Piano,Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1455537 By Alex Schwarte. By Alex Schwarte. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,New Age. Score and part. 26 pages. Alex Schwarte #1034623. Published by Alex Schwarte (A0.1455537). I have been working on To Rise Again for about a year since the passing of several close family members. As with any long-term struggle, some days are easier than others, and some days it is hard to do much of anything at all. Walking through hard days, this piece is about mental health, the struggles that you face, and on the most difficult days, what it takes to rise again. Despair: This movement opens with what I call the despair motif. This motif consists of seven notes and will return throughout the piece, reminding us of uncertainty and darkness. The middle of the movement includes a build-up leading to a complete panic attack, featuring cluster chords in the piano and extreme volumes and articulation in the trombone. Finally, a quasi-march leads us to the end, where we sink to the lowest and angriest point. Support: This tranquil and shimmering movement evokes the other side of grief and depression: the people around you. In the dark moments, these people can become pillars of aid and light. Even with support, there are moments of darkness and uncertainty, but support will always be there. Musically, this movement features numerous color tones and aims to create an emotionally understanding and steady atmosphere. The opening trombone line (the support motif) represents tender support and is used numerous times in the next movement. Overcome: The final movement opens with a haunting atmosphere created by plucked piano strings. The first normal piano entrance is the Rumbling motif: the feeling of the soul exerting its will to be free but not quite making it. Throughout the rest of the movement, the trombone and piano go back and forth, with the piano emphasizing support and the trombone wallowing in despair. Eventually, the trombone begins to come around and rise. Concluding with a triumphant feeling of release, the mind is lifted from despair, free and open to whatever life brings next. Mental health looks different for everyone, and I want to reflect that in this composition. For all future performances, the performers can make significant musical changes to better reflect their own challenges. This could be as small as a different tempo or as large as a completely different style and articulation. To Rise Again is very personal to me, and I want every performance of it to be just as personal.Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDoVD8lbKulOjUbvdKcc9phxPNOgYLDuh.

Instrumental Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818287 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By Arnold Schoenberg. Arranged by edited by Stephen R Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). 20th Century. Individual part. 8 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #4979561. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818287). Fünf Klavierstücke I Sehr Langsam (Opus 23 Number 1) (Five Piano Pieces) by Arnold Schönberg (1874-1951). ♫ This opus was written in 1923. Piece # 1 is written in Schoenberg's atonal style, but is a precursor to his 12 tone pieces. Number 5 in the series was Schönberg’s first published 12 tone composition. ♫ Edited for 10 inch tablet by Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ Sequenced by the editor ♫ The Classical Music for Tablet Series offers piano masterworks by classical composers formatted to be read on 10 inch tablets. I use an Amazon Kindle with Mobile Sheets Pro and an Air Turn blue tooth foot pedal to practice and perform piano music. Similar products available to provide other tablets the same functionality. ♫ The pieces in this series have not been arranged, but most have been edited slightly, and have been formatted to fit screen size. For example, in the tablet versions, first and second endings are often removed and the repeated measures and endings written into the music so the performer can avoid having to go back to previous pages. These kinds of section repeats were invented to spare the composer’s time and the cost of extra paper and ink. But with a tablet the cost of paper and ink is irrelevant. ♫ Although there are a lot more page turns with a 10 inch screen compared with letter size pages, the readability of the music (due to the backlighting on the tablet) and the portability of the music (travelling with a small tablet instead of oversized books or portfolios of sheet music) easily makes up for the extra page turns. ♫ Your purchase provides one .pdf file that contains both the tablet edition and the letter size page (printable) version. There are several programs available online that will allow you to separate this .pdf file into 2 .pdf files to make it more useful.

Harp - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.928333 Composed by Rory Dall. Arranged by Karen Peterson. Celtic,Contemporary,Folk. Score. 4 pages. Karen Peterson #5993785. Published by Karen Peterson (A0.928333). WATCH THE D DORIAN VERSION: You are viewing the arrangement for lap harp, which is in the key of A dorian. To hear the D dorian version played on a larger harp, go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0-Kg0LifaUOverview: This tune was published by Daniel Dow in the 1770s and was probably composed by Roderick Morison (~1656-1713). My double-strung harp arrangement in the dorian mode has rolled, echoed chords, highlighting the depth of sound we can get from having two sets of strings. The accompaniment hand traverses the entire range of the harp, often overlapping the melody hand.Key and range: A dorian (one sharp). 21x2 strings. G below middle C through F. (LARGER HARPS: For harps with C below middle C or lower, get the D dorian version here: www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/rorie-lament-for-double-strung-harp-digital-sheet-music/21815669)Lever changes: None.Good for: Performance, memorials, therapeutic settings.Double-strung effects: The LH accompaniment frequently overlaps the RH melody range. Rolled accompaniment chords often contain the same note as the melody, creating a rolled echo. Some chords that aren’t rolled have doubled notes in both hands, creating depth. The repetition of LH patterns makes this a great piece to learn overlapping hands with.Characteristics: Neither hand needs to place more than an octave spread. There are some four-note chords (always LH 1-3-5-8). The RH has almost no chords. Few of the chords are inversions. There are very few sixteenth notes; no more than three played together with one hand. The LH has two long-run patterns (1-5-8-9-10 and 1-5-8-9) which can be played with cross-unders or a wandering thumb. The RH has a few cross-overs/unders.Finger placement: Finger number suggestions are provided for key phrases. Numbers above the notes are suggestions for the RH (marked with R or R# when they occur in the bottom staff). Numbers below the notes are suggestions for the LH (marked with L or L# when they occur in the top staff).Notation: Chord symbols are provided. Treble clef is used for both staves, with 8va for very high notes. Length: 4 pages. 60 measures, plus 12 if you take the repeat. 4 minutes.Page turns: If you are printing, double-side pages 2 and 3 so that there is only one page turn. The RH can be used on all notes of page 2’s last measure, so that the LH can turn the page. If you are using single pages on a tablet, you can do something similar at the end of page 3. Page 1’s turn is manageable. Contact me after purchase if you’d like a version that fits on two pages: EnjoyTheHarp@gmail.com

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1030831 Composed by Michael C. Brown. 20th Century,Romantic Period. Score. 23 pages. Michael C. Brown #4051. Published by Michael C. Brown (A0.1030831). This piece celebrates the life and mourns the loss of my granddaughter, Paisley Gladys Hogan, who was but 2 months old when she was called to Heaven. These are the words I wrote just before her funeral.... I. The Presence - She was here. I held her the day she was born. I held her and watched her smile at me less than 24 hours before she departed. She only knew love. No one around her ever showed her anything else that humanity had to offer; like hatred, heartache, pain, control, or anger. II. The Shock - She feels a Hand beckon her to leave her mortal coil, and she enters into a world we cannot yet reach.. With no one home, her former body ceases to wake. The unimaginable has happened and we struggle to reverse it. Finally, it becomes clear that we cannot. She sees us cry and she wonders what is happening. Having never known sorrow, she only sees that love didn't cause this response. She wants to comfort us with the love she knows, but we do not yet sense it. III. The Questions - One word has confounded mankind from its creation; Why? We have never found an acceptable answer. We ask, Why did this happen? and What did I do? and What didn't we do right? and Why couldn't it have been me? among others. We only know that her absence has carved holes in our hearts shaped like her. She tries to tell us, You can still love me. I just cannot be seen by you now. It does not mean your love cannot make me happy. I still want it. I still feel it. Please feel my love for you. IV. Letting Go - The day comes to bid farewell to the vehicle by which she came to us. We struggle to cope that we will see her face no more except in pictures. Because of the brevity of her life, memories are few to relive, but to do so is to recall happiness. In sorrow, we return her to the earth. All that is left is to return to recall, to talk to her, to bring flowers and other gifts, and to await the day we follow her. V. Remembering - The days and years follow. Normalcy slowly sets back into our lives. The holes in our hearts will never fully heal. But the salve of her love and her memory help to soothe the ache. We still return to where we placed her mortal home, where we laugh and cry in tandem, where our hearts ache to fill the void left by her departure. It will never really get better, but it will become easier for her love to dull the sting of her absence. VI. The Reunion - One by one, we will feel the same Hand bid us to come. The same events will befall those left behind each time. One by one, she will greet us as we reunite with her. We marvel at how she has stayed with us as we stay to comfort those we had just bidden farewell. The rest cannot be imagined by we that remain..........

Instrumental Duet Drums,Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1013054 Composed by Christine Southworth. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz. Score and parts. 7 pages. Airplane Ears Music #5802089. Published by Airplane Ears Music (A0.1013054). Sharktooth Frenzy (2014, 4') solo pianist with snare drum and bass drum. For Danny Holt. Composed at The Hermitage Artist Retreat. I wrote Sharktooth Frenzy for Danny Holt in January 2014, while in residence at The Hermitage Artist Retreat in Manasota Key, Florida, a special place, paleotologically, because fossilized shark teeth from up to 50 million years ago wash up on the beach here every day. Around 50 million years ago, Florida was completely under the ocean, and layers of limestone accumulated to create the bed rock of Florida. Starting around 30 million years ago, as the Earth cooled, sea levels dropped and Orange Island emerged in what is now north central Florida. 10 million years later, in the Miocene period, tectonic activity forced uplift around Orange Island and Florida began to resemble the land mass it is today. The coastal area was still covered by a shallow sea, but land animals lived inland. Further north the Appalachian Mountains were forming and sediment was flowing into Florida making very nutrient rich waters, which sank to the bottom of these shallow seas entombing dead marine animals and teeth from sharks (sharks loose teeth frequently, going through up to 30,000 in their lives). This continued until around 5 million years ago. There is an abundance of these fossilized teeth and other bones in the Peace River Formation and Myakka River, which washes out into the gulf each day, and then subsequently the fossils wash up onto the beaches of Manasota Key and Venice Beach. So while I was composing this piece for Danny, I was also obsessively collecting shark teeth. I’d go out each day as the tide was retracting and collect hundreds, actually thousands, of teeth. And it was a bit of a frenzy. So I decided this piece had to be about this process, collecting as many teeth as I could find and coming back to write music!About the ComposerChristine Southworth (b. 1978) is a composer and video artist based in Lexington, Massachusetts, dedicated to creating music born from a cross-pollination of sonic ideas. Jmsgu3 #3468180. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549222). J. S. Bach BWV 508. Bist du bei mir Bach adapted this aria from a lost Stölzel opera called Diomedes. He changed the original orchestral instrumentation to soprano, strings, and continuo.  He also modified the voice-leading making it sound more like a Bach composition. The work appears as BWV 508 No. 25 in the Anna Magdalena Notebook No. 2.   Source Only a few remnants of the original opera have survived. Historians speculate that Anna Magdalena got the song from the Leipzig Opera after the bankruptcy of 1720. Chances are good, though, that the tune was a favorite of everyone in Leipzig at the time.   Lyrics When thou art near, I go with joyTo death and to my rest.O how joyous would my end be,If your fair hands            Would close my faithful eyes. - Unknown Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy are the St. John Passion, and indeed the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer.  Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival                Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.  Voyager NASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977.
