Faithfully, written by Journey's keyboard player Jonathan Cain, has quite the unusual origin story. After writing the lyrics on the tour bus one day, Cain proceeded to get the melody out of a dream that night, and composed the entire song in 30 minutes the following day. Appropriately, the lyrics describe the difficulties of being a musician and living life on the road, but they end with a reassurance to his spouse that he will always remain faithful. Just as quickly as the song was written, it shot to the top of the charts, hitting number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and cementing itself as one of the band's biggest hits. In fact, one magazine even referred to it as the greatest power ballad ever recorded -- so you can't go wrong adding this one to your gig books! Originally written for a wedding ceremony, this Cellobat arrangement for violin and cello duet maintains the soaring melodies, dynamic intensity, and even the epic guitar solo of the original for a chart that will be just as much fun to play as it is to listen to!
