of the Bible. Leguerney also set a psalm of David for medium voice and chamber orchestra, which was premiered by Gérard Souzay in 1954. This orchestral Psaume LXII de David is also published by Musik Fabrik. The French author Jean Roy, reviewing this duet in Le Monde de la Musique (January, 1997), wrote: “There is a grandeur and a dramatic sentiment that surpasses [a] work that one might dismiss as minor.†For a detailed discussion of the music and both a word-by-word English translation and International Phonetic Alphabet transcription of the French text, see The Songs of Jacques Leguerney: A Guide for Study and Performance by Mary Dibbern, Carol Kimball and Patrick Choukroun. Cello Duet Cello - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1508659 By Aaron Sinnett. By Jean-Baptiste Bréval. Arranged by Aaron Sinnett. 19th Century,Baroque,Chamber,Classical. Score. 89 pages. Aaron Sinnett #1083923. Published by Aaron Sinnett (A0.1508659). Jean-Baptiste Bréval, Six Sonatas, Op. 40Score and parts included. (Minimal markings, no additional edits, i.e. no fingerings or bowing added)As per the tradition of the era, Bréval composed the Cello solo and the bass line, leaving the chord making up to the performer. This means that there is originally no piano accompaniment part by Bréval. (If you are familiar with any sonata by said composer, it is likley No. 1 in C major, as it appears in volume 4 of a popular method, which is supplied with a piano accompoaniment.) Even so, as many can attest, most sonatas of the Baroque/early Classical periods are beautiful performed with two cellos, or cello duet.In this edition, I have made the notation modern, the layout clean and clear, as well as providing the score of the two original parts and individual parts, labeled Cello 1 and Cello 2. (For those wishing for historical accuracy in part naming Cello 2 should more appropriately be labelled Basso.) I have elevated it to Cello 2 simply to encourage the performance of this excellent set of sonatas with two cellos. I believe they sound very good this way in spite of being traditionally expected to be performed with a chord making instrument like a keyboard in addition to the solo cello and bass instrument. Thus, making it a trio. The Table of contents is the following without being overly detailed (one of the preview pages will have incipits from all six sonatas as is the custom when printing a complete set of pieces in a single volume).  Sonata No. 1 in C major Sonata No. 2 in F major Sonata No. 3 in G major Sonata No. 4 in Bb major Sonata No. 5 in A major Sonata No. 6 in D major Each sonata is two movements long. They all have first movements with the customary Sonata Allegro form. The seconds movements vary from RONDOs to Minuets to a set of variations. It is my sincere hope that more of these sonatas be learned and performed as they are not only great learning material, Bréval has crafted each one masterfully.

Cello and piano - intermediate to advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q53290 Op. 40. Composed by Auguste Joseph Franchomme. Edited by Beverley Ellis and Rainer Mohrs. This edition: Sheet music. (c) 2020 Schott Music GmbH & Co. KG, Mainz. Classical. Downloadable. Op. 40. 16 pages. Schott Music - Digital #Q53290. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q53290). English • German.Auguste Joseph Franchomme was born in Lille on 10.4.1808; he died in Paris in 1884. One of his first cello teachers in Lille was Pierre Baumann, who also taught Edouard Lalo. Giving up the study of Law in favour of the cello, he studied with Jean-Henri Levasseur and Louis-Pierre Norblin from 1825 at the Paris Conservatoire. After that he played in various orchestras until he was eventually able to establish himself as a soloist and chamber musician in Paris. Together with violinist Jean-Delphin Alard he founded the Alard Quartet, one of the few string quartets of the time whose members were all professional musicians. Alongside his concert career, Franchomme was a popular and successful professor at the Conservatoire for almost forty years. His compositions include numerous pieces and studies for the cello, a cello concerto and many transcriptions. Franchomme was a close friend of Chopin: he also composed the cello part to Chopin’s Duo concertante and reworked the cello part for the Polonaise Brillante. Chopin dedicated his Cello Sonata op. 65 to Franchomme. Chopin’s influence is clearly recognisable in Franchomme’s work and particularly evident, for example, in his Étude in C# minor op. 35/11. In 1884 Franchomme was awarded the Légion d’honneur for his services to music. This Fantaisie based on themes from Mozart’s Magic Flute was published in 1873 (plate no. 20425).
