Endless Song is a cantata for SATB choir (with divisions) accompanied by strings (quartet, quintet, or orchestra) or piano. Duration c.28 mins.
 
Endless Song celebrates the joy of singing, setting texts by poets including Walt Whitman, James Weldon Johnson, and Rabindranath Tagore, and incorporating the traditional song 'How can I keep from Singing'. 
 
It was commissioned by the Waltham Singers, conductor Andrew Fardell, and first performed in Great Waltham Church, Essex, in June 2023, with the Maggini String Quartet plus double-bass.

Reflections is an expressive and colourful piece for cello and piano, which paints a picture of a river in which the trees on the bank are reflected in the ebbing and flowing water. It was originally written for an Anglia TV film entitled The Painting Room, about the River Stour in East Anglia, home to Flatford Mill and to John Constable’s landscape paintings, and was first performed by Joanna Borrett (cello) and the composer.
The cello/piano score and the separate cello part are both contained in the same file.

Alan Bullard's 'A Bunyan Garland' is a setting of four short poems by John Bunyan (author of The Pilgrim's Progress), for upper voices SSAA. The lively 'Upon a Peal of Bells' is followed by the smooth and slow moving 'The Snail'. The dramatic 'Sunset' leads to the humorous 'The Hen', with cackles a-plenty!

This Pentecost anthem for SATB or SABar unaccompanied is a modern setting of a translation by the seventeenth century Bishop John Cosin of the plainsong text Veni Creator Spiritus. Cosin's text has been slightly modernised. The anthem consists of verses in harmony, with refrain usually for unison or solo voices, and the whole piece seeks to achieve a mood of predominantly quiet contemplation.

Suitable for concert performance, Suffolk Sketches comprises five musical pictures of the county of Suffolk, part of East Anglia. The movements are
 
·      Framlingham Castle, and a view of Suffolk – the ‘castle on the hill’ which looks out over the town, and beyond to rolling countryside and farmland.
·      Orford Ness – to the far east of the county, a mysterious and unpopulated stretch of shingle isolated by water from the rest of the county – formerly a secret military establishment, now a national nature reserve.
·      Newmarket Races – Newmarket, in the far west of Suffolk, is among the largest racehorse training and breeding centres in the country, and is famed internationally for its race-meetings.
·      Willows reflected in the Stour – the River Stour forms the southern boundary of Suffolk, and passes by Flatford Mill where John Constable painted his picture ‘The Haywain’
·      Felixstowe Holiday – as well as being a large commercial port, the popular seaside resort of Felixstowe provides many activities for holiday makers with its beach, its pier, its seafront promenade and its amusement arcades!

This short cantata is an accessible and tuneful portrait of Spring. Its four lighthearted movements begin as the snow melts and life beings anew: following this is a hymn to spring and new growth, which is followed by the humorous nonsense song `Spring is Sprung' and finally the choir welcomes May in all its glory and promise of Summer. The words of the first and last songs, `The Snow Melts' and `The Coming of May', are by the nineteenth-century nature-poet John Clare, and the second movement `Hymn to Spring' is by John Newton.
Welcome Spring! is for SATB choir, optional youth choir, and piano, and its original title was ‘Welcome May!’.  A version with string orchestra accompaniment (which you can hear on the audio) is also available from Colne Edition.

Although When I’m Sixty-Four was first released on the Beatles album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) this song was written ten years earlier by the 14-year old Paul McCartney, and presents a quirky view of young love presented in a nostalgic vaudeville style. In this easy-to play arrangement, the left hand is mainly light and staccato with the melody singing out smoothly above.
