Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1412485 Composed by Antonio Valente (c.1520-1581). Arranged by Thomas Ling. Historic,Instructional,Renaissance. Score. 2 pages. Thomas Swee Chin #994571. Published by Thomas Swee Chin (A0.1412485). The title - 'Lo Ballo Del' Intorcia' means 'The Tourch Dance'. One almost can feel the atmosphere of the Middle Ages in the piece, with the strumming of the lute and the improvisation of the flute on top. The simple accompaniment is certainly dance like in character. It is a piece from Intavolatura de Cimbalo (Harpsichord Tablature) by Antonio Valente, a Neapolitan composer and organist. This collection was published in Naples in 1576. Lo Ballo Del' Intorcia is a lively dance piece typical of the Renaissance period. It's known for its dancelike rhythms, lively melodies, and often features variations and improvisatory passages characteristic of the keyboard music of the time.  Valente's work represents an important contribution to the keyboard repertoire of the late Renaissance, showcasing the vibrant musical scene of Naples during that era.

Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1328151). Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming is a Christmas carol with a rich history and deep theological significance. It is most commonly translated from the original German hymn Es ist ein Ros entsprungen. The hymn emphasizes the royal genealogy of Jesus and Christian messianic prophecies, describing a rose sprouting from the stem of the Tree of Jesse, symbolizing the descent of Jesus from Jesse of Bethlehem, the father of King David. The hymn has been set to music by various composers, with the familiar harmonization by Michael Praetorius dating back to the early 17th century. The English translation by Theodore Baker, Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming, was written in 1894 and has been widely used in English-language hymnals. The hymn's enduring appeal lies in its theological depth, musical beauty, and historical significance, making it a cherished part of the Christmas tradition for many.

Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.882280 Arranged by A. Douglas Biggs. Christian,Christmas,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 9 pages. Adrian D Biggs #6620065. Published by Adrian D Biggs (A0.882280). This arrangement of Lo How a Rose E’er Blooming takes a fresh look at the beloved 16th century Marian hymn. The familiar melody is now restructured into the gently asymmetrical 3+2+2 rhythm of a 7/8 meter. The music flows out, with that slight asymmetry giving an attractive lilt to the well-known tune. As with the rhythmic structure, the harmony is also reconsidered. Sonorities from related tonalities appear, providing new colors to enhance the well-known theme. The choral parts are attractive and singable, with a little alto divisi and each part having a turn at the melody. Suitable for an intermediate to intermediate/advanced choir. Since this is a digital realization, a Youtube link is provided to allow for view of the lyric along with music playback.
