Choral Choir,Choral,SATB Chorus - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1463357 Composed by Colin Eatock. 21st Century,A Cappella,Classical,Sacred. 56 pages. Colin Eatock Music #1042050. Published by Colin Eatock Music (A0.1463357). The composer writes: When the word “corona” entered daily use in the year 2020, I recalled the Motetti de la Corona: a book of popular motets published by Ottaviano Petrucci, in 1514. The volume contained part-songs with sacred texts in Latin, written by the leading composers of the day, including Josquin, Mouton, De Févin and others. The publication was popular, and Petrucci went on to publish another four books of motets under the same name.Three of my own Motetti de la Corona are settings of texts excerpted from Petrucci’s publication: “Ecce Maria,” “Christum ducem” and “Sancta Trinitas.” The “Ave Maria” draws on the Book of St. Luke for its text. And “De profundis” (Psalm 129 or 130, depending on the numbering system used) has been set to music by many composers, from Josquin to Pärt. Its cry for help seemed an appropriate response to a time of global pandemic.

Brass Ensemble Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.575306 Composed by Josquin des Prez. Arranged by David Musgrove. Classical,Renaissance. Score and parts. 18 pages. David Musgrove #182977. Published by David Musgrove (A0.575306). This setting of the moving Biblical text 'Absalon, fili me' ('Absalon, my son') was long attributed to Josquin des Prez (c. 1450-1521), but more recently is often reattributed to fellow Franco-Flemish Renaissance composer Pierre de la Rue. The two definitely met, and likely had an influence on each others' style, which has led to this lack of certainty of authorship. This arrangement keeps the original Latin lyrics in the trombone parts, which are intended to inform the performance of the music, in terms of phrasing and stresses. Note values are halved to suit modern notation. While technically relatively simple, sustained and well-phrased playing are the challenge here. Item number: DM 2809 MP3 sound file is produced from Sibelius.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.828727 Composed by Cipriano de Rore. Arranged by Guido Menestrina. Renaissance,Sacred. Octavo. 4 pages. Guido Menestrina #1769001. Published by Guido Menestrina (A0.828727). Cipriano de Rore (occasionally Cypriano) (1515 or 1516 – between 11 and 20 September 1565) was a Franco-Flemish composer of the Renaissance, active in Italy. Not only was he a central representative of the generation of Franco-Flemish composers after Josquin des Prez who went to live and work in Italy, but he was one of the most prominent composers of madrigals in the middle of the 16th century. His experimental, chromatic, and highly expressive style had a decisive influence on the subsequent development of that secular music form.
