It is a rich two-movement work, with a lyrical Adagio and lively Allegro with ornamented solo lines. It is a typical canzona of its time, consisting of the same melody played in two different time signatures. It also has some chromatic counterpoint in it that makes this piece sound interesting. Only a small number of measures were changed in this piece to accommodate this quartet setting, mainly to do with range and in the effort to not leave any one part sitting without music to play for too long.
