Kevin composed Princes' Celebration in 2007 for the wedding of Jef and Sarah Sparkes whilst composer in Residence of the band now known as the Acceler8 Band. The pieces derives it's material from the Prince of Denmarks March (Trumpet Voluntary)by Jeremiah Clarke. The original is still popular at weddings but this celebratory take on the material would work well either for a wedding of brass band people or woud make a suitable opening piece for any concert.

An original chamber piece for 3 unaccompanied Trumpets.
A three note motif opens the piece to which all the piece alludes to, either in different moods, tonality or periods of music.
The first section is quite modern and atonal. The second expressivo section is a  classical /romantic melody. The third section is a baroque stlye fugue. At 84 the classical theme returns in a broader feeling followed by a codetta at 95 with ideas from the first and fugue sections.

Blore Heath 1459 was commissioned by the Audley Brass Band (Staffordshire, UK) in 1998. The Battle of Blore Heath was the first major battle in the War of the Roses. The music sets out to portray the events that took place there in 1459 in which the then Lord Audley, James Tuchet met his demise. The composition is based on material derived from the opening maestoso statement. Fanfare ideas lead on to a march theme that descibes the assembling of both sides at the battlefield. Quicker and more agitated passages ensue portraying two unsucessful assualts by Audley's men. The main battle scene then unfolds during which he, Lord Audley is killed. A touching lament follows his death with solos for Euphonium and Cornet in the works most sensitive section. The original march theme returns in the form of a funeral march and the tempo gradually returns  to its original form in an extended coda section before the initial opening statement brings the piece to its conclusion.
