Piano,Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.763446 Composed by Trad German. Arranged by Nigel Williams. Baroque,Holiday,Sacred. Score and part. 8 pages. Nigel Williams #5743529. Published by Nigel Williams (A0.763446). This well known chorale melody Lasst Uns Erfreuen can also be sung to the text Let All Things Their Creator Bless. In this arrangement for trumpet and organ, the organ is freely composed around the statement of the chorale melody by the trumpet. The organ part is notated on two staves but with an independent pedal part, and much of the writing is in the baroque style. In the middle section the organ also has the chorale in imitation with the trumpet, and the organist is required to have an instrument with at least two manuals and pedals. Ideal as a postlude in any festive service of worship, the performance duration is two and a half minutes. The full score has a separate one page trumpet part attached. Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845954 Composed by Maria Thompson Corley/William Steffe. Arranged by Maria Thompson Corley. Concert,Contemporary,Holiday,Patriotic. Score. 24 pages. Maria Thompson Corley #6679339. Published by Maria Thompson Corley (A0.845954). Commissioned by Julia Carey and Juventas Ensemble, this duet was premiered in early July of 2021 by Kelley Hollis, soprano, James Dargan, baritone, and Julia Carey, piano as a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King. The title of the concert was Yearning to Breathe Free. Julia conceived of the idea of combining Dr. King's I've been to the mountaintop speech with Julia Ward Howe's Battle Hymn of the Republic, however, the rights to Dr. King's speech weren't made available in time. As a result, the composer wrote a poem based on the portion of Exodus to which King alluded in his famous speech, in which Moses is giving a final speech to the Israelites from Mount Nebo. He knows he won't be allowed to cross over, and so he urges his people to be courageous as they continue on without him. The opening is very dissonant, because the images of a terrible swift sword unleashing fateful lightning struck me as terrifying. After commanding the heavens to let him speak, Moses also acknowledges his fear, as well. As the piece progresses, the familiar Battle Hymn Melody appears, as does Go Down Moses.James Dargan, for whom the piece was written, has an unusual range. Alternate notes are provided, as a result. The piece starts at about 1:18:10 of the concert, which can be found on the Juventas website.

High Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1141419 Composed by Todd Marchand. Christian,Christmas,Religious,Sacred. 5 pages. Con Spirito Music #741745. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1141419). William Blake (1757-1827), a seminal figure in the history of the poetry and visual art of the Romantic Age, published the lyric poem The Lamb in his collection, Songs of Innocence, in 1789.The Lamb is presented as from the viewpoint of, and in the voice of, a child. In the first stanza, the child asks the lamb if it knows its Creator; in the second, it tells the creature, by means of metaphor, that its Creator is the Lord Jesus Christ, who like the lamb took on the flesh of a created being, “little,†“meek,†and “mild.†The child declares that he/she shares with the creature the name of the One who is, in Christian belief, both the sacrificial Lamb and the Shepherd of his flock. Finally, the child pronounces a benediction: “Little lamb, God bless thee!â€This new setting of The Lamb for voice and keyboard accompaniment is intended to evoke the simplicity of the text, and therefore should be performed simply yet expressively, with subtle rubato (flexibility in tempo) to give emphasis to the text.Little lamb, who made thee? / Dost thou know who made thee,Gave thee life, and bid thee feed / By the stream and o'er the mead;Gave thee clothing of delight, / Softest clothing, woolly, bright;Gave thee such a tender voice, / Making all the vales rejoice?Little lamb, who made thee? / Dost thou know who made thee?Little lamb, I'll tell thee; / Little lamb, I'll tell thee:He is called by thy name, / For He calls Himself a Lamb.He is meek, and He is mild, / He became a little child.I a child, and thou a lamb, / We are called by His name.Little lamb, God bless thee! / Little lamb, God bless thee!Soprano range C4-G5; Tenor range C3-G4©Copyright 2022 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music (ASCAP).
