Chamber Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: A0.980599 Composed by William Grosvenor Neil. Contemporary. Score and parts. 59 pages. TheComposerStudio.Com, LLC #6712733. Published by TheComposerStudio.Com, LLC (A0.980599). Límites (1979) for mezzo-soprano and Chamber Orchestra   Borges’ poem greatly impressed me with its dreamlike images and its rich reflections on the limitations that we face in our lives. The poem mirrors Borges’ own acceptance of his impending blindness. I sought to capture musically the vivid revelations found in each of the stanzas of the poem. The music centers around the note A 440 which tries dramatically to rise to B-flat but is unsuccessful until the very end of the work, underscoring the lines space, time, and Borges now are leaving me. Cello,Clarinet,Piano,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1381033 Composed by Jason V. Barabba. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary,Disco. 48 pages. Barabba Music #965749. Published by Barabba Music (A0.1381033). It’s difficult to know what to say about this piece. It will probably always be an aberration when considered as part of my larger body of works. My challenge when writing this piece was to incorporate two different dance styles, and I immediately decided it was time to face the disco music of my childhood. Yes, I had the Bee Gees on LP when I was a kid.…and ABBA…but I left them out of this piece.Obviously, this is meant to be fun. There are direct (if not always obvious) quotations to the following songs:              Anita Ward’s “Ring My Bellâ€Â              “Night Fever†by the Bee Gees              Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive†(Just had to be included)              Lipps Inc’s “Funktownâ€Â              and “Boogie Nights†from HeatwaveThe ancient dance form known as the pavane is, weirdly enough, the perfect pairing with the disco…in that their rhythmic structures easily go together, allowing me to spread the disco material around throughout the piece. In fact, the references to “I Will Survive†are in the slower pavane section, not the disco. The piece is basic A-B-A form (Disco-Pavane-Disco) with a fadeout ending…because in all my research I don’t remember finding a single disco piece that didn’t have a fadeout ending. It just wasn’t done. Please have some fun listening to this piece, because I had a great time writing it. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever written..pdf contains a complete set of score and parts. Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869365 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Latin,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 102 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #29655. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869365). Instrumentation: 2222-4321-2perc-pf-strings. When Andrea Bates, executive director of the Brockton Symphony Orchestra, first told me that the Brockton Symphony had commissioned me to write a new work to be premiered in 2003-2004, I immediately thought that since its music director, Jonathan Cohler, is a marvelous clarinetist I would be most attracted to the idea of writing a clarinet concerto for the occasion. Both Andrea and Jonathan were very receptive and enthusiastic about my idea. Andrea also told me that the commissioned work should somehow bring to attention the diverse cultures of the recent immigrants that have settled in the city of Brockton. So in the spring of 2003 I came down to Brockton for a meeting to which Andrea had invited representative members of these new communities. Three showed up: Maria Evora-Rosa, Rick Marrero and Fred Fontaine. Andrea had asked them to bring recordings of the music from their countries for me to listen to. There were CDs of very exciting and fun music from Cape Verde, Puerto Rico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Haiti. After spending months listening to the music from these countries, all of them islands in the Atlantic or the Caribbean, I slowly began to get a sense of the beauty and the magic of the musical style and language of each place, each individual island. The end result is a three-movement work for clarinet and orchestra. Unlike the traditional Concerto form which is Fast-Slow-Fast, this work begins with something slow. A fast number follows as a second movement; and then, after a short, slow interlude, another fast number appears. The first movement is my adaptation of the morna of Cape Verde – slow, melancholy and sad. The diva of the morna is Cesaria Evora. Her singing brings to mind a fusion between the African blues and the Portuguese fado. The second movement is my take on the merengue as performed by the inimitable Xavier Cugat. It is dance music through and through!!! The third movement is also a dance number: the ever-popular music from Haiti, the reggae. And in order to give some contrast between the two dance numbers, I added a slow chorale for clarinet and strings that serves as a prelude before the dancing begins in the final movement. I envision the chorale as a little church music before the people go out and dance the night away. Throughout the entire work, the solo clarinet is the principal voice … singing, dancing, and cavorting!!! Gotta dance!!! Have fun and enjoy the music!!! I surely did as I was working on it ….

String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1417819 Composed by Antonio Vivaldi. Arranged by Martin Lass. Baroque,Chamber,Children,Classical,Instructional. 19 pages. MA Lass & I Lass #999240. Published by MA Lass & I Lass (A0.1417819). Martin Lass is an Australian violinist, composer, arranger, and teacher. He is most well known for his performance career as a classical crossover and popular music artist with 11 CD recordings, numerous awards and accolades, and performances with the likes of Luciano Pavorotti, Julio Iglesias, and Joan Baez. Before this, he was a founding member of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, as well as playing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. When he is not spending time with his wife of 46 years, his three middle-aged children, and his two grandchildren, he spends his time and energy teaching, writing, arranging, and performing. Vivaldi's Concerto RV 93 was originally written for lute or guitar solo plus strings and basso continuo. Here, the 1st movement of the concerto has been arranged for an intermediate-level student string orchestra without continuo or piano accompaniment. To this end, the work has been simplified: the original key of D major has been changed to C major; some rhythms have been simplified, including doubling all note values and changing the time signature to 2/2; some registers have been changed in order to keep parts in 1st position; and extensive dynamics and articulations have been added to assist students with musical interpretation according to Baroque music conventions. That said, some crescendos have been added for effect. It is anticipated that the one repeat will be done, as is traditional. The upper strings are expected to be able to play low 2nd and 4th fingers, and the cellos have both backward and forward extensions but only leave 1st position in two short identical passages. The main challenge of the piece lies in the bowing style and the articulations, aforementioned.Level: 2.0 - 2.5Duration: 3mParts ListViolin IViolin IIViolin III (from Viola) (optional)ViolaVioloncelloDouble BassFull Score.

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1123447 Composed by Nathan Grocholski. Classical,Contemporary. Score and parts. 65 pages. Nathan Grocholski #724258. Published by Nathan Grocholski (A0.1123447). The basis of this piece was centered around the complex emotions of cats in which we observe in our every day lives. With regards to this piece especially, there were three cats that I based this composition on, and their names are Storm, Zany and Tremor. Each miniature is a representation of a certain type of emotion that each of these cats is known for expressing. The first movement is for my favorite cat, Storm, and is titled, “Precious Storm.†Going back to my earliest memories of writing songs, I re-translated an old tune that I used to sing into a brass quintet miniature and dedicated to him, for he is the best cat. The second miniature is titled, “Mouse on a String,†and is supposed to portray the same energy that one would see from a cat in chase of a toy mouse being constantly propelled around the air from one end of a string, which is one of Storm’s favorite things to do. The third movement is called “Zany the Scaredy-Cat,†which is exactly the type of cat that Zany is. Always fearful and skittish, Zany sneaks around the house to avoid human contact at all costs. The fourth movement is titled “You Stuck, Zany?†This is named after a short video clip in which Zany finds herself stuck in the fireplace and struggling to get out. Once she frees herself, she runs away as fast as she can. The fifth movement is called “Passive-Aggressive Tremor†for the final cat, Tremor. Tremor likes to instigate conflicts with the other cats, but once the tension arises, he backs away, which can also be heard within the intense build ups and anti-climatic drops within the music as well. Finally, the sixth movement is called, “King Tremor,†in which is the boldest sounding of all the pieces, for when it does come to conflict, it is usually Tremor who comes out on top, outsmarting the other two cats.

Clarinet Choir,Woodwind Ensemble - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1375438 Composed by John Wilbye. Arranged by Alan Edgar. Early Music,Renaissance. 40 pages. Alan Edgar Ted Moon #960011. Published by Alan Edgar Ted Moon (A0.1375438). John Wilbye (c 1574 – 1638) was an English madrigal composer. He was employed for decades at Hengrave Hall, near Bury St Edmunds. His style is characterized by the use of false relations between the major and minor modes. ‘Draw on Sweet Night’ comes from John Wilbye’s Second Set of Madrigals of 1609, published when the composer was 35. It has become one of Wilbye’s most cherished works and has been recorded by the likes of I Fagiolini, The Tallis Scholars and The Consort of Musicke. Wilbye labelled his score apt both for viols and voices so I feel justified in making this instrumental arrangement. When adding expressive markings, I had in mind the lyrics and their emotions. INSTRUMENTATION: Essential: Eb, Bb 1-4, Bass and either Bb5 or Alto. Optional: Contra-alto and Contrabass 6 minutes.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1431316 By Keith Terrett. By Petur Alberg. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Traditional. Score. 3 pages. Keith Terrett #1011784. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1431316). An arrangement of the Faroese National Anthem for Piano.Tú alfagra land mítt (Thou fairest land of mine), officially Mítt alfagra land (My fairest land), is the national anthem of the Faroe Islands. It was written in 1906 by headteacher Símun av Skarði, and the melody was composed in 1907 by violinist Petur Alberg. The song was written in a work dated 1 February 1906 by Símun av Skarði, the headmaster of a high school in Føgrulið, southwest of Klaksvík. It was written during a time of strong division in the Faroe Islands between conservatives who wanted to preserve Danish rule and autonomists who wanted more self-government, of which Símun was the latter.Violinist Petur Alberg wrote the first notes of the music of the anthem on 4 September 1907, after the melody came to him that evening. He later sang the melody down the phone in the Løgting to Símun av Skarði, who liked it. Petur then sent it to a music teacher he knew in Akureyri, Iceland, and to asked him to harmonise it for a male quartet. In October 1907, the male quartet arrangement arrived, and singers began to practice it for a Boxing Day concert in Sloan's Hall in Tórshavn. Petur, not daring to reveal the song's author, told the singers the song was Icelandic, by a certain Jón Sveinsson. However, the singers liked the song. The song was performed at the concert on 26 December 1907, which was the first time any song by Petur had been performed publicly and the first time Tú alfagra land mítt was performed publicly. On 8 January 1908, Tú alfagra land mítt was published in the Faroese newspaper Tingakrossur. It was then published in the Lesibók, a literary history in chronological order, in 1911. It was later published in many editions of the Songbók Føroya fólks (Faroese People's Songbook), generally in the number one position, from 1913 through 1959.In 1925, a Nynorsk translation of the song by Rolf Hjort Schøgen was published in the Tingakrossur. In 1928, a Danish translation by university student Tormod Jørgensen was published in Højskolebladet No. 7928.[1][2] An Icelandic translation by Jochum M. Eggertsson appeared in the magazine Dvöl in 1935. The same year, a German translation by Ernst Krenn was published in the Føroyaheftið (Faroese Instalment), a Faroese booklet at the Nordic Society in Vienna, Austria. In 1943, an English translation by Padre G. C. C. Knowleson was featured in the notes of the magazine The Pioneer by some British soldiers in the Faroe Islands during World War II. As the national anthem Tú alfagra land mítt won out in a rivalry with Eg oyggjar veit (I know some islands), from 1877, on which song should become the national anthem of the Faroe Islands. Tú alfagra land mítt has been sung at all festivals in the Faroe Islands, and it has been in the psalm book of the Faroese Church since 1990. The national radio station Útvarp Føroya, established in 1957, played it every night before ending its broadcast for the evening.

Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.836718 Composed by Brian Joyce. Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. Score. 15 pages. Brian Joyce #5749579. Published by Brian Joyce (A0.836718). These eight Chorale Preludes were all written between March and May of 2020, during the worldwide Coronavirus Pandemic. Unlike the earlier companion volumes of shorter English and German preludes, which feature a variety of moods and themes, these American examples all seem to center around the closely related ideas of hope and quiet confidence. While this was not my intention back when I was choosing hymns to work with, I am pleased with the unity of the set. Taken as a whole, they are filled with tidings of comfort and joy. Stylistically, the preludes range from the baroque bounce of Praise Him, Jesus Our Blessed Redeemer, through the sturdy On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand (with its chords sounding as if they had been carved from granite blocks) and a surprisingly delicate I Stand Amazed. There is a fair amount of canonic leading and following in He Leadeth Me; Great is Thy Faithfulness is the expressive heart of the set; and we end by returning to 18th century ritornello models with Blessed Assurance. Through it all I think I have managed to avoid any sense of academic stuffiness - in fact there are several moments which may sound almost playful if not handled rightly. As with the Shorter English and German Preludes, most of these are between one and two minutes in length, and each fits on one or two pages, arranged so as to avoid page turns. As always, durations and sources are provided for your planning.

Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.996578 Composed by John Stafford Smith. Arranged by Elijah Hubler. Contemporary. Score. 17 pages. Elijah Hubler #4897971. Published by Elijah Hubler (A0.996578). This is an advanced arrangement of The Star Spangled Banner which I arranged with a certain rhythmic motif introducing the arrangement and bringing that same motif back in the middle and end of the piece. I arranged it to sound much different than the typical vocal performances I've been exposed to, which seem to carry many of the same characteristics and embellishments across the board. For the longest time, I disliked this anthem, due to how I often heard it, but after singing it in four-part harmony with some friends I realized that it was actually a good piece that had a lot of potential if I ever wanted to arrange it. The next year I did just that, and I hope this offers an alternative concept of how this anthem can sound compared with the normal way it seems to be performed.~Sola Deo Gloria
