This song has 14 chapters representing 12 waltzes mixed. The music sheet has 213 pages and can be electronically converted to a soundtrack playing for about 21 minutes. Some songs (chapters) were composed of ancient Chinese poems by famous poets like Liu Bang, Bai Juyi, Tao Yuan-ming, Su Dong-po, et al. A video with the same title has been posted on YouTube.com, which contains more than 130 images of photos and a few short videos with the background melody of this song. Although most of the songs were published before as early as 2008 and later, the author re-composed carefully based on his memory with certain modifications and key signature changes to adjust an even playing of the song in one whole piece. The highlights of the stories' songs are as follows: The beginning part of the song is originally called the prelude of Tao Yuan-ming's The Eutopia of the Peach Land Spring; which is followed by the historical long poem of 616 Chinese characters called Pi Pa Xing by Bai Ji-yi around 1:30. Around 8:06 is a small bird feeding her young chicken and its tail-dancing matches with the melody of the song which was modified from Beijing Opera by the composer. Around 11:30 is the song called Wedding Waltz for Su Dong-po's poem Written on the West Wood Wall; around 13:40 is the Chi Le Song; around 14:00 to 15:00 is the song - Love Forever, which was jointly created with his son Raymond and his wife Catherine 25 years ago. The playing time at 15:30 is the song the author wrote for his poem called Life and Sea in 100 Chinese Characters; around 18:00 to 19:00 is King's Wedding by the author. Two songs around 11:00 are Raise the Championship Cup and 19:30 Bon Voyage which the composer wrote for the 2008 Bejing Olympic Games.

It is said that the original meaning of the word Lullaby is to drive away the devil to steal the soul when a baby is in sleeping. Among many lullabies it is almost unanimously considered that the Johannes Brahms’ lullaby, with rhythms in ¾, is the best. However, the world is in promotion. The lyrics of that lullaby may too much emphasis in religion spirit. Johnson Gao made the new lyrics with playing (exploration), sleeping (nursing the brain), eating (get nutrition for growth) and mother’s love. He composed a new lullaby with 2/4 rhythms. This is a song composed for a poem of the Chinese classic style called as Xin Yuan Cun (The Spring Comes to a Delightful Garden) - Snow, written by Mao Zedong in February of 1936. But, it was not published until Mao went to Chongqing in 1945 to hold a peace talk with Jiang Jieshi (Chiang Kai-shek). It was said that the poem was sent to Mr. Liu Ya-zi as a gift. Mao and Jiang had been deadly enemies in their whole lives. Mao defeated Jiang the finally in 1949 and founded the People's Republic of China. Translated in English by Johnson K. Gao in 2008 at 71 years of age in DallasTexas, USA. The translator had not been born when the poem was written. Gao had composed a song for that Chinese poem. 說來奇怪。 有時當我清晨醒來,我的大腦會自動產生某種旋律。 這是我在 2018 年 3 月 1 日上午 5 點 30 分錄製的一段經過提練的五句旋律。 第二天更早 3 月 2 日凌晨 2 點,我給音樂添加了一些中文歌詞,形成了 一首完整的歌曲,我想作為一張特殊的生日賀卡給我的長子阿爾文, 他的生日是 3 月 3 日, 他現在真巧在愛 爾蘭巡島旅遊。 我希望這首歌的意義能適合他的處境。

It is strange. Sometimes when I wake up in the early morning, my brain will automatically produce certain kind of melody. This is a refined piece of five lines melody that I recorded on the March 1, 2018 at 5:30am. The next day even more early at 2:00 am on March 2, I added some Chinese lyrics to the music to form a complete song, which I would like to give as a special birthday card to my eldest son Alvin, whose birthday is March 3, and he is now just on a tour along the Ireland. I hope that the meaning of the song can fit to his situation.

為我的 <箭與歌之曲> 寫的幾首燕歸來詩。

 

殘瓴簷下燕營巢;

 飛來飛去啣泥草。

我問燕兒為何故,

偏愛此屋似破廟?

(燕兒唧唧回語道;

哲學不深意境高:)

摩天大樓看似好;

 玻璃滴滑悲風繞。

富麗堂煌難安窩;

  奪我春光雛小鳥。

Today is February 6, 2022, the sixth day of the first lunar month. I wrote this seven by eight word poem as a feedback to several poems written by a netizen last year for my Melody of the Arrow and the Song.

Swallows make their nests under the eaves of an old house;

They are flying around carried with mud and hay.

I asked swallows why you are prejudice to select that house,

Which looks like a broken temple?

(Swallow chirps back to me,

although its philosophy is not deep, the artistic conception is high :)

Skyscrapers look splendid;

However, its glass is slippy and it catches fierce wind all around.

The shiny and magnificent halls are difficult to build a nest;

How could we waste spring time for nursing our chicks?

This song was composed by Johnson K. Gao during the Covid-19 pandemic period and self isolated at home. He started to compose that song in the early morning at A.M. 4:30 of September 7, 2020 and finished it at A. M. 4:30 of September 10, 2020. The song has no lyrics at the time of melody was finalized. But, the meaning of the song is clear. It is shown by its name with the hope that everyone could keep good health during the pandemic spreading. The song has an optimistic tune and vivid speed, which are proper to those survivals marching on the historic common road. All rights reserved.
