My melody line is more suited to accompanied singing where the piano provides a strong rhythmic support for the melody line. Some very simple harmonies are included, but the piece could easily be sung by a single voice (male or female) or as a duet. This unaccompanied carol is best sung as an introit to a church service but can be equally placed anywhere in a concert of Christmas music. It is a carol best suited to an adult, mixed choir of modest ability but its harmonic interest might appeal to more intermediate/higher ability singers.

I have changed the time signature to common time (from its original 3/4) and introduced a shuffle rhythm in the accompaniment and vocals. Although written as SSA, the lower part could probably be sung by tenor voices. There is a descant for a few upper voices in the final verse.Although the song is considerably different to the original, being more of a Jazz/Blues number, it  is still, in essence, a simple Christmas song to be enjoyed by choirs of any size or ability.
