SKU: A0.1010675

Composed by Zachary C. Daniels. Contemporary. Score. 9 pages. Divisi Labs #6563891. Published by Divisi Labs (A0.1010675).

Winds of Time was written in the Summer of 2016 on commission for a colleague, Hayden Iskander, who wished to program a piece of new music on his graduate piano recital in an effort to promote performing new works by living composers. As the work took shape, it developed two distinct personalities, akin to the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The first theme, a calm and contemplative Dr. Jekyll, and the second theme, mischievous and a slightly rambunctious Mr. Hyde. As the piece progresses, these two melodies take on more of each other’s traits until, in the end, Mr. Hyde wins the day. This piece demonstrates that, over time, all our best laid plans must change. What matters is how we choose to embrace, or reject, the winds of time.

By Linda Eder. By Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse. Arranged by David Lee Gingras and John E. Dosher. Broadway,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 4 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #702732. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1098886).

A New Life is a very pretty ballad from the 1990 musical Jekyll & Hyde. This musical is loosely based on the 1886 novella The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. Originally conceived for the stage by Frank Wildhorn and Steve Cuden, it features music by Frank Wildhorn, a book by Leslie Bricusse and lyrics by all of them. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used many of our arrangements and we've included a few really sweet left-hand fills to keep the tempo going! This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used many of our arrangements and we've included a few really sweet left-hand fills to keep the tempo going! We've provided lyrics for only the first two verses in an effort to keep the sheet music from getting too cluttered. The remainder of the lyrics are readily available at a number of sites online. We hope you like what we've done with the song!

Key: C major.

Sorry I haven't uploaded in a while, truth is, I haven't been inspired to write anything extraordinary lately because this lockdown had me feeling down. Last month I went to visit a friend of mine in Canton, GA, and it inspired me to write this song. It's kind of like one of my earlier compositions Kentucky Hills. Georgia is definitely one of my favorite states, and I absolutely *love* to travel. No matter how long the drive, I will go anywhere if I am determined enough. This was a seven-to-eight hour drive and was definitely worth it. Earlier this year I also drove up to University of Northern Florida in Jacksonville, FL, which is two and a half hours north of me. From there I took a friend up to Jekyll Island, which was beautiful. Speaking of UNF, that is where I am going for my fall term. I'm going to major in music education and also finish my AA up there. I am going to try to be more active this summer, you can count on it. :) Thanks for listening! --Reese.
