Viola Duet Viola - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1117976 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Christmas,Easter,Sacred,Wedding. Score. 6 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #719484. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1117976). This easy arrangement for viola duet has been adapted to be simple to perform and understand the structure of the original work for various levels of musical knowledge. It can be played freely by beginning students because of the ease imposed on the piece. It is often performed at wedding ceremonies slowly and reverently, challenging the effect suggested by Bach in his original score for voices with trumpet, oboes, strings, and continuous bass. This is one of Bach's most beautiful cantatas, made famous by the Jesus the Joy of Men chorus. It was originally composed for Advent 1716 in Weimar. Years later, already in Leipzig, Advent was tempus clausum, there was no music in the churches. Bach then reworked it for the Feast of Mary's Visitation. It is the final chorale of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Although it is the 32nd cantata composed by Bach, of those that have survived, it was given BWV 147 in the complete catalog of his works.

Solo Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.914748 Composed by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788). Arranged by Eric J Roth. Baroque,Classical. Individual part. 2 pages. Eric J Roth #6017047. Published by Eric J Roth (A0.914748). La Caroline, H. 98 (Wq. 117/36) is one of dozens of short character pieces of great charm written by the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788), oldest son of Johann Sebastian Bach. As a composer, CPE Bach occupied an interesting transitional space between baroque and classical music and certainly helped to usher in the stylistic traits of the latter into general popular usage. The piece here is arranged for classical guitar solo at an intermediate level. It is more a transcription than a true arrangement, and every attempt has been made to keep the music as close to the original as possible. All fingerings are editorial, and most ornaments, except for trills, have been written out rather than notated with a symbol. However, many expert pianists embellish these ornaments (sometimes very lavishly), particularly on repeats, and expert guitarists will likely want to do the same. Since the original music was written an octave higher and to be played on the delicate-sounding keyboard instruments of the 18th century, some guitarists may want to experiment with using a capo to better create a more period-appropriate sound.Bach marks the tempo as Allegro ma con tenerezza (fast but with tenderness) and most keyboardists take it a moderate to quick tempo. On the guitar, which has a different resonance, the piece can also be convincing played at somewhat slower tempos, but certainly nothing slower than a true andante.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1128370 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Chamber,Classical,Contest,Festival,Wedding. 30 pages. Jmsgu3 #728962. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1128370). J. S. Bach's Six Little Preludes BWV 933-938 were composed during the Baroque period. The preludes are in the key of C major and are among Bach's most famous works. They are short pieces, each lasting about two minutes in duration. Each prelude is a miniature, self-contained piece with its own musical ideas and themes. The preludes demonstrate Bach's mastery of counterpoint and his ability to create complex, interesting musical textures. The first prelude is simple and joyful, while the second prelude features a fugue. The third prelude is a chromatic, slightly more serious piece. The fourth prelude is a bright, joyful piece with a lot of counterpoint. The fifth prelude is quiet and contemplative, and the sixth is more lively and upbeat. These preludes provide an excellent example of Bach's mastery of the Baroque style.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Alto Flute,Bass Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.552649 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Holiday,Standards,Wedding. 36 pages. Jmsgu3 #6492349. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.552649). Sonata No. 1 BWV 525, originally for organ, arranged for flute trio: 1 concert flute, 1 alto flute, 1 bass flute. Duration: 14:15, Score: 19 pages. In three movements.I. AllegroII. AdagioIII. AllegroJ.S. Bach's Trio Sonatas BWV 525-530 are some of the most popular and beloved works of the Baroque period. Composed in 1717, these six trio sonatas for the organ are among Bach's earliest works for the instrument. They are all in the traditional three-movement form and are composed in the style of the Italian concerto grosso, with two upper voices (treble and alto) and a basso continuo. The two upper voices often intertwine in intricate contrapuntal melodies, while the basso continuo provides harmonic support. The works are also full of virtuosic passages that demonstrate Bach's mastery of the organ. The Trio Sonatas are considered to be among the most important and influential works of the Baroque era, and they continue to be widely performed and studied today. The Bach Trio Sonatas have been successfully transcribed for a variety of ensembles, including wind, string, and brass ensembles. The parts are easily divided among a variety of wind instruments, including flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and saxophone. In these transcriptions, the original material is retained, but often with some additional orchestration or embellishment. These transcriptions often emphasize the polyphonic texture of the original works, creating a rich soundscape.  The Sonatas have also been successfully adapted for a variety of string ensembles. In these versions, the original two-part texture with the basso is maintained, creating a full and satisfying sound that allows for a more nuanced interpretation of the works. In addition, these transcriptions often add a variety of dynamic markings and articulations that were not present in the original editions. These transcriptions provide performers with a variety of options for interpreting and performing these beloved works.

Published by jmsgu3 (A0.551215). Duet No. 2 - F. 55. Contents: I. Allegro ma non troppo II. Cantabile III. Alla breve IV. Gigue, AllegroThe history of W. F. Bach's Duets F. 54 is rooted in the 18th century and is part of a collection of six duets for two flutes, including F. 55–59. These duets are considered among the finest examples of the genre from the 18th century and are significant as they showcase the composer's talent and contribution to chamber music. The exact dates of composition for these duets are not definitively known, but there is strong evidence that the last two duets, including F. 54, were composed in the last decade of W.F. Bach's life when he lived in Berlin. The duets are characterized by refined nuances, interwoven two-part writing, and rapid outer movements, demonstrating a range of musical expression and technical proficiency. Wilhelm Friedemann Bach (1710–1784) was a German composer, organist, harpsichordist, and Johann Sebastian Bach's eldest son.
